And it’s going to start here with this matchup between the Chicago Cubs and the Kansas City Royals from Wrigley Field for the Chicago Cubs. I’m seeing Matthew Boyd listed as the starter in this one. And as far as the Kansas City Royals go, no starter confirmed at the time this video is being recorded. Hopefully that’s something that we can update for you. going into uh Tuesday’s morning’s show. But for right now, like I said, I see Matthew Boyd here, and Boyd has been outstanding. I never thought I would be able to say that about Matthew Boyd, but he seems to have undergone a career resurgence in this, you know, Chicago Cubs rotation, a 10-3 record, a 2.34 ERA, almost a strikeout per inning, 102 strikeouts in 111 and two/3 innings of work. But his last seven starts prior to to the All-Star break, you know, from June 9th to July 12th, a 1.26 ERA, a 5-0 record. He’s just pitching out of his mind for the Chicago Cubs. Now, he does have a bit of a tough test here against a Royals lineup that at times has been able to, you know, drum up some offense. And you look at their last two weeks against left-handed pitching on the calendar, you know, it’s including the All-Star break. Maybe you look at the last nine to 10 games, but this is a Royal Fly that leads baseball, hitting 328 against lefties in that twoe stretch. Granted, it’s only across 66 played appearances, but still, they’ve been able to do some damage. The team OPS numbers are second best. The isolated power numbers are second best. So, take that for what it’s worth. But again, the small sample size gives me a little bit of pause with this Kansas City Royals lineup. And again, I you know, I said it in Monday’s video, and if I if I sound like I’m a broken record to you guys, I really do apologize, but this is still a Royals lineup that for me has been one of the premier lineups in terms of games played where they’ve scored three runs or less this season. It is an offense that can go dry and run dry at any point. And it wouldn’t surprise me. And especially with how well Matthew Boyd has pitched on the other side, I could see Boyd having a strong start in this game. You look at Boyd’s numbers at Wrigley this season across nine starts, an 8-0 record, a 2.21 ERA, a 207 opponent’s batting average. He’s just been lights out at home this season, and I think he can pitch well here in this one. Again, it’ll be interesting to see who the Kansas City Royals end up choosing to start in this game. But like I said, I just I don’t love this Royals rotation when you take them out on the road. And you know, there’s just a lot of pitchers that have pitched better at uh at Kaufman Stadium compared to on the road. Guys like Michael Lorenz and guys like Michael Walka who have pitched better, you know, at um at home. And I think that this could be a good spot for the Cubs to keep their momentum going here. I think this is still one of the better lineups in the National League. And like I said, I think with Matthew Boyd in the form that he’s in and it’s hard to go against the Cubs here.
