The NHL is TERRIFIED of the Sharks future…
The NHL is terrified of the Sharks future as their top prospects have been ranked very highly by a lot of analysts heading to the season, showing how good the Sharks have been at the draft table over these last couple of years. They have two guys in the top seven and two goalies in the top five. So, you’re not going to want to miss this episode of Sharks Digest. We’re going to break everything down for you guys. If you’re a big Sharks fan, you want to stay up to date on the latest news around the team, we’re going to be here every day bringing you the latest. So, you’re not going to want to miss uh that. So, make sure to hit that subscribe button. But with that said, we’re going to jump right into these rankings by the Athletic and Scott Wheeler. He’s been releasing these rankings for a while now and has been pretty on the money with them. And now he has a lot of Sharks uh ranked very highly on these uh which obviously for good reason. and they have one of the the biggest or deepest uh prospect pools in the league. I think the deepest in my own opinion. So, a lot of these guys are going to be on the list, but uh it is great to see that for the Sharks and the future of this team. But jumping into uh the first ranking here, he has Michael Misa ranked number two uh in the tier one category, right below uh Matthew Schaefer, which makes sense. Matthew Schaefer just going first uh in this year’s NHL draft. and Michael Misa going number two. So, one and two pick go one and two in the rankings which makes sense uh obviously just how the cookie crumbles when the draft pool. But the interesting thing here when I initially seen this was uh Michael Visa is now uh above Ivan Deidov uh in this ranking by Scott Wheeler. So, a very interesting choice here. I know a lot of Montreal fans were upset with that. Uh but you know, obviously Deinov having such a great uh playoffs and a great just before the playoffs for the Canadians really showing that he can get it done in today’s league and really become that superstar for this team. So Michael Misa being placed above Ivan Deidov here is huge. Obviously I think it is the right call. I think Michael Misa is more allaround player. Obviously looking at his stats, I mean it speaks for itself. He’s coming off a 62 goal season over 130 points uh in the OHL. And it’s not just the offense when it comes to Michael Misa, which is I’ve been uh you know very adamant about here on the channel. It’s his 200 foot play, how great he is on the defensive side, whether it’s forchecking, getting back on the back check. This is how good of a player Michael Misa is. Yes, the offensive upside is tremendous, but it is, you know, it doesn’t it well, I mean, it does compare to the defense, but I think in today’s league, having that defense and being great at it, it really adds a lot to your value and adds a lot to a team. And that’s what the Sharks got when they got Michael Misa here. So, I really like this ranking. Uh maybe as the season shakes out, we could see him jump Matthew Schaefer in these rankings. I really do hope we do see Michael Misa in a Sharks jersey on opening night. I expect it to happen. A lot of people do as well, but there is always that chance that he goes back or goes to college or does something like that. But I think having 130 points, he’s ready to jump to the NHL and be that 2C that this team does need. But want to hear your guys thoughts on that down below in the comment section. But jumping right in to the next ranking here, and it’s our guy Sam Dickinson, the CHL defenseman of the year winner. Uh he comes in sixth on these rankings, just below Zeve Bou and just above Ardam Luna. My personal opinion, I think Sam Dickinson is one of the best defensive prospects in today’s game. I think this guy should be in the top five. Not trying to knock a guy like Buham because I think he is a great prospect as well, but Sam Dickinson came is coming off an insane season. I mean, you you can’t top this. He’s gone backtoback championships with the London Knights in the OHL. Had a 91 point season as a defenseman, 62 assists and almost 30 goals as a defenseman. We got to we got to strenuate that because having this many goals as a defenseman is unheard of. his way to just jump up in the rush and score goals is ridiculous. And then when you go to the right side of the screen and see what he did to help this team win the championship this year, he had 31 points in 17 games, 22 assists, and almost 10 goals. This guy is going to be an absolute dynamite when he comes into the league for the San Jose Sharks. And I do expect it to be this season. I think it is time for San Digon to finally become a San Jose Shark. I I think it’s written in the stars. I think he’s going to come in to training camp and he’s going to very really impress this front office, really impress his coaching staff, and they just got rid of Henry Thun. So, Sam Pickinson has a spot. He slides in here. Maybe he plays with Nick Ley. Maybe he plays um you know with uh Shakir Muka Madulan. I think those guys could really have some great chemistry going forward. But Sam Dickinson is going to be such a fun guy to keep an eye on. I think he deserves to be in the top five of this list. Uh in my opinion, I think he just after the season he had it’s you don’t see very many defenseman doing that. So, he’s going to have a great career in San Jose. He’s going to be a franchise defenseman for this team. I just hope he can come in and score as many goals from the blue line as he has in the OHL. But I want to hear your guys thoughts on his ranking as well down below in the comment section. But it’s time to swap into some goalie rankings here as uh Yaroslav Ascarov has been rated number one amongst goalending prospects uh by our guy Scott Wheeler right above Jacob Fowler which again a lot of Habs fans weren’t happy with on Twitter. Obviously we haven’t seen Fowler uh at the NHL level yet. So maybe that affects this ranking. But we have seen Ascrov and we have seen how dominant this guy has been in the cage and I’m so excited to see this guy finally get his full first season as a San Jose Shark. I mean this guy tore it up in the AHL last year. I mean, just looking at his stats here, uh, in the he had a 935 in the playoffs for the Barracuda in just six games. And then in 22 games in the NHL or in the AHL with the Barracuda, he had a 923 save percentage with 11 wins, nine losses, and then his time up with uh the San Jose Sharks. did get into 13 starts having an 896, but this guy really really finished the season strong with the Barracuda and is a big reason to why he is the number one uh overall ranking amongst the goalending. I think it’s definitely deserved. I think Garav Ascro is going to have such a great season for the San Jose Sharks and really put the league on notice that he has arrived. He is the next best goalender in this league and I’m so excited for that. I think this kid has a lot to prove and I think he’s ready to show it. And obviously now he has a lot of defense to kind of help him out with that with adding Ditriaf with adding John Clingberg, Nick Ley, the list goes on and on. He’s going to have a stellar season and I think he’s going to be a reason why the Sharks do, you know, jump out of the the bottom of of their division and kind of compete this season. I definitely do believe that. But if not, you know, Ned is there as well. Also, that’s a great point to make because Ned is going to be a great mentor for this guy going forward as well. But it wasn’t just Ascrov who’s ranked in these goending rankings. As I alluded to earlier, we see the guy of the Sharks just drafted at the end of the first round. Joshua Ravensburg. And I got I keep saying it, that is a hockey name. That’s one of the best names I’ve heard. Joshua Ravensburg, uh, 66 goalender, uh, coming out of Canada, uh, out of the WHL. I mean, this guy is a special talent. I mean, he obviously he’s young. He’s only 18 years old. We’re not going to see him in the NHL for a couple years time. But once we see him come over to the Barracuda and really get his reps in, I think the Sharks fans are really going to be happy with this guy because all from what I’ve seen on scouts online is this guy is special. He’s a very rare southpaw catching goalender which could throw a lot of people off and he is great at it. He is great at covering those angles. He’s great at being big in the net, making himself big and really cutting off the tight corners. you really have to put a good past a good shot past Ravensburg to beat him. And I think as he gets older, as he develops, as he, you know, works with these NHL coaches and these NHL goalie coaches, this guy’s only going to get better and better. And I can’t wait to see him finally come over to the AHL or even the ECHL level and just dominate. This guy, I you give him three, four years, we’re going to be talking about him competing for an NHL starter job with Asgro in my opinion. But I want to hear your guys’ thoughts on Ravensburg down below. I’m very high on him. I love goalies. I’m a goalie guy and uh from what I’ve seen from Ravensburg, from scouts, from clips online, this guy’s the real deal. And he’s a southpaw, which just makes him even more special. Want to hear your guys’ thoughts on the rankings down below in the comment section. Do you think Scott Wheeler got him right here? I definitely do do think he got him right. He said also that maybe Ravensburg could have been ranked lower. So, we’re going to we’re going to keep him in the top five about goalie prospects. But obviously, the only one that, you know, I don’t really have a problem with, but you know, Sam Dickson, he’s going to jump up in that top five as this season goes on. This guy’s so special. I can’t wait for him. But I want to hear your guys’ thoughts. If you made it this far on the video, let me know who your favorite prospect we have in the system is. Love to hear from you, guys. If you enjoyed, leave a like, subscribe to the channel, but as always, I’ve been your host, Casey. Keep your ambience.

I don’t understand how Askerov can be considered a prospect when he has played games in the NHL
What if we put Misa to college for a year and we get bottom 3 again and we are able to pick Gavin Mckenna 🤯🤯🤯. We will be super Scary
Let’s pump the brakes a bit on the league is terrified of the Sharks! Let’s hope to mid to pack this year.
I'm a goalie guy, myself. Played it 5 of the 13 yrs I played hockey.
Overating Matthew Schaefer both were injured; Misa is way more impressive.
They should be terrified now!!! Nobody expects them to make the playoffs. That maybe true. But I just got one feeling we will get in by being a Wildcard, if we can't whoop that Vegas ass for the division. At least. Hehehe
Both Askarov and Ravensbergen catch with their right hand. 🏒🤙🏼
