Buccos Bats Red Hot in Win | Tigers vs. Pirates Game Highlights (7/22/25)
Bench Keller’s numbers that three and 10 record talking about it earlier. It just does not reflect on how good he has been this year and uh well looking on he’s almost up to 120 innings. Uh Mitch for number of years now has been the Pirates Iron Man. The 29year-old Keller delivers a swing and a miss like a slider chased by Colt Keith away. That ball is socked to right center. Glabber Torres up the alleyway. He can run for a while. Glabber is on to second. He’ll take his double. No need for the first triple of the year for Glaver Torres. He’s got a one out double. Hits this in the line drive right center field and over to make the catch. There’s Alexander Canario in right center. Out number two. And the pitch grounded up the middle and on two hops behind the second base bag. Throws on to first to get Riley Green. And start number 17 for Casey Mis. This is a again a good matchup for a Tigers pitcher, especially one who’s had the success that Casey Me has had. Yeah, and I think Casey’s going to be nice and fresh after that all-star break. Horowitz with three hits in yesterday’s game. How about another good way to get started base hit for Horowitz? This Pirates team offensively has struggled last night. That’s not going to happen here. High heat whisks away Gonzalez. Casey Mis’s first strikeout. Three fast balls, three strikes. That’s very efficient pitching right there. A long one for Reynolds. Might see a good pitch to hit. Struck soundly going for extra bases. A double for Brian Reynolds. Now you could tell by the sound that that ball was hit well. Here’s Tommy Fam with that infield in. It’s one and0 from Mai on the ground. Short stop. Jav comes home. He’s got it there. Rogers has the tag. Two away. That is not the guy you want to hit it to when you’re trying to do something quick. Not at all. Silky smooth, too. You know, there’s some guys that look like they’re in panic mode on the baseball field. Look at Jav. That is a short hop backhand on the on the move throw, sidearm, perfect strike. Cruz digs in hitting 211. This is a dangerous hitter to two back door slider. Got him for a called third. Beauty of a pitch to get O’Neal Cruz. Nothing. Nothing as we go to the second inning. Here is Spencer Torqulson. 200 swinging a shot. Fair pass to diving Krian Hayes went off his glove. Trickles down the left field line. Torqulson around first, heads to second. The throw from Tommy Fam way offline. Spencer Torlson slides in safely. Leadoff double here in the second. Oh, and two. Here’s the pitch. Swing and a miss. He got him with a slider. Bayz strikes out. Go to the bottom of the second. A walk drawn by Henry Davis to put runners at first and second for Isaiah Kinder Malefa. Little tapper left side and M will barehand it and throw. No, he won’t throw wisely because the first baseman Torlson said don’t even bother. It’s going to be a swinging bunt hit for Isaiah Connor Falefa to load them up. Well, they’re loaded for Horowitz now. One out in the air to left center field. That’s trouble and that’s going to get down and Spencer Horowitz delivers a tworun double. Hayes and Davis score. Kinder Falefa to third. Two nothing Bucks in the second inning as Horowitz continues to stay hot. Gets a pitch out over the plate. Goes the other way. Easily scoring two. Couple ground ball outs to begin this top of the third and Glbert Torres doubled to right center his first time up. And the two two- two pitch swing and a miss. Struck him out with a sweeper. That’s the way you do it. O’Neal Cruz struck out looking to end the first. M with the pitch to Cruz and a fly ball to center field. A little trouble maybe with the sun. Yeah, for sure. Meadows. It’s over his head. And so O’Neal Cruz will trot into second base with a leadoff double trying to pick it up and by the time he did, he knew that it was over his head. Hitting 114 milesPH. One ball, one strike on Hayes. One-1 chopped toward third. Deep third. McKinstry has it. Throws on to first and dropped by the first baseman, Torlson. Cruz will go to third. Hayes safe at first. And now Cruz breaks for the plate and he scores. Wow. O’Neal Cruz head first dive into home plate to give the Pirates a three nothing lead. Joey Cora almost got picked off. The third base coach diving his helmet flies off. That ball was whistled past Joey Corrupt. First and third. Zack McKinstry now flyed out his first time. McKinstry a lefty hitter and in the air to medium depth right field. Canario setting up for a throw. Makes the catch. Runner breaks. Here comes the throw to the plate. It is going to be late. And a sacrifice fly for McKinstry. We’re going to have a challenge here. The only question would be is if he didn’t touch home plate with that left hand. Here it is. Oh, he didn’t come close to home plate. The challenge works. Perez does not score. We go to the bottom of the fourth inning. It’s still three nothing Pirates. And it’s a leadoff double for Spencer Horowitz. Almost has already doubled to right center tonight. This ball in the air the other way. Drops in for a base hit. Rebella going to wave home Horowitz. Here comes the throw. It’s way off the mark. Horwitz goes in standing and the Pirates lead four to nothing. Two outs. Why not be aggressive with it? And a base hit to right field. Reynolds will be waved home. Here comes the throw to the plate. That’s off the mark late. And the Pirates take a five nothing lead is Tommy Fam. Singles to right field. Two on, nobody out. You can’t hit a five-run homer right here. If you’re Jake Brock, you just got to have a quality at bat. Well, here’s a fly ball left center field. That’s way back there. No fiveun homer, but three you’ll take. The let’s go Tigers chance started and Jake Rogers delivers a big blast. That’s a long way out there. They’re sticking with Keller against Bayz. The showdown. One ball, two strikes. Keller from the Pirate sets. Here’s the one-two to Bayz. Cold. Third strike. Got him at the bottom of the zone with a fast ball. Keller strikes out Javier Bayz and leaves two men on. Ryan Reynolds is two for three. RBI single his last time out. Runner at second base. Swordwitz. There’s a ball that drops into center field for a base hit. Horowitz waved home. Here’s the throw. It’s late. Reynolds goes into second base. He has an RBI single and the Pirates have a 6-3 lead in the sixth inning. Tommy Fam had an RBI single in the fourth. One for three and rips this to left field off that splitter. That’s going to get to the wall. Pirates will score another run. It’s another double. Fam into second. Pirates leading at seven to three. a dozen hits and it’s first and third rookie Brian Hayes. Line drive left field base hit 83 Pirates. Tommy Fam trots home as Hayes picks up another riby. Pirates pick up another run. Brings up Jamai Jones. He’s pinch hitting for Parker Meadows. Oh, he lays into this one high and deep left field. Jamai Jones has a two-run homer here in the eighth. That’s showing off some power there. No doubt about it. He gets the breaking ball out over the plate and absolutely demolishes this ball. Tigers make it an 85 game. Top of the ninth and the Pirates leading 8 to five, which means it’s renegade time. David Bednar on the mound after capturing his 14th straight consecutive save. Two on, two outs. 85 Pirates. Bedar the pitch. He struck him out. Bedar saves it. And the Pirates have taken back-to-back games over the Tigers. The Pirates have taken the first two. The Tigers have lost eight of nine.
The Pittsburgh Pirates defeated the Detroit Tigers 8-5 at PNC Park on July 22, 2025. Bryan Reynolds, Spencer Horwitz and Tommy Pham each drove in two runs, while Mitch Keller picked up the win. David Bednar notched his 15th save of the season.

Yeah Mitch and Bucs beat Detroit again!❤️⚾️❤️⚾️❤️⚾️❤️⚾️
Only two teams with worse records in all of MLB. Woo Hoo, they just won their third in the past 14 games.
Go Bucs!⚾️⬛️🟨☠️
Needed this one badly, getting swept by the White Sox while giving up 27 runs was really tough to watch
Fantastic! Raise It! I get to sing this song again!! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B31GP9gDp9s
Amazing game to be at!
Let's go Bucs!
Raise it!
Sad to say but it sure seems like these guys want to look useful to whoever needs help in their playoff runs.
Raise the Jolly Roger! The only thing missing for us was home runs.
