  1. 20 runs in 2 games to the 2nd worst offense in baseball. Ben brown game 1 nlds starter

  2. Special stuff right there. Losing games is part of the game, but losing in this fashion is all sorts of funky.

Bet KC wish they could hit against Brown and Rea every game.

  3. Too bad the commentators or post game show don’t address the poor approach at the plate that this team has had lately.  Home run or nothing for this club lately.

Pitching was poor 2/3 games this series, but what happened to the approach from the beginning of the season?  Lets address that.

  4. If cubs lost every series and won one game each series (counting 2 of 5 vs MIL in Aug), they would finish the season with 80 wins.

First half setup them up for success. But it’s very obvious this team needs much better pitching. I know a lot of people want a 3b. But at this point, just get SP better than AAAA and that’ll be worth 5+ more games in the win column.

  5. Terrible series loss but Shaw breakout homestand I’m leaving here with something

  6. can’t play defense on balls that end up in the bleachers. hopefully this lights a fire under Jed’s ass to go out and get starting pitching.

Rea needs to be sent to the pen, Brown sent back down, and Horton to be our 5th starter if needed in the playoffs. Boyd and Shota are the only reliable guys right now. Taillon is a fringe starter coming back from injury.

we need two bonified starters if we want to make a run in the playoffs. otherwise this feels like a team that gets bounced first round of the playoffs.

  7. Having the easiest 2nd half schedule doesn’t matter if you don’t win the fucking games. Can’t believe I let this team get my hopes up yet again.

  8. Team has enough quit for a whole division. Really hard to be proud with how bad this team is

  9. On a positive note, Shaw has been good at the plate since the all-star break!! Happy to see that. Now, please hurry up and get us some SPs!

  10. We had to win this series. So disappointing and Brewers are up 6-2. Oh well, on to Friday.

  11. They don’t have the heart. Brewers are unstoppable. I’m tired of teams that don’t give a shit about winning.

  12. All the holes they never filled or filled with guys they needed to “out-perform projections” are going to sink the ship.

HAVE to take 2 or even 3 from the White Sox and then you have to take 2 from the Brewers. As soon as they start playing this game of “we’re only 2 back. We’re only 3 back” when you were running away with the division 3 weeks ago, you’re going to end up settling for a Wild Card spot and likely running into a team with actual starting pitching depth that can win 3rd wild card game.

I get the Brewers have been playing out of their mind and will likely regress, but if they lose this division, I don’t see how Jed has a job with the Cubs next year.

  13. It could be worse. The cardinals are currently losing 5-0 to the Rockies so I choose to laugh at them FTC

  14. I’m once again asking for us to trade for a starting pitcher or two right now. Stop waiting.

  15. This was just an awful series to watch. I personally do not feel very good about this team moving forward. Their approach at the plate is home run or bust, and we keep punting games putting pitchers who would get rocked in a rec league game out there. It’s fuckin frustrating and anybody in this sub could have told you the pitching would be an issue this year even before Steele went down

  16. We got the White Sox, they’ve got the Marlins. Both teams can be feisty.

  17. You all go crazy the cub win, however losing one go against what’s being finally built. Season a marathon trades are going to happen we got a great record I’m happy

  18. Fire Jed man, just a poorly built team. Season is a marathon and we built a team to win a sprint race. Come out the gates smoking hot to sell more tickets and then fall flat on our faces

  19. These things happen. Bummer. That said, we need to make some moves regardless. We have holes and in a best of X series, those holes will be exploited.

  20. Not sure how folks watch this team and think we should go in for anything trade deadline wise. Don’t bet the farm to get bounced in the WC
