Houston Astros vs Arizona Diamondbacks – FULL GAME HIGHLIGHTS | July 23, 2025 MLB Season
He’s working him away with cutters and sweepers. Now a 20 pitch first for Faud 2 is bounced to third for Suarez and Brandon Thought took a little bit of work but Strands the lead off walk. Diamondbacks coming up looking to avoid this sweep. Pretty much in this series haven’t been able to capitalize. Marte sends the first one out to left and it’s gone. [Applause] Well, you can say this. He didn’t walk him. Gino taking a home run swing and a fast ball up and away. And Walter has his first strike out. The trails this one early. One zip. Naylor skies it near. Shortstop and Dubon is under it. pops it up. Lazy fly to shallow center. Here comes Corbin. And there’s quickly two outs in the second. And he rolls that into right field. A two out single. The first hit for the Astros. One and two on Randall Gri. Here’s the change up and he gets his second strike out. Oh, that was a little off the plate. And he’s got a knock, baby. Two out hit. Dunks it into left for Bla1 Alexander ahead of Heraldo Purdomo. [Music] Now he’s got a base hit in his first at bat today. Blaze on the run. He’s headed for third. Back-to-back two out hits for the Diamondbacks ahead of Catel Marte. McCann hangs on to the foul tip. There’s that sinker into the right. He fought picks up strikeout number two. Pretty deep to center. Trl under the home run porch and right in front of the 413 mark. Corbin gave it a ride, but it’s out number one. Not part of the Diamondback’s colors except on Serpientes day. trying to leg one out. Wickham from third makes a sharp play. Oh, and then he just puts the sinker right on the corner. He just carved him up right there. Diaz just pokes it over the head of Suarez and into left. One out single. Just the second hit for Houston. Yeah. went with a sinker away that time and Fa picks up strikeout number four. Spun him around with a sinker. And the second walk for Fault. Two on and two out now for Hmel. And it backs up Whitam at third. Walter with a nice quick one, two, three inning. Three outs on eight pitches for the Houston lefty, but he trails it one zip. Whitam goes again swinging a miss. McCann the throw and he’s in there. But that home run is certainly a welcome sign. Hopefully that’s the start of a turnaround here when they need it most. Hits it hard to third. Whitam has purdoma. It’s the second time in as many games they have run into an out at third base with a play right in front of them. Great. 79 pitches through five. And Walker gets back in the hit column. He got the sinker and knocked it against the bullpen fence. He’s got his fifth hit in the series and his second double. This is belted pretty deep right center. Corbin Carroll all the way to the wall and he plays it off the wall. Walker had to hold up. They’re going to have to stop him at third. On the ground is short. Walker comes home. Purdomo can’t pick it up, but everybody’s safe. We’re tied at one. They’ve got some right hand bats on the bench. Cal Smith and Jose Altuve. That one goes through McCann. Here comes Diaz and he will score. Matthews into second and it’s 2-1 Astros. They take the lead. And that looked a lot like a play we had for a moment there last night. However, in the month of July as that one gets away far enough for so it’s three for 21 with Risp in the series. Carini and Matthews. Matthews chases it down for the first out in the sixth. Doesn’t bode too well for trade deadline. Gino little double clutch. Close but they get the out. Oh no. Wow. Got a fast ball up in the zone and just chopped it well into left field. It gets Treal all the way into third base. Carini on the run. McCann throws through. Here comes Trel. Play at the plate and he’s out of the baseline. They run into an out at home in a one-run game. Houston tried to get tricky. [Applause] in the seventh inning of a one-run game and it stays two to one. Gritic backs up Smith all the way to the wall and the new guy has got it. That’s the rule. First ball goes to the newest defender and Cam Smith had his back up against the wall in right and got another hit here as he pokes it down the left field line. Giner Diaz, three consecutive hits, two of them doubles. Remember Bryce Matthews hit a big two-run homer in the eighth inning last night. Pops up the bunt this time right to Naylor. And Diaz moves into third. Smith hits it out to right for Grien. Two away in the eighth. Gave up just the Marte leadoff homer. Purdomo trying to get it started and he shoots it down the line. He’s got his second double today. He’s got base hits in six consecutive plate appearances. Wow. [Applause] Base hit for Catel. They’ll stop at third as Cam Smith gets it quickly back in there. Left on left. Corbin blasts it down the line and here we go. Pomo will score. Catel stops at third. Corbin way over second. Shawn Larkin puts on the brakes. [Applause] First pitch is lifted out to right center. Cam Smith coming in and nobody can get there. Everybody had to hold up. Marte comes across and we’re tied at three. Naylor found the Bermuda Triangle and it dropped in between three Astros. Still just one out. Randall hits a double play ball right at short and Matthews turns it. They get the equalizer home at least. So it’s 33 as we go to the ninth. Short trying to butt his way on. One play for Kevin and Short with good speed. A long stretch there by Naylor, but Mark Riper says safe at first. Field alignment with short at first. Gets a bunt down again. Again, Kevin’s on it. And again, the Astros Bunter beats it out for the base hit. Naylor came off the bag, they say. Bounced one up the middle and throw into center. Short will score the go-ahead run. TL’s into third and Christian Walker gives the Astros the lead. Let’s go. Chops it up. Foul Brown for Naylor first base side. This ball usually on the outer part of the plate and then backs it up with that slider. It’s been all fast balls from Kevin Ginkle nearly in this appearance. For three so far today and her gets him to chase that fast ball for run out number one. over the mound. Slowly hit Matthews at second. Well, it’s not all been about the bat for the kid. Matthews at second base. Romo bloops it into left. There you go. And a chance for Catel. Three and two to Catel Marte. Oh no. Oh no. [Applause] Another one of those back door sliders that was never in the strike zone ever. That’s a called strike three to end the game by plate umpire Brian Wall.

Astros on top of the AL
Never count the stros out !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That last pitch was a strike, I have no idea why the TV overlay showed it so far outside.
We are Inevitable
Arizona needs to rebuild. Swept by the Astros who have multiple players out. I think they will sell off their players because they obviously have quit for the year.
Is Isaac Paredes on the 10-day disabled list? Will he be ready for next year's World Baseball Classic? Will he be able to play for Mexico in a second consecutive tournament?
