hi! my friends and i are big plane nerds because we live in the flight path in san diego. the kraken plane just landed in front of two of my friends so them immediately texted me and i freaked out. i’m curious though – would this be for team use? or does the same jet get used for other commercial flights when not being used by the kraken?

  1. could be wrong but usually I think airlines that use sports teams liveries aren’t used for team flights, most teams charter larger airliners like 757s or 767s (in some cases, like the Arizona Cardinals, a 777).

  2. It gets used during the season too! I don’t think it’s the Kraken’s plane but just a livery for Alaska. I actually flew on either this plane or another with the livery from Seattle to Boston back in December!

  3. I believe this is just a standard passenger plane. Just Kraken branded.

If you look at its flight history it performs 3 to 4 flights a day.

I am pretty sure the Kraken’s team plane is bigger than this one too.

  4. Pretty sure this is just a livery on one of the Alaska jets, not a plane for the Kraken per se. Alaska/Horizon have a bunch. I’ve seen Huskies, Ducks, Beavers, Mariners, Seahawks etc.

  5. It’s always for normal passenger use. It’s simply a special paint job. Alaska airlines has several similar planes including ones for the Oregon State beavers, Washington huskies, Washington state Cougars, and Seattle Mariners. They also have had several Disney themed planes.

  6. It’s just a regular passenger airplane. The kraken don’t fly on it during the season. They have a contract with Air Canada. Teams are split between Air Canada and Delta for in season air travel

  7. The Kraken charter with Delta and are usually on one of their ancient 757s equipped in an all business class 72 seat configuration

  8. iirc the actual Kraken charter plane is an Air Canada plane. During the season you can track it leaving out of Boeing Field

  9. The real question is whether there’s enough room in the first class for a 6’3’’ goalie.

  10. The Kraken branded Alaska Airlines passenger plane that is part of their corporate partnership deal is not the same plane the players travel on.

  11. The Kraken actually fly on a chartered Air Canada plane. This is just a regular passenger plane.

  12. Yes. It does. The tail is 933- in honor of 93.3 home of the Radio Station. It’s constantly flying. 😊
