[NBC SPORTS] NBC Sports finalized its NBA game analyst and play-by-play rosters today with the additions of analysts Brad Daugherty, Derek Fisher, Robbie Hummel, Austin Rivers, and Brian Scalabrine, and play-by-play voice Michael Grady… and will use an AI-generated voice of the late Jim Fagan

  1. I can’t put into words how much I hate the idea of using AI voices of deceased people like this.

I don’t care if the families are getting paid – when someone dies, it’s ok to let the next generation take over. We cannot get into this loop of popular voices from the past being the ones of the future too.

Not to mention this is probably just the first step of insane corporate AI greed in the NBA. An AI voice of Jim Fagan probably costs less than any actual living commentator.

This is just a horrible decision and I will actively avoid any games with that voice playing. RIP Jim.

  2. AI voices need to be completely rejected, it’s all so they can pay less to the family of the deceased than they would for a living recognizable human announcer.

As much as I would love to hear Fred call our games again, I wouldn’t be for it

Also, sucks that we are losing Brad, I wonder who will fill in as no way Austin does all 82
