My cousin is a die hard Mavs fan and hasn’t spoke to me since even at his sons first birthday but that might be my fault for the whole lakers luka set.

After Lakers beat Knicks without AD I was a happy as hell then this trade had me questioning reality my brain really couldn’t fathom this happening for the whole week.
Third clip with the luka jersey guy in shambles at the bar was hilarious
This was so shocking. I remember feeling completely stunned.
It was the first trade that didn’t felt real. I was in disbelief for hours afterwards.
I never questioned if it was fake because I found it late so a ton of people had reported it by that point.

One of those days that you feel like you live on a simulation or some shit, happened to me too with Kobe’s death.
I’ve been following the NBA for 20 years and this is the trade that made me question reality. It’s that absurd. no one aside from Nico,Patrick and Rob/Jeanie have any idea that a 25 yr old superstar that just went to the Finals prior to this season was going to be traded to one of the biggest market teams ever.
And people still discuss who the face of the league is
I’m so glad we all record ourselves 24/7 now so a trade like this can be memorialized forever.

Texted my wife “HOLY SHIT. WTF” without any context at first. She thought something bad happened and got scared and then pissed when I explained. Lol

That day was so crazy, I found out about the trade from an ALGS stream. Still couldn’t believe it for a couple days after
I barely journal a couple of times a year—only on the most special/weird days, and I did it for the Luka trade this year which is something.
I sincerely thought this trade was to distract from current political events. It was so surreal. Why, as an owner, would you make a trade that would cause every nba fan in existence to instantly laugh at/hate you for eternity(
