St. Louis Cardinals vs San Diego Padres 7/25/25 MLB Pick & Prediction | MLB Betting Tips

We got WNBA action as well as they’re back from the All-Star break and before you know it, we’re going to blink and be at the the NFL Hall of Fame game as well to kick off the NFL preseason. I can assure you we’re going to be uh working to make you some hefty amounts of coin going forward. And it’s going to start here with this matchup between the St. Louis Cardinals and the San Diego Padres’s. The St. Louis Cardinals sending out Miles Michael for the start in this one while the Padres’s will counter with Nick Paveta. And you know, Miles Michael coming off another rough outing last time out. Now granted, it was on the road. It was still five runs allowed on four hits. skip a pair of home runs at Chase Field against the Arizona Diamondbacks. And that’s now three starts out of the last four where Michael has allowed at least five runs in the start. Now granted, all three of those again did come on the road, but I’m still not, you know, giving Michael the benefit of the doubt even being back at home because you look at the home and road splits. He still has a 4.19 erra at Bush Stadium this season. Granted, again, the the majority of his extra base hits have come on the road. He’s allowed 20 uh if I’m doing some quick math here, 29 extra base hits compared to 13 at home, but he’s also had three more starts on the road, 11 more innings pitched on the road. So, like I said, I’m not willing to just sort of forget about that. And you know, the thing about the Padres’s is that yes, this Padres’s offense has struggled mightily in the last couple weeks up against right-handed pitching, fourth worst numbers in team OPS against righties. They’re hitting 233. The isolated power numbers haven’t been very good. But for me, Miles Michaels is one of those pitchers that can be a bit of a slump buster. If your team is struggling, nothing’s going to cure what else you like facing Miles Michael, especially at Bush Stadium. And I think this is a Padres’s lineup that is going to start to heat up a little bit. You know, this is a lineup that, like I said, it won’t continue to struggle like this for very long. And Michael, you know, the last time I saw him pitch against these Padres’s at Bush Stadium last year in August, it was five and two/3s. He gave up four runs on six hits. and it ended up being a seven to five win for the San Diego Padres’s in that one. And I think that the Padres’s will be able to get to Mikeless here. Nick Paveta on the other hand though, even though the St. Louis Cardinals have been playing their better baseball at home all season long, that’s why they have a winning record at 29 and 20 this season. Nick Paveta has been pitching out of his mind over the last month. He comes back first start out of the All-Star break. six innings of one-run ball, five strikeouts, was his lowest in the last month or so. But he’s had a 0.57 ERA in his last five starts. He’s given up one run or less in all five of those outings. He’s made it into the sixth. He’s almost made it six full in all those outings. And the Padres’s behind Nick Paveta have one of the best bull penises in baseball in the last two weeks at 1.53. To me, this is just a case of, you know, the uh the Padres just having a clear starting pitching advantage here. The bullpens have been solid on both sides. St. Louis’s bullpen in the last two weeks at 2.16 RA, but I think it’s going to be a lot easier for the Padres’s to get to Michael than it will the Cardinals to get to Pavetta here. So, I’m going to roll with the Padres’s being favorite on the road here and that’s going to be my free pick.
