Thanks very much, Budley. Here we go. Game two of the four game series between the Padres’s and Cardinals. And the first pitch is fouled down the right field line off the bat of just mentioned it down to third and it’s picked by Aronado. He plants and throws for out number one. Grounded back to Michael. That was a sinker that was high and fly ball headed towards left center field. Back goes Scott. He’ll have room and he makes the catch for out. Stay high. Little looper and stepping in front is Croninworth. He just jumped it. Solo shot that was kind of an insurance run as part of the two-run win for the Cardinals. And that strike three gets him. and Fondrak. Two down and Berles lifts it in the air back at third. Glacius and Sheets and it’s Sheets in foul ground to make the catch this year. It’s up to 231. The other thing they were trying to do guys is to keep the ball in the ballpark. And Mud, you were talking about this earlier. Oh, what a nice catch. That many, many times. You betcha. There’s a ground ball right side as Donovan slides to his left and throws out Gavin Chef. I’m not talking about stuff on the corners up and down and uh east and west more stay away from the middle of the plate. This one has flipped to first. There’s a bunt and Paveta is going to field and throw in time. Sacrifice is complete. Contraras to third ar with one away. One two pitch on the ground is short as Bogard took a look but he’ll go to first. Run will score. smother and recover. 2-2 is in the air to right field as Fernando battles the sunshine out there in right that makes the catch. Right. And they’ll say, “Okay, well, a month ago he said he didn’t want to get traded.” But to your point, well, things change, right? And often times what the general managers will do is they’ll go and talk to guys and say, “Look, are you open to right field?” And Walker moving back. It’s going to be over his head. He couldn’t see it. Lost it in the sun and Fernando’s headed for second base. shows the throw. It’s off the mark and it’s second and third with one away. Arise just foul outside of first. Turn that curve ball around real quickly and to left short left. Berles coming in to make the catch and Diaz will have to stay right where he’s at. No chance. Aado grounds a torch short. Mason WS got it. His throw is good and the inning is over side of that pitcher plate. And I tell you what, whether that’s the difference, the numbers are a proof of that. Little flip to Pavetto. Got over there nicely in time. On the ground and the backand Cronorth will pop up and fire to first for the out. Nice play by Jake Cronorth. Two down. popped up first baseway arise. Feet on the dirt of the infield will make the catch and end the inning. A one, two, three inning. Fly ball right field as Walker moves back a few steps and makes the catch. And a liner towards a gap in left center field. That’s going to get down. scores Contrarus, scores Aronado. It’s a two-run double and it’s three nothing St. Louis. Popped up third base. Glacius steps in to foul ground and makes the catch for out number two. Ground ball right side picked there by Croninworth and he’ll fire to first for the out that will end. get asked as well, what’s your preparation routine to get ready for a ball game? This one is to deep left field, but it’s going to be out number one. Pretty much how we do it. Go about it. I didn’t really realize it for as many years, but uh it’s a routine. Yeah. From center as Scott comes running all the way in to make to keep it off the record. It’s all good, but we appreciate their cander. Line to left field for Fernando. This will get back to the wall as he’s headed for second base. Sperles will dig it out and get back in. Cruising into second with a two out double. He’s been redot here in St. Lou. Fly ball right field for a rise. Back goes Walker. Still going to the warning track and Walker runs it down all the way back there on the dirt. We started late. Wow. Makes it even more amazing. Swinging a man. Striking out is Victor Scott to begin. That is strike three. Alec Berles will ground one. Croninworth gets him at first base. Nice play by Jake. Alec Berles will ground one. Croninworth gets him at first base. Merryold to center field. Scott coming in on the sinking line or he dives to make the catch. need some slug. Yeah. Ground ball back to the mound as Matz goes to second for one on to first. That’s two when he’s thrown six plus innings. There’s a gapper towards left center field. Now we’ll get back to the track on the wall as Contrarus cruises into second base with the leadoff double. Start the sixth inning. Well, Contrarus is hot and uh to finish is actually the managers Dave Roberts and Mike Schil. Yeah, that’s a short stop. Boards will go to first base for the out as taking third base in front of him is Contraras. Free run for the Red Birds. In field in and a fly ball to short right field. Fernando coming in. We’ll see. Is Contraras not going to try it? It was way too shallow. Inadvertent contact rolled down the first baseline. Pavetta will apply the tag. Grounded back over the mound to second base. And because it went so slowly, they’re only ground ball right side. Donovan for out number two as Glacius takes third pitch. Swinging a miss and he goes chasing after a curveball away. That is strike three. Bunt didn’t do it last night. Bunt for a base hit. There’s a popup that has Bogard drifting back now giving way to Merrill and Jackson comes in and over to make the catch. There’s another rest tonight. Yep. Softly lined and caught on the backhand by Bogards. That will end the seven. Fly ball right center field. deeply struck but plenty of room for Scott shy of the track. He’ll make the catch for out number one on the ground towards shortstop. Win will flip to second base for the out there. He was going to try to take it himself. Uh that would have helped. Now ball towards third. Arnado has got to hurry and he gets it there just in time. Nice play. Chopped right side towards second. Cronorth will go to second to get the lead runner and that’s all they’ll get. Two pitch on the ground towards shortstop. Flip to second for one on to first for two. Double play. That’ll work. Nicely done. That is strike three looking. 102. Croninart takes strike one. 102. In the air to right field over goes Walker to make the catch on the run. This takes off for second base and they will throw down there. It goes into center though. Gets up and heads to third. So he made contact with the swinging a miss. He struck him out and that’s the ball game. Padres gets shot out. had 11 hits but no runs. Cardinals have taken the first two games of the series. Hard to explain really. It really is. It’s a conundrum. Last night 7

  1. That's the Padres offense in a microcosm…inept in most innings, very rarely clutch, with most of their batters putting very little fear in the opposition pitchers…
