The first block of 49ers training camp is in the books. And here’s what you missed in the opening three days at the SAP performance facility. Day one kicked off with a new look to the practice fields after renovations during the offseason. And the team is running on upgraded fields with fresh natural grass. Right away, Brock Pury and George KD set the tone for camp with a deep ball connection. But the defense answered fast with back-to-back interceptions from Jason Pinock and D. Winters. Players to watch on the Dline. Rookies Mel Williams and Alfred Collins turned heads with their size and talent, even earning a ton of praise from Nick Bosa. Day two brought Hall of Famers to the sidelines. Patrick Willis and Bryant Young were on hand. Plus, veterans like Trent Williams, Nick Bosa, and Christian McAffrey joined team drills, raising the tempo. The playoff camp so far has to be undrafted free agent Isaiah Na’s incredible 50yard diving grab over defenders. On day three, the secondary dominated Ronaldo Green logged back-to-back pass breakups. Jayear Brown snagged a pick and the tight ends Braden Willis, Ross Dwelly, and Jake Tonis showed off some serious hands getting George KD fired up for each of their catches.
