Phoenix Suns TRADE Nick Richards To The Brooklyn Nets? | NBA Trade Rumors
So, could the Phoenix Suns be trading away Nick Richards to the Brooklyn Nets this 2025NBA off season? Well, here on the screen is a trade proposal or a trade idea from Fadeaway World.net. The link to this article is down below in case you want to go ahead and check it out for yourself, but this trade would see the Phoenix Suns receiving Jaylen Wilson, the 2026 second round draft pick, and the Brooklyn Nets receiving Nick Richards. So far from a blockbuster deal, but just kind of breaking this trade down, giving my initial thoughts on it, it’s actually a really solid move for both sides. Now, from the Suns perspective, they’re flipping, you know, a decent asset in the form of Nick Richards into future assets. So, uh, Jaylen Wilson could perhaps be a roster player. That’s great. Plus, you’re getting an additional asset in the form of a 2026 second round draft pick, which they could definitely use because of the lack of draft capital that the Phoenix Suns currently sort of have um in their system. It’s never a bad thing to flip assets who maybe don’t have a super long-term future um on the team, especially once this team wants to get good and flip that for another player, take another chance um in the NBA draft and hope that you can maybe hit on that in the future. So, for a bit of a rebuilding or I guess should probably say retooling team in Phoenix, it’s never a bad thing to flip assets for younger talent as well as draft capital. So, not flashy, but good asset management right here from the Suns perspective. Now, from the Brooklyn Nets’s perspective, I kind of like this trade as well. like relatively speaking, you’re not giving up too much for a proven NBA player like Nick Richards. Nick Richards has the potential to be like a 10 and 10 guy, a double double machine. Uh perhaps he can play behind Nick Claxton in the front court. Maybe if they trade Nick Claxton, get back some draft capital elsewhere. Maybe Nick Richards is the new starting center for the Brooklyn Nets in 2025 26. So lots of possibilities there. But also what the Nets have to do in my opinion is leverage their draft capital. They’ve accumulated a ton of draft picks over the last couple years. and if they’re able to maybe flip some of that, it’s really not that much of a subtraction to them and they get sort of a guaranteed player in the form of Nick Richards as compared to kind of testing your luck in the draft where you never know what’s going to happen. But odds would say probably not going to be someone as good or as valuable as someone like Nick Richards. So, not a bad deal. If I had to pick a winner of this trade, I’m going to go with the proven commodity of Nick Richards going to Brooklyn. But, as always, leave your thoughts.
