🚨Miami Dolphins Sign MULTIPLE Cornerbacks! Dolphins Add Jack Jones & Cornell Armstrong
Breaking news, Miami Dolphins fans. Chris Greer has added a corner, Jack Jones. But that’s not also the only corner he signed. Just a couple days ago, he signed Cornell Armstrong, who joins this Dolphins team after being drafted by Miami in the sixth round of the 2018 draft. We’re going to go through each of these corners, talk about why they sign multiple, and why it’s not a player like Asante Samuel Jr. or Rasul Douglas. But we’ll break down all of the news in today’s show. This is why you subscribe to the channel though because we will have you covered whenever Miami Dolphins make any moves or any news drops. I’m on vacation. We’re still making things happen here early on a Saturday morning. So, join Dolphins today for the top coverage on the T team in YouTube. All right, but we’ll start with why Miami felt the need to sign multiple corners. And it’s well, one because their cornerback room stinks. Number two, it’s because one of their depth guys and veterans, Arty Burns, suffered a torn ACL on the first day of practices. Now, I know this is not going to be a shock to anyone when I say this, but Arty Burns was never some someone who was a lock to be on this 53man roster. And every time we talked about signing a corner, it’s because players like Arty Burns probably weren’t going to be good enough to help this football team win games on Sundays in September and October. But Arty Burns was certainly someone who could be a bench player, depth piece, as well as a just solid camp body in July and August. But with him gone, Miami had to sign a couple guys. And that’s where I think Cornell Armstrong kind of fits in. I think it’s more of a camp body than a player that might be able to impact this football team. But we’ll get to him more in depth a little bit later. I now do want to talk about Jack Jones, which by the way, we said subscribe to the channel earlier in the show. On June 15th, I made a video talking about a cornerback Miami should look at to potentially sign. It was Asante Samuel Jr. I’m looking back at my script right now on June 15th because I know I talked about it. I said that Jack Jones could be an underrated corner that the Miami Dolphins could go out and sign. I knew it would be extremely cheap. it would be a one-year veteran deal, which is this is exactly what it happened for Miami. And Jack Jones has a lot of experience. He has covered and started a lot of games, 1,900 snaps. And his numbers are pretty solid. He’s only given up a 60% completion percentage. He has 16 PBUS and seven interceptions and has only given up a 92.6 QB rating when targeted. This is also a big play corner. He hunts interceptions and it does burn him at times. There’s no doubt about it that he’ll try to make a play, he’ll try to jump an out route or jump a slant in a double move, get some torched and he’s in trouble. But he’s a guy with a ton of talent. He was drafted in the fourth round by the New England Patriots back in the day and he got off to a really hot start in New England, but ultimately was released due to disciplinary actions. latched on with the Las Vegas Raiders where he got off to a really good start again in the second half of the 2023 season, but in 24 he just was too much of a headache for the Raiders. He got benched in week three for lackluster effort. Um it’s just not a good look for him. But he did lead the team in pass breakups and interceptions for that season. Gave up eight touchdowns as well. So like I mentioned, he’ll make plays. He’s really good when the ball is in the air coming at him. Um, but he gives up a lot of big plays due to his liking to try to get an interception and take it back to the crib. But when you think about what Miami has a corner, I would argue that Jack Jones is the most talented cornerback on this Dolphins football team. I I I really would make that statement. And it’s not like he’s competing with a lot of people who have a lot of talent. So, no offense to the guys on the team. Um, but Jack Jones would have been a first or second round pick like Cam Smith was, I suppose, if he never had those concerns coming out of Arizona State. And the reason why it was such an interesting fit with him in Las Vegas is because he worked handinhand with Antonio Pierce, who was the Raiders head coach in Arizona State. So, those two had a really good working relationship. And that’s the one thing that gives me cause for concern here is that if he had to get benched in Las Vegas playing for Antonio Pierce, who might have given him the best relationship that he could possibly have in the National Football League, you wonder if he’s going to be able to make it work without Antonio Pierce, but that’s a story for a different day. Do you like the signing of Jack Jones? Let me know. Type Y for yes, type N for no. Get your thoughts down in the comments section on if you’re excited about Jack Jones at today’s pin comment. Now, I said this in June 15th. I’m looking back at the script again. I said he’d be the most talented corner on the roster. There just is a lot of baggage, unfortunately. And it’s tough to see and wonder if he’s going to fit here. This is like a player that you try to sign if you have an established culture and a good locker room, which we know Miami has not had the best one in the past couple of years, but they’re trying to make it a better one. And I think we’re on the right step with how Mike McDaniel has really approached some of these players in terms of discipline and just setting the tone. and you just add a couple high character guys to the draft and Jonah Sava and um Kenneth Grant. You make a couple good signings like Ashen Davis and Melofanu James Daniels and now it feels like this locker room and culture is heading in the right direction. So maybe Jack Jones can fit in here, but he’s an absolute wild card. There’s no doubt about it. It does concern me a little bit. Hey, but it is what it is. All right, let’s move over from Jack Jones, not a Cornell Armstrong, because this player is really not going to impact Miami in a massive way, if at all. Like I mentioned earlier in the video, he was originally drafted by the Dolphins in the sixth round of the 2018 NFL draft. He has bounced around between the Houston Texans, the Atlanta Falcons, and uh well, he hasn’t played football in a long time. Not to say he hasn’t been on practice squads and trying to play, but he hasn’t appeared in an NFL game during the regular season since 2022 when he was a member of the Atlanta Falcons. Now, he actually got a lot of play for the Falcons. Had 33 tackles. Um, and he was active. I remember actually covering the Falcons. Fun fact, that’s where I started my career. Chad Sports was covering the Falcons. And, um, yeah, he was not very good. So, the fact that Miami had to come back to sign Cornell Armstrong was a uh surprising one. He didn’t play the past couple of years. This was amongst tryyous. They had a lot of people try out for the Dolphins team on the first day of training camp and then Arty Burns got hurt and then they ended up signing Cornell. CJ Henderson, the former first round pick and player who was really, really solid in the UFFL this past year, was a player that Miami looked at to potentially sign. So, they were clearly looking for cornerbacks. And a lot of you are probably then going to ask, well, why isn’t it Rousul Douglas or Sante Samuel Jr.? It’s a fair question to ask. A lot has come out between Rousul Douglas and the Miami Dolphins. And apparently, according to Josina Anderson, the Dolphins have offered Rousul Douglas a contract multiple times. They offered obviously a deal when they had him in their headquarters last April and May, which he declined. Barry Jackson has done an excellent job reporting that Miami has kept in contact and has been in active discussions and negotiations with Rousul Douglas, but nothing has materialized at any point. Josina Anderson reported that Miami offered Rousul Douglas another contract offer on Thursday, just a day after Ry Burns tore his ACL. So, they spun the block and was like, “All right, Rousul, we really want to sign you.” Well, he declined it once again. Apparently, Rousul Douglas is receiving interest from multiple teams across the National Football League, which shouldn’t surprise me. He’s a veteran corner that has the capability to start. He had a really poor season for the Bills last year, having a QB rating of targeted when of 124 124, excuse me. He just didn’t have a good year. But someone Miami clearly views as a good fit in their scheme. Now the question we have to ask ourselves is does signing Jack Jones just completely eliminate the idea of adding Russul Douglas? Cornell Armstrong certainly does not. But if Jack Jones comes in and plays well in training camp and you trust that his head’s on straight and could be a good player for you on a one-year deal, well then yeah, you’re probably not going to sign another corner. So that’s the fascinating thing here. If Jack Jones ends up working out, uh Miami is probably not going to sign an Asante Samuel Jr. or a rasool Douglas. Those two ultimately might just be a little too more expensive for Chris Greer’s liking, especially with where the Dolphins are in terms of cap space. So, it seems like Rousul Douglas is really something that isn’t going to happen unless he just lowers lowers his expectations significantly in terms of what he is going to get financially compensated by. Um, but we’ll be here to cover it all. So that’s why you subscribe to the channel and if any other news happens around the Miami Dolphins, we will certainly have you covered. Ok at least it's better than not signing people
Working day, night, and early in the morning, keep it up 👍
So we have a cb room full of pratice sqaud and 2nd stringers. So lets hire two more that are pratice squad members. Not really intriguing to me. We haven't improved any. Not a good move. Just a move
Yes
Camp body's nothing more
PHINZ UP
I can’t wait to see what the Rivals jersey look like… I’m definitely getting it if it looks like the Miami Vice Miami heat jersey…

Another practice squad player or camp cut this team doesn't make any sense and this channel makes every signing seem like the player is the second coming of Woodson ,or someone that's actually good 😅
Dolphins will always be headed in the wrong direction as long as they have a clueless GM Chris Grier Mr. Magoo
