NBA LIVE! Golden State Warriors vs Phoenix Suns | July 26, 2025 | Warriors vs Suns | 2K25

it away. Thank you guys. The modern NBA certainly owes a debt to those 7 seconds or less. So exciting to see. No doubt about it, David. Thanks. A lot of focus on the guard matchup tonight, Greg. Both these teams rely on their back courts to lead the way for them. And if anything, it should make for an entertaining basketball game, and it becomes a little bit of a chess match when it’s a backcourt duel. Those are always fun. And now the Golden State Warrior starters. And for the Suns, we’ve got Williams, Dylan Brooks out there with Dunn. Then there’s Deon Booker. And it’s Green in at the one. And it’s the Warriors to start out. And here is Curry. Golden State moving it around to the middle and the dunk to finish it off. A beauty. Jimmy Butler has that kind of room and he’s going to throw it down. It’s Brooks on the wing. Booker looking around. Puts it up from 15. They grab their own miss. Don Williams trying to break free. The layup missed. Well, he creates such a great opportunity right at the rim and he just can’t get it to go even with the defense not really a factor. Now here’s Brooks. Jimmy Butler unable to get his last shot to go. Here’s Brooks. He gets that one. Oh, nice play from Brooks down in the paint. Not afraid to get physical on the inside. And that outstanding drive and finish brought to you by Mobile One and putting that pressure on the rim. That’s what it’s all about. Threatening with that attack. Lets the three fly. Rejected by Booker. And it’s out of bounds. Last touch by Booker. And we got to take a second look to admire that outstanding block. And making a statement right away, letting them know they won’t get any easy ones when he’s around. Curry against Green. outside Curry. Clock is at three. And a clever defender. I like seeing Brooks be that test on this end and just disrupt it. Back to Booker. puts it up from 12 and the rebound goes to the Warriors. Green left side makes it off the glass. Draymond Green showing off some big man handles. Great job from the point forward there. Al Greg, a disappointing ending to the playoffs last season, certainly for the Phoenix Suns. Well, came in the top seed in their conference only to make a second round exit after a grueling game seven. So, this season might be revenge time for this group. Booker no good. Warriors have gone two of five here, making 40% so far to start out the game. The pass to Curry. Golden State needs to get off a shot and it’s Devin Booker with the rebound. And that’s how you want to see defense play. Got right up in his face to bother the shot. That’s going to make any scorer uncomfortable when you get that aggressive. Now here’s Green. Devin Booker missing his last shot. Green in the post. Done covering and Green gets it to go. Draymond did a good job of getting some space there and rooting himself to collect outside. Green pass to Brooks. That shot missing. The Warriors go the other way. Wide open look. It’s good. He scores. That’s his first basket after missing his first two attempts. Now one for three and first time out of the game called for Phoenix. And as good as Draymond Green has been on the floor, this guy will be an all-time broadcaster. Already a popular podcast. Great TV studio appearances as well. Come on. Come on. And so here’s Phoenix. They trail by six. Near the three-point line, it’s Booker. And the Suns miss again. Well, he wants to shoot his way out of this cold spill, but the struggles continue. Yeah, he’s got to move on. Forget about this sequence here and and try to find a way to get on the board. Here’s Brooks following the basket by Stephen Kerr. Back to Brooks to end the run and no good that time. Warriors leading by eight. It’s Curry outside. That one’s no good. That makes him one for two. And here’s Brooks. He’ll bring it up for the Phoenix Suns over Green. Phoenix no good that time either. Well, he’s a guy they count on to produce from the mid-range. He doesn’t miss too many open looks from there. A chance to extend the lead to double digits, but it’s no good. They’ve been looking out of sync offensively. Yeah, that their offense has ground to a standstill. Now here’s Booker. No points and the game hit for him. Brooks right side back to Williams. Brooks finds Williams and it’s slammed in by Williams. That’s what he gives you, a big time presence on the glass. And you know what, Greg, once he gets his hands on it, he’s not even thinking about kicking it out. Oh, his competitiveness right now is why the teammates love him. Good D by Booker. And the effort never stops with him. No easy shots when he’s on the floor. Well, it’s about the defensive end and that’s what guys feed off. He gives the effort down there at all times. Here’s Brooks shooting foul as the whistle blows. He’ll shoot two free throws. And there’s a flexibility to Brooks’s game. He can play a specific role for you or he can be a high usage guy. really depends on what a team needs from night to night. Take a break. Take a break. Two shot. And that one falls for Brooks. And both free throws good for Brooks. Warriors leading by four. Shot from free throw range. Green with the rebound. And there hasn’t been anything easy for him in this period. No, I haven’t seen him in in comfortable spots or at least spots we’ve seen in this offensive set that are allowing him to settle in. Booker no good. Golden State’s gone 03 from three-point land. Nothing yet going outside. 11 ft away and he gets the whistle. Two free throws coming up. I tell you what, he earned his money on that foul. The Warriors shooting their first free throws. First trip to the line in this one and at the line last season about 78% as a team. Pretty solid numbers. The first one falls. Some changes for Phoenix. Nick Richards comes in for Williams and Allen subbed in for Dylan Brooks. Moody’s check in for the Warriors. That one misses. So he goes one for two. Suns trail by five. Now Green, he’s still scoreless so far in this one. Booker with no one around. They get it again. Richards off to a good start as he hits his first shot attempt. And they’ve scored several times already here in the first quarter on the inside. From 11 ft away, connects. The jumper drops and the Warriors lead by five. Good, smart, patient play by Jimmy Butler that time. You leave someone that wide open and he’s going to find him. D looking over the floor. Green inside the three-point line and misses it off the right side of the rim inside. Off to a good start as he hits his first shot attempt. And they’ve done well at taking advantage of some late defensive rotations and getting the ball in the paint. Phoenix calls timeout. Well, he’ll run through a wall to win, but sometimes Jimmy Butler can drive his coach up a wall. Despite that tendency though to embrace conflict, this guy is worth it. What Jay’s checked in for Golden State. And it’s Goodwin with the ball for Phoenix. Seven-point differential. And Greg, last season, Butler and Spolstra got into it on the sideline. We all saw it. Uh it was an interesting moment. Yeah, I I think that’s a good way of phrasing it. That manic intensity perhaps necessary at times for a player who competes as hard as Jimmy. So it’s the Warriors now after the Suns pick up two pass to Curry lets it go from deep. Green hand contact on the shot. So he’ll be shooting free throws here. What I appreciate most about Green is his leadership. Strong vocally on and off the floor. And let’s get your take on as on the scoring breakdown for the Warriors. I I like how they’ve worked the ball inside getting looks closer in there and that really helps your offense. Love the passing that they displayed at the start of the game. Great ball movement that’s opening up some chances without really getting deep into the execution. And the first one at the line is good. And so he makes both from the line. Suns trail by seven. Allen outside. Green against O’Neal. Lets it go. Warriors with the rebound. And listen, sometimes even the best of us are going to miss the easiest of opportunities. Phoenix has gone 0 of two from deep here. The dish to Goodwin J with the rebound. Ball stolen. Two points. That one goes. Warriors leading by five. Outside. Curry. Passes it to Moody. Outside. Curry. Five on the clock and it’s green missing. El Phoenix shooting down around 24%. Obviously they’ve struggled. Nice ball movement by Phoenix. And there’s the pass to Goodwin. Kicks to Allen for the three. It’s rebounded by Golden State. Green’s got his sixth rebound on the night. Pass to Moody. Outside Curry and he drops in the way up off the glass. Curry’s got his second bucket tonight. I like it when Stephen Curry gets to the inside and goes up strong. Just wants to convert from there when he gets the chance. Now here’s Goodwin. He’s gotten some minutes, but nothing on the board yet. 131 left in the first quarter. Pass to Moody. Outside. Curry pulls up. It’s hauled in by the Suns. Richard’s got four rebounds in this game. And the call on the shot that sends him to the line and it goes on Draymond Green. Wow. Wow. He got whacked on that one. Shouldn’t be much debate there. The Sun shooting their third and fourth free throw shots of the night. Take a break. Take a break. Two shots. He misses the free throw. Heels checked in for Draymond Green. And that trip coming up empty, missing both. Warriors leading by five. Curry’s shot is good. And the greatest shooter we have ever seen. Curry is just lethal from outside. Covered by Heel. Back to Allen and he gets the whistle for the 3second call. Golden State’s gone one of five from down in the first quarter. Points out there have been hard to come by. Pass to Moody. Here’s Jay. And that’ll be two free throws coming up. Officials on the call with the foul. Yeah, the defender all over. The Warriors have shot 75% at the line tonight going three for four. And he knocks down the first one. He doesn’t get the second one. Sunsil by nine. Here’s Allen. Misses off the left iron. Pretty lax defense there. He’s going to see fewer and fewer chances if he can’t bury those kind of jumpers. Curry on the wing and he can’t extend the lead to double digits. And so it’s the Golden State Warriors ahead by nine as the quarter comes to a close. They’ve set the tone. They love their tempo. They’re going to be very tough to stop. Right back after this break. and glad to have you with us folks. Second quarter of basketball. This game has not exactly been neck and neck, but plenty of time left in this one. And from what we’ve seen so far from the Warriors, how would you grade them? Stingy on the defensive end in that first quarter. They were just getting up into people. just a a great job really of making the game ugly, trying to muck it up a little bit out there. You know, Greg, you played on some gritty teams and we hear that expression getting punched in the mouth and it’s not usually literal, but what’s that look like on the floor? What’s it feel like on the court? Kevin, you you’re just out hustling and out musling the team. At times, you’ll see it. They’ve kind of checked out mentally. And I’ll tell you what, it is one of the best feelings in sport. Booker out there with Jaylen Green. Then there’s Dylan Brooks. Then there’s Dunn. And it’s Richards in at the center filling out the middle. That’s who’s out there for Phoenix. Now, here’s Heel. He’s been patient so far. Nothing on the scoreboard yet. Here’s Curry and he drives in. Second chance effort. And that’s two points on the layup. Butler with the ball up in the air just sniffs that one out and he goes in and rips it down. And here’s Booker from the arc. Not going to go that time. And not a way to get out of a funk. He needs to be looking for good, solid, more efficient shots. Not the wild one he took there. Time now to turn to our sideline reporter, David Aldridge. David, thanks, guys. Now, Jaylen Green is on a mission. He says, “Every time I step on the floor, I always have something to prove to who’s ever in those stands. A lot of people will hate on me or have their opinions. I’m just going to think about that when I step on the floor. I’m going to prove everybody wrong.” Kevin, that’s a great chip to keep on his shoulder, David. Thanks. Here’s Green following the basket by Stephan Kirk. Second chance shot. That one’s in there. The Warrior lead is cut down to nine in the bucket from Booker. And Booker throwing himself into the mix that time to get a second chance opportunity. No good from outside. Suns have gone two of four shooting the ball here in the second. done outside. Now here’s Green. He started close. He can’t cash in from close range. And here’s Heield. He’ll bring it up for Golden State. And with that lightning first step of Jaylen Green, very few defenders have a chance of keeping him in front. And the pass book. He lobbs up the alley pass, hammers the alleyoop through. Booker more and more becoming a double threat, not just to score the ball, but starting to realize he can set up his teammates. Lets it fly and the Warriors miss again. And Greg, one thing about that blinding speed of Green, he’s got to make his reads faster as well. I I think the game is slowing down for him though, Kevin, and that and speeding up his shot release. uh will make him even tougher to deal with. And here are the Warriors now following the three-point attempt by Dylan Brooks. He bounce pass. Shot clock at five. It’s hauled in by Dunn. And here’s Booker from the AR. The shot no good. And it’s the Warriors taking it the other way. closing in on four minutes played here in the second quarter. Offensive rebound trying to get something going. Mark that is his fifth miss in seven shots. They’ve been struggling here on offense. Yeah, a bit of a dry spell for sure. Warriors leading by seven to the paint and a beautiful feed leads to a monster jam. The defense has all eyes on Stephen and he exploits that with a dish. Booker outside to Brooks. Back to Booker and looks like the illegal pick was set. Yep, that’s right. That’ll get their attention. Beyond the leaning, you could see his feet more set on that screen. Easy call. Got to hold firm or you’re going to get a call. And the Suns making a change here. Williams has checked in. Golden State’s gone 02 from deep in the second. Back to Curry. Some nice passing by Golden Stadium to the inside. He’s guarded by Williams. Down low and stolen by Dunn. Brooks with no one around. Good. Great play by Green to set it up. Oh, selfless play right there from Green. He’s all about getting it to the open man. Passes to Sanchos. outside Curry. He’s guarded by Williams. Rebound by Williams. Yeah. Better than giving up the layup. You want to go in there and use the hard foul. They did it there. That’s aggressive attitude defensively. Oh, you you’ve got to be able to deliver when you get a bunny like that. That’s just too easy of a shot to miss. Looking to get it going. Green with the rebound. Green’s got his fourth rebound with that last one here tonight. at the elbow. Williams to the paint. Here’s Green. He makes that one drop. Only a second in five tries. Putting his size to use. Green’s got great length and it helps him there inside. The pass to Suns. from the arc and he makes no mistake on the slam dunk. Scraping and clawing, doing everything he can to grow that lead. Emphatic on the put back stuff. Now team’s having a tough time containing him, attacking all the way there. Phoenix calls timeout and they just can’t seem to get going offensively. Yeah, they’re like a 4-day old soda right now. Just flat. They’re missing shots left and right and just not playing their best. Heat. Heat. And the Warriors making a change here. Moody’s checked in. Suns trail by seven. Outside Green back to Booker. Brooks outside. Pass to Green and Stephon Curry with the foul. That is his first foul of the game. Warriors on D. They’ve led by as many as 11 points. Booker the pass to Green. Just fine to shoot. Here’s Dunn. Nice effort from Draymond. Great position there to contest. Phoenix no good that time either. And foul on the shot. He’ll shoot two at the free throw line. The Warriors have shot 67% on the line tonight. Going for a six. First free throw is good. And Curry still feels like he has a ton to prove. That is championship fiber. That drive helps elevate his game. Catching up on the changes for Phoenix. O’Neal’s check in for Dunn. Grayson Allen comes in for Brooks and Goodwin subbed in for Jaylen Green. And both free throws good for Curry. Now you can tell he’s feeling confident right now at the line. And when he’s on, he can be lights out. Nice ball movement by Phoenix. Pass to O’Neal over Green. And the shot is long. And here’s Green. He’ll bring it up for the Golden State Warriors. They have a nine-point lead. There’s the triple. Warriors the rebound and at last they get one to fall. Green’s got eight points. Well, Draymond doesn’t just come down with the rebound. He goes right back up aggressively to score. The fade away. Draymond Green pulls it in. Green’s got nine rebounds in the game. Getting it done. Six on the shot clock. Here’s Moody and stolen by Booker. Fast break. Here come the Suns. Nobody near Allen. And again, it’s the Suns missing. Now here’s Moody. He’s guarded by Williams. Curry on the wing and the officials calling for a 3second violation and the Suns making a change here. Suns trail by 11 to stop the drought. Great that time from Curry. Golden State’s got nothing but zeros from long range in the second quarter. 0 of four. Now here’s Moody. Six to shoot. Back to Curry trying to find Green. He’s got it now. Allen with the rebound. The Sun shooting just 29% in the second quarter. The offense is suffering. Passes it to Santos. Balls knocked loose and Green gets it to go. Green’s got four points in the quarter. and Matador defense. That’s one of the easiest shots he is ever going to see. Yeah, feels like Christmas right now. Just gift wrapping points. Two free throws coming up and they call the shooting foul. Nice work to get it inside and draw the contact. The Suns have split their free throws right down the middle so far. They’re two for two. Take a break. Take a break. Two shots. And that one misses. Jay’s checked in for the Warriors. So he comes up empty missing both. That’s a a strange trip because typically he’s pretty much money from there. The pass to Santos inside and the slam by Moody. Making the most of the screen. That’s how it’s done. And it’s in the perfect spot. Greg frees him up to get all the way to the bucket. Really not enough help. Their lack of communication on the backside. Now here’s Goodwin still getting warmed up offensively. No scoring yet from him. All the energy is on the other side right now and every miss just makes it worse. Well, the other team is scorching hot and they come down on this end and can’t find a way to get the embers going. Here’s Jay. Here’s Moody. the second effort. He takes it up and lays it in. Moody’s got four this quarter. And a better box out saves them two points there. It didn’t seem like anybody was really aware there to go and collect that rebound in the possession. Here’s Williams. Nice work on the boards. Paying off at the basket. Williams has got his second bucket of the game to go. You don’t want to ever give up points on the boards. That’s the lesson for the team there. That’s a hustle play to save points. 35 seconds left in the first half of basketball. Draymond Green patient enough to know when his teammates are running around. At some point, one’s going to break open. Then he finds him. Some tough offensive sets. They want to turn it around. Yeah, right now you just need a bucket to get some momentum. Williams finds Goodwin. Back to Williams. Not happening with that shot. He’s put up five and made two. Curry looking around over Goodwin. No good there off the double clutch. A dominating first half of basketball and so far hasn’t been close. Warriors ahead. They finish off the second quarter with a massive 16-6 run and a chance now to send it over to David Aldridge standing by Courtside. David, thanks very much. Here with Mike Bluten Hoser. Bud, what are you looking to clean up in the second half? Um, you know, I don’t think our offense is really moving the way we wanted to. um getting up and down the court and pace and you know we got to make a few more open shots but I think we can be a lot better offensively. We’ve seen that from your team coach. I’m sure it’ll show up. Thanks. Back to you. All right. Thank you, David. And folks, don’t go away. After the break, we’ll see you right back here for the start of quarter number three. And now, the 2K Sports Halftime Show. Hey folks, can’t tell you uh how how much it means to us to have you back with us on the halftime show on 2K Sports. Ernie Johnson, uh Kenny the Jet Smith, Shaquille O’Neal. Means the world, doesn’t it? They’re so big. So, it’s Golden State who’s out on top at the half. They are way out in front, leading by 17. Kenny, give us your take. Well, when you pass the ball the way they have, Ernie, I mean, this is the kind of scoring line you expect. The guys are in total sync, and the difference is the ball movement. I mean, they’re moving the ball around and it’s striking. And Shaq, what’ you think about Phoenix? They’re getting abused in the paint defensively, letting their opponents set the tone. You can’t match up physically, you’re toast. That’s what the scoreboard is reflecting right now. Toast with butter. And that does it for our halftime show. We now take you back to Kevin Harland for the start of the third period. Well, we’ve got a second half of Basketball for you. We think it’s going to be pretty good. A big comeback, though, is needed for this game to be competitive, and it probably has to happen quickly. And so Green will bring it up for the Suns. Trailing by 17, setting the floor for the Warriors. Williams finds Green. Booker in the post. Brooks outside. Pass to Booker. Five to shoot. They get it back. Brooks for three. Good on the triple. Brooks has got it going here in the start of this second half. The first points in the third quarter for the Suns. Brooks covering and the layup’s good off the glass. That is a tough two right there from Butler. Really is calling cart. Rugged play and 100% effort. That was a second look at our Mobile One drive. Amazing control on display and a drive like that one can be a knockout punch. Great finish at this juncture. Now here’s Green. shoots over Curry and he hits the jump shot. Green’s got his third basket of the night. What a great option he gives them on every possession. Pass to Green overdone. Another shot and the layup is good. 10 points for him. Pretty good body movement and control as Jimmy Butler’s agility got him to where he wanted to be. Brooks with it. He’s got nine fade away. And that one hits back iron. Warriors leading by 16. Golden State moving the ball around. Curry against Williams outside. Green. Here’s Curry. Jimmy Butler once again. And potentially the switch is flipped here for Jimmy Butler to take over and dominate in this one. Brooks the pass to Booker over Curry. Booker no good. The Warriors have gone three of five to start the second half developing a nice rhythm out there. You know, he’s usually very reliable from out there, but tonight it’s just not going down. Brooks outside and again, it’s the Suns missing and it’s the Warriors ball to the middle. Whistle blows. Basket is good. So, a chance here for a three-point play. The Warriors have gone six of eight from the free throw line tonight. One shot. And that one misses. Suns trail by 20 near the three-point line. It’s Booker. Misses off the right iron. The Warriors have gone four of seven to get things started here in the second half. And there it is for him. Nine points in the game so far. This can make it so much easier for your teammate when you throw that lead pass that gets to him right on the money. whether that’s on the run or in the shooting pocket. Now here’s Green. Six points for him and the Suns miss again to the inside. He’s guarded by Williams. Williams with the steal. They need a bucket in a big way here to regain some confidence. Green the pass to Booker. Green bounce pass. Shot clock at six. Shot to stop the run. And again it’s the Suns missing. Warriors leading by 22 guarded by Green. Great tea that time from Green. Let’s check in with our reporter, David Aldridge. Thanks, Kevin. We’ve heard about player tracking on the court, but now shot tracking is helping players refine their strokes. It measures not just makes or misses, but the arc and the depth and the left to right direction of shots. These systems provide instant feedback to shooters and help them find the bottom of the net. Kevin, back to you. Sign me up. All right, that is a that is a fascinating story, David. Thank you. And guys, let’s get your take on the scoring breakdown so far for the Warriors. They bullied the defense here in the paint. Look at all of those buckets inside. Just hard to defend in the paint. Their attacking of the offensive glass has also been a success story all game long. They’ve been committed to finding those second chance opportunities. And he makes the first. Nick Richards. He’s checked in for the Suns. And the Warriors also making a change. Heels checked in for Curry. Good on both. Warriors leading by 20. on the wing. Heel defended by Booker. He can’t hit. I I still can’t believe that one didn’t fall. From 12 ft out. And again, it’s the Suns missing. And when he he’s this close, he he’s got to make it. The defense was pretty good, but just shouldn’t miss that. In that tight with that much of an advantage heightwise, there’s just not a lot the defense can do. Now here’s Booker. It’s Brooks on the wing. Passes it to Green and Booker kicks to Green. Nice ball movement by Phoenix from downtown. They get it back. Controls the rebound and puts it back up and in. That gives him a double double in this one. 10 points and 10 rebounds. And folks, he did not luck into that one. He knew just where he wanted to be to grab that backboard. Looking to get back on track here. Brooks grabs the board. Well, if you believe in the numbers, that mid-range shot is not a high value shot even with little or no defense on you. To the left side wing and Jimmy Butler with the three. 15 points in the game. Well, Jimmy Butler is a wing that you’re going to have to stay connected to out there. That was a sweet stroke. Started. Phoenix calls timeout. And coach can’t be happy. And and I think I know why. Their defense putting up no resistance inside. No, they’re not preventing them from scoring. And if you can get to a high efficiency shot on the floor, and that’s the paint, you just keep going. Heat. Heat. Heat. Jay’s checked in for the Warriors. And Phoenix has possession. Booker finds Brooks. Green passes to Brooks. Warriors with the rebound. Off target from outside. Phoenix has gone one of three from downtown since halftime. Back to Booker. Green deciding where to go with it. Here’s Brooks. He can’t hit that time. And it’s the Warriors taking it the other way. There’s the pass to Jay. Now here’s healed. And here is Green. He’s got 10. Making the most of the screen. That’s how it’s done. And it’s in the perfect spot. Greg frees him up to get all the way to the bucket. Really not enough help there. Lack of communication on the backside. And it’s still a rare sight to see rebound numbers like the ones he’s had tonight. Well, this kind of effort will energize the team and get you going. Just gobbling up every board. Done outside. Richards no good. Done covering. Rolls it up. It doesn’t go for him. And Phoenix the other way now. Here’s the teardrop. Green with the rebound. Green’s got his 20th rebound here tonight. Saw that coming. Let’s take a second look at that fantastic block. And that has got to help the morale of this team. Let’s see if that sets up a run here. Both teams will make substitutions. The Warriors shooting 39% from the floor at their best. Pass to healed. Now Green, pass to Jay and foul on the shot. So he’ll get a chance at the line. The Warriors have gone six of nine at the line. Shooting two First one falls for He’s perfect from the line. This time Phoenix has gone one of four in three-point shots here in the third. Guys, they’re looking for a spark here. Yeah, a cold stretch offensively for sure. Now, here’s Green. Six points for him. And he’s been a force on the glass all game long. Yeah, it’s almost like he’s got a magnet on that ball here tonight. He’s in the right spot all the time. And we always talk about making your teammate better. That assist was right on target. Here’s Green following the basket by Buddy Heel. And they call an illegal screen here. That’s going to draw a whistle every time down the floor. Not even close to being a legal screen. Yeah, everybody saw that one. That was pretty blatant there. Good checked in for Green. And here’s Heield. He’ll bring it up for the Warriors. Passes it to Jay. And again, it’s the Warriors missing. Ellen outside. They need this one. Offensive rebound. Richards getting tight. He gets the jumper to fall. Richards got four points now in the quarter. And the rebound and the follow show you what he is all about. Gritty and determined with a soft touch to match. Now the pass to Jay. Jacks up a three and that’ll be Golden State as it goes out of bounds. Warriors retain possession. Goes up at the stripe. And it’s Phoenix with the rebound. Richard’s got 13 rebounds in the game. Class eating. Good one. Kicks to Allen. That shot is off and Golden State will go the other way with it. Here’s Heel. And two free throws coming up. Unable to get that one to go with all the contact. buddy right there trying to score and forcing the issue a bit. First trip to the free throw line for him in this one. Shooting two. Free throw drops for Heel. And Heel is a player who you love to see take trips to the free throw line as consistent as he is there. The Warriors making a switch here. Curry’s checked in. And he makes the first but misses the second. Phoenix has gone into a slump here from three point range shooting just one of five here in the third O’Neal issues to Allen. He kicks it to Goodwin down to five on the shot clock. Here’s Richards off on the layup. Curry outside. It’s hauled in by the Suns. Richard’s got rebound number 15 here tonight. Allen outside. It’s good. Coaching staff would like some more shots from that range. Curry pass it to Moody to the middle. uses the glass to finish the layup. That’s the kind of passing right there that makes a difference, not just in that possession, but maybe on your play for the entire game. And the ball out of play. The Warriors will inbound. The Suns making a switch here. Williams has checked in. 43 seconds left to play in the third. Pass to Moody. They kick out to Heel for three. Rebound by Williams. Williams has got seven rebounds in the game. Allen up top guarded by Kerr. shooting foul as the whistle blows. He’ll shoot two free throws. They get Stephen Curry. The Suns have gone just four of eight from the line tonight. Hoping to move that free throw percentage up a bit. And one of the highlights last year for this group was the fact that they were so efficient from the charity strike. That’s a huge factor. Free throw good. Allen and Allen drops them both. Now here’s Curry. He’s covered closely. Pass to Santos. Here’s Moody. No good there. Jimmy Butler has been on display for the Golden State Warriors. He finishes with nine points in the quarter. The D is having all sorts of problems with them. We’ll get right back to the action when we return here. Now, a chance to show you our assist of the game and it’s presented as always by State Farm. And the definition of teamwork right there, guys. I mean, what great communication between them and what a beautiful feat. The coaches talk about it all the time, but to be able to play with that kind of feel, nice play, collaborating, improvising, and organic. And we reach the fourth quarter in a game that may be already out of hand. They’ve got O’Neal. Allen is out there with Goodwin. Then it’s Williams and it’s Richards in at the four. That’s who’s out there for Phoenix. Ow. Here’s healed. Here’s Moody and airballs the triple. That one was way off. Allen for the three. The Warriors pull it in. Not quite enough defense that time around. Just lucky he was off. Healed outside. Back to Collins. Just five on the clock. Here’s Moody and they get it back. Yeah, maybe a little luck, maybe a little bit of heart. Both of those at play here. He’s getting every offensive rebound. When when you’re trying to claw your way back into a game, you cannot allow second chance opportunities. Yeah, those are tough. If you get back into the game by working harder than the other team, not the other way around, they’re just going to extend this lead. Stripped away. Passes to Collins. Fourth quarter now. We’re about a minute and a half in and contact on the shot. So, he’ll be shooting free throws here. Take a break. Take a break. Two shots. No good on that one. He’s off on the second. The Sun shooting 23% from the field. It’s not going to get it done. O’Neal kicks to Allen. The pass to Williams and the officials will call the illegal screen right there. When a pick like that is questionable and creates that much of an advantage for the offense, you have to blow the whistle. Yeah, a quick little lean like that is going to get the ref’s attention. Foul called. The Warriors have gone one of three from the field to start the fourth quarter. From 12 ft out and it’s off the back rim, no good. and his lateral quickness really allows him to stay in front of the shooter there and challenge the shot. Talk about versatility on offense a lot, but how about on defense and he takes pride in making an impact down there. The offensive rebound. Here’s Jay and he gets the basket. Officials blowing the whistle. So, a chance at the line for one more. There he is beasting on the glass, converting the opportunity, trying to put this game away. I just don’t see how you climb back into the game when you’re allowing plays like that to happen. Extra work on the offensive glass. Martin’s checked in for Grayson Allen. and turnovers have been the issue for him. You can see the coaches have gotten into them a little bit about this. They’ve got to do a better job of taking care of the ball. Nice ball movement by Phoenix. That’s a good one. Lock at six. Shot clock reset for Phoenix. Yeah, just nice hustle there. That work gets them the extra possession. Yeah, exceptional play there to take the bump and still get it to fall. Watch out. Watch out. And the free throw no good. The Warriors have gone just 33% from the field in the fourth quarter so far. They are two of six. Drills it from outside. Yeah, watching Heel shoot is quite astonishing. He does a great job of establishing his feet as a foundation for his three-point shot. Pass to Goodwin. Fires the three. That shot. No good. The Warriors go the other way with it. Here’s Jay. O’Neal with the rebound. O’Neal’s got four rebounds in this game. Phoenix has gone 0 of three so far in the fourth quarter from long range. Martin trying to free himself up. Tries again and it’s in off the backboard. And look at how quick he was to bite on the pump fake. Left his feet way too soon. Guarded by O’Neal and it’s Phoenix with the rebound and it’s Martin missing. Golden State’s gone one and three from outside the ark since we’ve reached the fourth quarter. Kicks it to Heel. A three ball. Burries the long range jumper. Heels got nine points now in just the second half. Outside Martin. The Warriors making a switch here. Richards has checked in. going on. Now here’s Goodwin. He’s guarded by Collins. Phoenix no good that time either. Holden State’s gotten off four three-pointer in the final quarter and two of them have fallen. Santos the pass to Jay. Got it from 16 ft. That’s a high percentage look when the D doesn’t fight over the screen. Yeah, the coach over there just asking for one simple thing and that’s some effort. Got burned on that one. Now here is Martin. shoots and he bangs it home with one hand and doing some dirty work on the offensive glass and then follows it up. Greg with heavyduty jam on his mind with a terrific putback. Here’s Collins. Here’s Richard. The putback is no good. And it’s Goodwin with the ball for the Phoenix Suns. outside Martin. Clock at four. Over Richard and it’s Martin missing. And that’s just great work there to get in the shooter’s face and then go and corral that backboard inside. And that one goes long. Phoenix has gone ice cold from three-point land of four since the start of the final quarter. And the next one puts him in the bonus. Good one with it. Working on Collins. And it’s Good missing. The Warriors shooting a pedestrian 36% in the fourth quarter. The offense not doing their best work of late. Collins pass it to Santos. Golden State moving it around. Just five to shoot. unloads and a great job by the D contesting that shot and forcing the miss. Guys, they’re looking for a way to score here. Yeah, they’ve had a tough time taking the lid off. That is all timing right there. Just led him perfectly. One shot. One shot. And that one falls for Martin. Golden State’s gone two of five on three-point shots since the end of the third quarter. to the paint and down it goes. Dunk through off a wonderful assist. This guy is a high flyer. I mean, especially for a power forward and he needs to be as an undersized player. And the call on the shot that sends him to the line. Two shot. And the first one drops. So we get some both. The Warrior shooting in the fourth quarter has looked shabby. 38%. Outside Collins. Shot clock at six. Doesn’t go for him. Now the Suns take it the other way. Can’t get it to fall. The Warriors shooting struggles apparent 37% from the field. Passes it to Santos. There’s the pass to Jay. Second shot opportunity and the layup good by Collins. Collins has got his first basket of the night. Pass to Martin. Now the feed to Goodwin and the layup falls. Of all the action happening there, it’s the assist that jumps out to me there. That’s just a great look and a great setup for the bucket. And another great look at the 2K drive. And even down big, the effort and energy still there to try and make a comeback. Pass to Santos down low. Here’s Richard. A good finish at the rack off the slick feed. Outstanding entry pass there. He knew exactly where to go with the ball. You guys know now Martin and the layup is good after a nice lead pass. That’s nice vision there. You see that pass, you make the feed before the defense has a chance to react and that opens up a a much better opportunity to score. Now here’s Collins. floats one. It’s not going to go for him. So, Phoenix will take it the other way. Now, here’s Goodwin D. Right on him. And that’ll be two free throws coming up. Officials on the call with the foul. Two shots. Relax on the first. The first free throw is good. No good on the second. So he hits one of two. Golden State’s gone two of five on three-point shots since the end of the third quarter. Richard covered by Martin. Here’s Richard. Good work defensively by Martin and it’s Goodwin with the ball for Phoenix. And the one hand slam just looks so pretty when it’s in his hand and he’s the one doing the slam. Agreed. He is smooth as silk even on a power finish. Pass to Ro. Some nice passing by Golden State here. Here’s Richard and the Warriors miss again. Phoenix has gone ice cold from three-point land 0 of four since the start of the final quarter. Martin finds Goodwin. Rebounded by Ro. The Warriors shooting only 35% in the fourth quarter. The offense looking a little rickety and one team is just completely outclassing the other tonight. Spirited performance and it really ignited what is turning out to be a monster win here for the Warriors. As one-sided as it gets today, you know, there were some dominant moments in about every facet of this game for that team. Yeah. I mean, Kevin, it’s hard to think of what didn’t go right for them. uh game planning by the coaches, execution by the players, everything was just on target. And you know guys, what a nice performance it was for Draymond Green. Yeah, with all these assists, it’s obvious how well that he can see the entirety of the floor out there. If an easy bucket is to be had, he’ll find it. Collins a two-pointer. Will not go. This is off the front eye. 17 seconds left in the fourth quarter. And he banks in the layup. Now, their plan working to perfection there if that was their plan. And if it wasn’t, maybe that should be their plan. So we see the Warriors taking the game here. A resounding victory for them and Greg in enemy territory no less. That’s exactly right. But with the way they controlled the game and and just completely took the crowd out of it. That’s how to get it done on the road. It’s time now to go courtside as we send you over to David Aldridge from the sideline. David, take it away. Thanks, Kevin. Jimmy, you have been outspoken about the need for maximum effort. Was it part of your plan to grab wins like the one we saw tonight? It wasn’t a part of my plan, but whatever works works. I think we got a bunch of talented guys, and at times we forget how hard we got to play on the road, at home. This is how we got to play basketball. Jimmy, thanks for the time, man. Back to you, Kevin. All right, David, great job. Thanks so much. And that’ll wrap it up folks for Brent Barry, Greg Anthony, and David Alders. This is Kevin Harland saying thanks for watching. See you next time. Welcome it away. Thank you guys. The modern NBA certainly owes a debt to those 7 seconds or less. So exciting to see. No doubt about it, David. Thanks. A lot of focus on the guard matchup tonight, Greg. Both these teams rely on their back courts to lead the way for them. And if anything, it should make for an entertaining basketball game. And it becomes a little bit of a chess match when it’s a backcourt duel. Those are always fun. And now the Golden State Warrior starters. And for the Suns, we’ve got Williams, Dylan Brooks out there with Dunn. Then there’s Devin Booker. And it’s Green in at the one. And it’s the Warriors to start out. And here is Curry. And the dunk to finish it off. A beauty. Jimmy Butler has that kind of room and he’s going to throw it down. It’s Brooks on the wing. Booker looking around. Puts it up from 15. They grab their own miss. Done. Williams trying to break free. Now, Greg, a disappointing ending to the playoffs last season, certainly for the Phoenix Suns. Well, came in the top seed in their conference only to make a second round exit after a grueling game seven. So, this season might be revenge time for this group. Booker no good. Warriors have gone two of five here, making 40% so far to start out the game. The pass to Curry. Golden State needs to get off a shot and it’s Deon Booker with the rebound. Come on, come on. Heat. Heat. And so here’s Phoenix. They trail by six. Near the three-point line, it’s Booker. And the Suns miss again. Well, he he wants to shoot his way out of this cold spill, but the struggles continue. Yeah, he’s got to move on. Forget about this sequence here and and try to find a way to get on the board. Here’s Brooks following the basket by Stephen Curry. Back to Brooks to end the run and no good that time. Warriors leading by eight. It’s three outside. That’s what he gives you a big time presence on the glass. And you know what, Greg? Once he gets his hands on it, he’s not even thinking about kicking it out. Nothing yet. Going outside 11 ft away and he gets the whistle. Two free throws coming up. I tell you what, he earned his money on that foul. The Warriors shooting their first free throw. First trip to the line in this one and at the line last season about 78% as a team. Pretty solid numbers. The first one falls. Sun changes for Phoenix. Dunn looking over the floor. Heat. Heat. Jay’s checked in for Golden State and it’s Goodwin with the ball for Phoenix. So, it’s the Warriors now after the Suns pick up two. Pass to Curry. Lets it go from deep. Green hand contact on the shot. So, he’ll be shooting free throws you. The dish to Goodwin. Jay with the rebound. Ball stolen. Two points. That one goes. Warriors leading by five. Outside. Curry. Passes it to Moody outside. Curry. Five on the clock. And it’s green missing. El Phoenix shooting down around 24%. Obviously they’ve struggled. Nice ball movement by Phoenix and there’s the pass to Goodwin. Kicks to Allen for the three. It’s rebounded by Golden State. Green’s got his sixth rebound on the night. Pass to Moody outside. Curry and he drops in the layup off the glass. Curry’s got his second bucket tonight. I like it when Stephen Curry gets to the inside and goes up strong. Just wants to convert from there and he gets the chance. Now here’s Goodwin. He’s gotten some minutes, but nothing on the board yet. 131 left in the first quarter. Pass to Moody. Outside. Curry. Pulls up. Golden State’s gone 105 from down in the first quarter. Suns trail by nine. You know, Greg, you played on some gritty teams and we hear that expression getting punched in the mouth and it’s not usually literal. But what’s that look like on the floor? What’s it feel like on the court? Kevin, you you’re just out hustling and out musling the team. At times you’ll see it. They’ve kind of checked out mentally. And I’ll tell you what, it is one of the best feelings in sport. Booker out there with Jaylen Green. Then there’s Dylan Brooks. Then there’s Dunn. And it’s Richards in at the center filling out the middle. That’s who’s out there for FE. Not a way to get out of a funk. Thanks. Here’s Green following the basket by Stephan Ker. Second chance shot. That one’s in there. The Warrior lead has cut down to nine in the bucket from Booker. And Booker throwing himself into the mix that time to get a second chance opportunity. No good from outside. Suns have gone two of four shooting the ball here in the second. done outside. Now here’s Green. He’s guarded close. He can’t cash in from close range. And here’s Heield. He’ll bring it up for Golden State. And with that lightning first step of Jaylen Green, very few defenders have a chance of keeping him in front. And the pass to Booker. He lobbs up the alley pass. Hammers the alleyoop through. Booker more and more becoming a double threat, not just to score the ball, but starting to realize he can set up his teammates. Lets it fly and the Warriors miss again. And Greg, one thing about that winding speed of Green, he’s got to make his reads faster as well. I I think the game is slowing down for him though, Kevin. And that and speeding up his shot release uh will make him even tougher to deal with. And here are the Warriors now following the three-point attempt by Dylan Brooks. Healed bounce pass. Shot clock at five. It’s hauled in by Dunn. And here’s Booker from the arc. Booker outside. Pass to Brooks. Yeah, better than giving up the layup. A pass to Santos from the arc and he makes no mistake on the slam dunk. Scraping and clawing, doing everything he can to grow that lead. Emphatic on the put back stuff. Now teams having a tough time containing him, attacking all the way there. Pass to Green and Stephen Curry with the foul. That is his first foul of the game. Warriors on D. They’ve led by as many as 11 points. Booker the pass to Green just fine to shoot. Now you could tell he’s feeling confident right now at the line and when he’s on he can be lights out. Nice ball movement by Phoenix. Pass to O’Neal over Green. And the shot is long and here’s Green. The pass to Santos inside and the slam by Moody making the most of the screen. That’s how it’s done. And it’s in the perfect spot. Greg frees him up to get all the way to the bucket. Really not enough help. their lack of communication on the backside. Now, here’s Goodwin still getting warmed up offensively. No scoring yet from him. All the energy is on the other side right now and every miss just makes it worse. Well, the other team is scorching hot and they come down on this end and can’t find a way to get the embers going. Here’s Jay. Here’s Moody. The second effort, he takes it up and lays it in. Moody’s got four this quarter. And a better box out. Saves them two points there. It didn’t seem like anybody was really aware there to go and collect that rebound in the possession. Here’s Williams. Nice work on the board. It’s paying off at the basket. Then he finds them. They finish off the second quarter with a massive 16-6 run and a chance now to send it over to David Aldridge standing by Courtzside. David, thanks very much. Here with Mike Bluten Hoser. Bud, what are you looking to clean up in the second half? Um, you know, I don’t think our offense is really moving the way we wanted to. um getting up and down the court in pace and you know we got to make a few more open shots but I think we can be a lot better offensively. So big. So it’s Golden State who’s out on top at the half. They are way out in front leading by 17. Kenny, give us your take. Well, when you pass the ball the way they have, Ernie, I mean, this is the kind of scoring line you expect. The guys are in total sync, and the difference is the ball movement. I mean, they’re moving the ball around, and it’s striking. We think it’s going to be pretty good. that a big comeback though is needed for this game to be competitive and it probably has to happen quickly. And so Green will bring it up for the Suns. Trailing by 17, setting the floor for the Warriors. Williams finds Green. Booker in the post. Brooks outside. Pass to Booker. Five to shoot. They get it back. Brooks for three. Good on the triple. Brooks has got it going here in the start of the second half. Now here’s Green shoots over Curry and he hits the jump shot. Green’s got his third basket of the night. What a great option he gives them on every possession. Pass to Green overdone. Another shot and the layup is good. 10 points for him. Pretty good body movement and control as Jimmy Butler’s agility got him to where he wanted to be. Brooks with it. He’s got nine fade away and that one hits back iron. Warriors leading by 16. Golden State moving the ball around. Curry against Williams. Outside Green. Brooks outside. And again, it’s the Suns missing and it’s the Warriors ball to the middle. Whistle blows. Basket is good. So, a chance here for a three-point play. The Warriors have gone six of eight from the free throw line tonight. One shot. And that one misses. Suns trail by 20. Near the three-point line. Six points for him. And the Suns miss again. to the inside. He’s guarded by Williams. Williams with the steal. They need a bucket in a big way here to regain some confidence. Green the pass to Booker. Green bounce pass. Shot clock at six. Shot to stop the run. And again, it’s the Suns missing. Warriors leading by 22, guarded by Green. Great D that time from Green. Sign me up. I That is a That is a fascinating story. David, thank you. Heields checked in for Curry. Good on both. Warriors leading by 20. On the wing. Heel defended by Booker. Heel can’t hit. I I still can’t believe that one didn’t fall from 12 feet out. And again, it’s the Suns missing. And when he he’s this close, he he’s got to make it. The defense was pretty good, but just shouldn’t miss that. In that tight with that much of an advantage heightwise, there’s just not a lot the defense can do. Now, here’s Booker. Heat. Heat. Heat. Now here’s Hee. Who’s watching? And here is Green. He’s got 10 making the most of the screen. That’s how it’s done. And it’s in the perfect spot. Greg frees him up to get all the way to the bucket. Really not enough help there. lack of communication on the backside and it’s still a rare sight to see rebound numbers like the ones he’s had tonight. Well, this kind of effort will energize the team and get you going. Just gobbling up every board. Done outside. Richard’s no good. done covering. Pulls it up. Pass to heal. Now Green, pass to Jay and foul on the shot. So he’ll get a chance at the line. The Warriors have gone six of nine at the line. shooting two. First one falls for He’s perfect from the line this time. Phoenix has gone one of four in three-point shots here in the third. Guys are looking for a spark here. Goods checked in for Green and here’s Heield. He’ll bring it up for the Warriors. Passes it to Jay. And again, it’s the Warriors missing. Ellen outside. They need this one. Offensive rebound. Richards in tight. He gets the jumper to fall. Richards got four points now in the quarter. And the rebound and the follow show you what he is all about. gritty and determined with a soft touch to match. Now the pass to Jay. Jacks up a three and that’ll be Golden State as it goes out of bounds. Warriors retain possession. goes up at the stripe and it’s Phoenix with the rebound. Richard’s got 13 rebounds in the game. Class eating. Good one kicks to Allen. That shot is off and Golden State will go the other way with it. Here’s Heel and two free throws coming up. Phoenix has gone into a slump here from three point range shooting just one of five here in the third. O’Neal issues to Allen. He kicks it to Goodwin. Down to five on the shot clock. That’s the kind of passing right there that makes a difference not just in that possession but maybe on your play for the entire game. And the ball out of play. The Warriors will inbound. The Suns making a switch here. Williams has checked in. 43 seconds left to play in the third. Pass to Moody. They kick out to Heel for three. Rebound by Williams. Williams has got seven rebounds in the game. Allen up top guarded by Curry. Shooting foul as the whistle blows. He’ll shoot two free throws. They get Stephen Curry. The Suns have gone just four of eight from the line tonight hoping to move that free throw percentage up a bit. And one of the highlights last year for this group was the fact that they were so efficient from the charity strike. That’s a huge factor. Max on the first free throw good. I mean, what great communication between them and what a beautiful feed. The coaches talk about it all the time, but to be able to play with that kind of feel. Nice play collaborating, improvising, and organic. And we reach the fourth quarter in a game that may be already out of hand. They’ve got O’Neal. Allen is out there with Goodwin. Then it’s Williams and it’s Richards in at the four. That’s who’s out there for FE. Now, here’s Hee. Here’s Moody and air balls the triple. Pass it to Collins. From 12 ft out. And it’s off the back rim. No good. and his lateral quickness really allows him to stay in front of the shooter there and challenge the shot. Martin’s check in for Grayson Allen. What’s up, and turnovers have been the issue for him. Watch out. Watch out. and the free throw. No good. That shot no good. The three ball burries the long range jumper. Heels got nine points now in just the second half. Outside Martin. The Warriors making a switch here. Richards has checked in. Now here’s Goodwin. He’s guarded by Collins. Phoenix no good that time either. Holden State’s gotten off four three-pointers in the final quarter and two of them have fallen. And it’s Goodwin with the ball for the Phoenix Suns outside. Martin clock at four over Richard and it’s Martin missing. And that’s just great work there to get in the shooter’s face and then go and corral that backboard inside. And that one goes long. Phoenix has gone ice cold from three-point land of four since the start of the final quarter. And the next one puts him in the bonus. Good one with it. Working on Collins and it’s Good missing. The Warriors shooting the pedestrian 36% in the fourth quarter. The offense not doing their best work of late. Collins pass it to Santos. Golden State moving it around. Just five to shoot. Unloads and a great one. One shot. And that one falls for Martin. Golden State’s gone two of five on three-point shots since the end of the third quarter to the paint and down it goes. Dunk threw off a wonderful assist. This guy is a high flyer. I mean, especially for a power forward and he needs to be as an undersized player. And the call on the shot that sends him to the line. Two shots. And the first one drops. So he gets them both. The Warriors shooting in the fourth quarter has looked shabby. And even down big, the effort and energy is still there to try and make a comeback. Pass to Santos down low. Here’s Richard. A good finish at the rack off the slick feed. Outstanding entry pass there. He knew exactly where to go with the ball. Now Martin and the layup is good after a nice lead pass. That’s nice vision there. You see that pass, you make the feed before the defense has a chance to react, and that opens up a a much better opportunity to score. Now, here’s Collins. Floats one. It’s not going to go for him. So, Phoenix will take it the other way. Now, here’s Goodwin G. Right on him. And that’ll be two free throws coming up. Officials on the call with the foul. Two shots. Last on the first. The first free throw is good. No good on the second. So he hits one of two. Golden State’s gone two of five on three-point shots since the end of the third quarter. Richard covered by Martin. Here’s Richard. Good work defensively by Martin. And it’s Goodwin with the ball for Phoenix. And the one hand slam just looks so pretty when it’s in his hand and he’s the one doing the slam. Agreed. He is smooth as silk even on a power finish. Faster roll. Some nice passing by Golden State here. Here’s Richard. And the Warriors miss again. Phoenix has gone ice cold from three-point land. 0 of four since the start of the final quarter. And with all these assists, it’s obvious how well that he can see the entirety of the floor out there. If an easy bucket is to be had, he’ll find it. Collins adds a two-pointer. Will not go. This is off the front iron. 17 seconds left in the fourth quarter and he banks in the layup. Another plan working to perfection there if that was their plan. And if it wasn’t, maybe that should be their plan. So we see the Warriors taking the game here. A resounding victory for them. And Greg in enemy territory, no less. That’s exactly right. But with the way they controlled the game and and just completely took the crowd out of it, that’s how to get it done on the road. All right, David. Great job. Thanks so much. And that’ll wrap it up, folks, for Brent Barry, Greg Anthony, and David Aldridge. This is Kevin Harland saying thanks for watching. See you next time. Get away. And for the Suns, we’ve got Williams. Dylan Brooks out there with Dunn. Then there’s Devin Booker and it’s Green in at the one and it’s the Warriors to start out. And here is Curry. Golden State moving it around to the middle and the dunk to finish it off. A beauty. Jimmy Butler has that kind of room and he’s going to throw it down. It’s Brooks on the wing. Booker looking around. Puts it up from 15. They grabbed their own miss. And we got to take a second look to admire that outstanding block and making a statement right away, letting them know they won’t get any easy ones when he’s around. Come on. Heat. Here we go. And so here’s Phoenix. They trail by six near the three-point line. It’s Booker and the Suns miss again. Well, he wants to shoot his way out of this cold spell, but the struggles continue. Yeah, he’s got to move on. Forget about this sequence here and and try to find a way to get on the board. Here’s Brooks following the basket by Stephen Curry. Back to Brooks to end the run and no good that time. Warriors leading by eight. It’s Curry outside. That one’s no good. That makes him one for two. And here’s Brooks. He’ll bring it up for the Phoenix Suns. over Green. Phoenix no good that time either. Well, he’s a guy they count on to produce from the mid-range. He doesn’t miss too many open looks from there. A chance to extend the lead to double digits, but it’s no good. They’ve been looking out of sync offensively. Yeah, that their offense has ground to a standill. Now, here’s Booker. No points in the game hit for him. Brooks right side back to Williams. Brooks finds Williams and it’s slammed in by Williams. That’s what he gives you. A big time presence on the glass. And you know what, Greg? Once he gets his hands on it, he’s not even thinking about kicking it out. Oh, his competitiveness right now is why the teammates love him. Good D by Booker. And the effort never stops with him. No easy shots when he’s on the floor. Well, it’s about the defensive end and that’s what guys feed off. He gives the effort down there at all times. Here’s Brooks shooting foul. As the whistle blows, he’ll shoot two free throws. Golden State’s gone 0 of three from three-point land. Nothing yet going outside. 11 ft away and he gets the whistle. Two free throws coming up. I tell you what, he earned his money on that foul. The Warriors shooting their first free throws. First trip to the line in this one. And at the line last season about 78% as a team. Pretty solid numbers. The first one falls. Some changes for Phoenix. Nick Richards comes in for Williams and Allen subbed in for Dylan Brooks. Moody’s checked in for the Warriors. That one misses. So he goes one for two. Suns trail by five. Now Green, he’s still scoreless so far in this one. Booker with no one around. They get it again. Richards off to a good start as he hits his first shot attempt. And they’ve scored several times already here in the first quarter on the inside. From 11 ft away connects, the jumper drops and the Warriors lead by five. Hallelujah. Jay’s checked in for Golden State and it’s Goodwin with the ball for Phoenix. Seven-point differential. And Greg, last season Butler and Spolstra got into it on the sideline. We all saw it. Uh it was an interesting moment. Yeah, I I think that’s a good way of praising it. That manic intensity perhaps necessary at times for a player who competes as hard as Jimmy. So it’s the Warriors now after the Suns pick up two pass to Curry lets it go from deep. Green and contact on the shot. So he’ll be shooting free throws here. What I appreciate most about Green is his leadership. Strong vocally on and off the floor. And let’s get your take on as on the scoring breakdown for the Warriors. I I like how they’ve worked the ball inside, getting looks closer in there, and that really helps your offense. Outside curry. Passes it to Moody. Outside. Curry. Five on the clock and it’s Green missing. El Phoenix shooting down around 20. 4%. Obviously, they’ve struggled. He’s gotten some minutes but nothing on the board yet. 131 left in the first quarter. Pass to Moody outside. Back to Allen. And he gets the whistle for the 3second call. Suns by nine. Right back after this break. and glad to have you with us, folks. You know, Greg, you played on some gritty teams and we hear that expression getting punched in the mouth and it’s not usually literal. But what’s that look like on the floor? What’s it feel like on the court? Kevin, you you’re just out hustling and out musling the team. At times you’ll see it. They kind of checked out mentally. And I’ll tell you what, it is one of the best feelings in sport. Booker out there with Jaylen Green. Then there’s Dylan Brooks. Then there’s Dunn. And it’s Richards in at the center filling out the middle. That’s who’s out there for FE. Now, here’s Heel. He’s been patient so far. Nothing on the scoreboard yet. Here’s Curry and he drives in. Second chance effort. And that’s two points on the layup. Butler with the ball up in the air just sniffs that one out. He goes in and rips it down. I’m going to prove everybody wrong.” Kevin, that’s a great chip to keep on his shoulder. David, thanks. Here’s Green following the basket by Stephen Kerr. He’s guarded close. Can’t cash in from close range. And here’s Heield. He’ll bring it up for Golden State. And with that lightning first step of Jaylen Green, very few defenders have a chance of keeping him in front. And the pass to Booker. He lobbs up the alleyoop pass. Hammers the alleyoop through. Booker more and more becoming a double threat not just to score the ball but starting to realize he can set up his teammates. Lets it fly and the Warriors miss again. And Greg, one thing about that winding speed of Green, he’s got to make his reads faster as well. I I think the game is slowing down for him though, Kevin. And that and speeding up his shot release will make him even tougher to deal with. And here are the Warriors now following the three-point attempt by Dylan Brooks. Healed bounce pass. Shot clock at five. It’s hauled in by Dunn. Some nice passing by Golden State here to the inside. He’s guarded by Williams. Down low and stolen by Dunn. Brooks with no one around. Good play by Green to set it up. A whole selfless play right there from Green. He’s all about getting it to the open man. Passes to Santos. outside Curry. He’s guarded by Williams. Rebound by Williams. Yeah, better than giving up the layup. The pass to Santos from the arc and he makes no mistake on the slam dunk. Scraping and clawing, doing everything he can to grow that lead. Emphatic on the put back stuff. Now team’s having a tough time containing him. Attacking all the way there. Outside Green. Back to Booker. Brooks outside. Pass to Green and Stephon Curry with the foul. That is his first foul of the game. Warriors on D. They’ve led by as many as 11 points. Booker the pass to Green just fine to shoot. Here’s Dunn. Nice effort from Draymond. Great position there to contest. Phoenix no good that time either. And foul on the shot. and he’ll shoot two at the free throw line. The Warriors have shot 67% for on the line tonight going 46. First free throw is good and Curry still feels like he has a ton to prove. That is championship fiber. That drive helps elevate his game. Catching up on the changes for Phoenix. O’Neal’s check in for Dunn. Grayson Allen comes in for Brooks and Goodwin subbed in for Jaylen Green. And both free throws good for Curry. Now you could tell he’s feeling confident right now at the line. The fadeaway. Draymond Green pulls it in. Green’s got nine rebounds in the game. Getting it done. Here’s Moody and stolen by Booker. Fast break. Here come the Suns. Nobody near Allen. And again, it’s the Suns missing. Now here’s Moody. He’s guarded by Williams. Curry on the wing. And the officials calling for a 3second violation. And the Sun’s making a change here. And Matador defense, that’s one of the easiest shots he is ever going to see. Yeah, feels like Christmas right now. Just gift wrapping points. Two free throws coming up and they call the shooting foul. Nice work to get it inside and draw contact. The Suns have split their free throws right down the middle so far. They’re two for two. Take a break. Take a break. Two shots. And that one misses. Jay’s checked in for the Warriors. So he comes up empty missing both. That’s a a strange trip because typically he’s pretty much money from there. The pass to Santos inside and the slam by Moody making the most of the screen. That’s how it’s done. And it’s in the perfect spot. Greg frees him up to get all the way to the bucket. Really not enough help. Their lack of communication on the backside. Now Draymond Green patient enough to know when his teammates are running around. At some point one’s going to break open. They finish off the second quarter with a massive 16-6 run and a chance now to send it over to David Aldridge standing by Courtzside. David, thanks very much. Here with Mike Bluten Holderbud, what are you looking to clean up in the second half? A big comeback though is needed for this game to be competitive and it probably has to happen quickly. Curry against Williams. outside Green. Here’s Curry. Jimmy Butler once again. And potentially the switch is flipped here for Jimmy Butler to take over and dominate in this one. Brooks. The pass to Booker. Over Curry. Booker. No good. The Warriors have gone three of five to start the second half, developing a nice rhythm out there. You know, he’s usually very reliable from out there, but tonight it’s just not going down. Brooks outside. And again, it’s the Suns missing and it’s the Warriors ball to the middle. Whistle blows. Basket is good. So, a chance here for a three-point play. The Warriors have gone six of eight from the free throw line tonight. One shot. And that one misses. Suns trail by 20 near the three-point line. It’s Booker misses off the right iron. The Warriors have gone four of seven to get things started here in the second half. And there it is for him. Nine points in the game so far. just can make it so much easier for your teammate when you throw that lead pass that gets to him right on the money, whether that’s on the run or in the shooting pocket. Now, here’s Green. Six points for him. And the Suns miss again to the inside. He’s guarded by Williams. Williams with the steal. They need a bucket in a big way here to regain some confidence. Green. The pass to Booker. Green bounce pass. Shot clock at six. Shot to stop the run. And again, it’s the Suns missing. Warriors leading by 22. Ed by Green. Sign me up. I That is a That is a fascinating story. David, thank you. And guys, let’s get your take on the scoring breakdown so far for the Warriors. They bullied the defense here in the paint. Look at all of those buckets inside. Just hard to defend in the paint. Their attacking of the offensive glass has also been a success story. All game long. They’ve been committed to finding those second chance opportunities. And he makes the first. Nick Richards. He’s checked in for the Suns. And the Warriors also making a change. Heels checked in for Curry. Good on both. Warriors leading by 20 on the wing. Heel defended by Booker. Heel can’t hit. I I still can’t believe that one didn’t fall from 12 ft out. Well, if you believe in the numbers, that mid-range shot is not a high value shot. even with little or no defense on you to the left side wing and Jimmy Butler with the three. 15 points in the game. Well, Jimmy Butler is a wing that you’re going to have to stay connected to out there. That was a sweet stroke. Phoenix calls timeout. And coach can’t be happy. And and I think I know why. Their defense putting up no resistance inside. No, they’re not preventing them from scoring. And if you can get to a high efficiency shot on the floor and that’s the paint, you just keep going. Heat up Jay’s checked in for the Warriors. Who’s watching? And here is Green. Done. Outside. Richards no good. Done covering. Pulls it up. It doesn’t go for him. And Phoenix the other way. Now here’s the teardrop. Pass to heal. Now Green, pass to Jay, and foul on the shot. So he’ll get a chance at the line. The Warriors have gone six of nine at the line. shooting two. First one falls for He’s perfect from the line this time. Phoenix has gone one of four in three-point shots here in the third. Guys, they’re looking for a spark here. Yeah, a cold stretch offensively for sure. Now, here’s Green. Six points for him and he’s been a force on the glass all game long. Yeah, it’s almost like he’s got a magnet on that ball here tonight. He’s in the right spot all the time. And we always talk about making your teammate better. That assist was right on target. Here’s Green following the basket by Buddy Heel. And they call an illegal screen here. That’s going to draw a whistle every time down the floor. are not even close to being a legal screen. Yeah, everybody saw that one. That was pretty blatant there. Goodwin’s checked in for Green. And here’s Field. He’ll bring it up for the Warriors. Passes it to Jay. And again, it’s the Warriors missing. Allen outside. They need this one. Offensive rebound. Richards in tight. He gets the jumper to fall. Richards got four points now in the quarter. And the rebound and the follow show you what he is all about. Gritty and determined with a soft touch to match. Now the pass to Jay. Jacks up a three. And that’ll be Golden State as it goes out of bounds. Warriors retain possession. goes up at the stripe and it’s Phoenix with the rebound. Richard’s got 13 rebounds in the game. Class eating. Good one. Kicks to Allen. That shot is off and Golden State will go the other way with it. Here’s Heel and two free throws coming up. Phoenix has gone into a slump here from three point range shooting just one of five here in the third. O’Neal issues to Allen. He kicks it to Goodwin. Down to five on the shot clock. That’s the kind of passing right there that makes a difference. Not just in that possession, but maybe on your play for the entire game. The Suns have gone just four of eight from the line tonight, hoping to move that free throw percentage up a bit. Now a chance to show you our assist of the game and it’s presented as always by State Farm and the definition of teamwork right there guys. I mean what great communication between them and what a beautiful feed. The coaches talk about it all the time but to be able to play with that kind of feel. Nice play collaborating, improvising and organic. And we reach the fourth quarter in a game that may be already out of hand. They’ve got O’Neal. Allen is out there with Goodwin. Then it’s Williams and it’s Richards in at the four. That’s who’s out there for Phoenix. Now, here’s healed. You get back into the game by working harder than the other team, not the other way around. They’re just going to extend this lead. Stripped away. Passes to Collins. Fourth quarter now. Oh, we’re about a minute and a half in and contact on the shot. So he’ll be shooting free throws here. From 12 ft out. And it’s off the back rim. No good. and his lateral quickness really allows him to stay in front of the shooter there and challenge the shot. Martins check in for Grayson Allen. and turnovers have been the issue for him. One shot. One shot. That shot no good. The Warriors go the other way with it. Here’s Jay. O’Neal with the rebound. O’Neal’s got four rebounds in this game. Phoenix has gone 03 so far in the fourth quarter from long range. A three ball. buries the long range jumper. Heels got nine points now in just the second half. Outside Martin, the Warriors making a switch here. Richards has checked in. Now here’s Goodwin. He’s guarded by Collins. Phoenix no good that time either. Golden State’s gotten off four three-pointers in the final quarter and two of them have fallen. Santos the pass to Jay. Got it from 16 ft. That’s a high percentage look when the D doesn’t fight over the screen. Yeah, the coach over there just asking for one simple thing and that’s some effort got burned on that one. Now here is Martin. shoots and he bangs it home with one hand and doing some dirty work on the offensive glass and then follows it up Greg with heavyduty jam on his mind with a terrific putback. Here’s Collins. Here’s Richard. The putback is no good and it’s Goodwin with the ball for the Phoenix Suns. outside. Martin clock pocket four over Richard and it’s Martin missing. And that’s just great work there to get in the shooter’s face and then go and corral that backboard inside. And that one goes long. Phoenix has gone ice cold from three-point land of four since the start of the final quarter. And the next one puts him in the bonus. Good one with it. Working on Collins and it’s Goodwin missing. The Warrior is shooting the pedestrian 36% in the fourth quarter. The offense not doing their best work of late. Collins pass it to Santos. Golden State moving it around. Just five to shoot. Unloads and a great job by the D contesting that shot and forcing the miss. Guys are looking for a way to score here. Yeah, they’ve had a tough time taking the lid off. That is all timing right there. Just led him perfectly. One shot. One shot. And that one falls for Martin. Golden State’s gone two of five on three-point shots since the end of the third quarter to the paint and down it goes. Dunk through off a wonderful assist. This guy is a high flyer. I mean, especially for a power forward and he needs to be as an undersized player. And the call on the shot that sends him to the line. Two shots. And the first one drops. So we get some both. The Warrior shooting in the fourth quarter has looked shabby. 38%. Outside Collins. Shot clock at six. doesn’t go for him. Now the Suns take it the other way. Can’t get it to fall. The Warriors shooting struggles apparent. 30 37% from the field. Good work defensively by Martin. And it’s Goodwin with the ball for Phoenix. And the one hand slam just looks so pretty when it’s in his hand and he’s the one doing the slam. Agreed. He is smooth as silk even on a power finish. Pass to Ro. Some nice passing by Golden State here. Here’s Richard. And the Warriors miss again. Phoenix has gone ice cold from three-point land. 0 of four since the start of the final quarter. Yeah, I mean Kevin, it’s hard to think of what didn’t go right for them. uh game planning by the coaches, execution by the players, everything was just on target. And you know guys, what a nice performance it was for Draymond Green. And with all these assists, it’s obvious how well that he can see the entirety of the floor out there. If an easy bucket is to be had, he’ll find it. Collins a two-pointer. Will not go. This is off the front eye. 17 seconds left in the fourth quarter and he banks in the layup. Now, their plan working to perfection there if that was their plan. And if it wasn’t, maybe that should be their plan. So, we see the Warriors taking the game here. A resounding victory for them. And Greg in enemy territory, no less. That’s exactly right. But with the way they controlled the game and and just completely took the crowd out of it, that’s how to get it done on the road. I think we got a bunch of talented guys and at times we forget how hard we got to play on the road at home. This is how we got to play basketball. Jimmy, thanks for the time, man. Back to you, Kevin. All right, David. Great job. Thanks so much. And that’ll wrap it up, folks. For Brent Barry, Greg Anthony, and David Aldridge, this is Kevin Harland saying thanks for watching. See you next time. Take it away. Then there’s Devin Booker. And it’s Green in at the one. And it’s the Warriors to start out. And here is Curry. Golden State moving it around to the middle and the dunk to finish it off. A beauty. Jimmy Butler has that kind of room and he’s going to throw it down. It’s Brooks on the wing. Booker looking around. Puts it up from 15. They grab their own miss. Done. Williams trying to break free. The layup missed. He creates such a great opportunity right at the rim and he just can’t get it to go even with the defense not really a factor. Lets the free rejected by Booker. And it’s out of bounds. Last touch by Booker. And we got to take a second look to admire that outstanding block. And making a statement right away, letting them know they won’t get any easy ones when he’s around. Curry against Green. outside Curry. Clock is at three. And a clever defender. I like seeing Brooks be that pest on this end and just disrupt it. Back to Booker. puts it up from 12 and the rebound goes to the Warriors. Green left side makes it off the glass. Draymond Green showing off some big man handles. Great job from the point forward there. Come on. Come on. Heat. Heat. and so here’s Phoenix. They trail by six near the three-point line. It’s Booker and the Suns miss again. Well, he wants to shoot his way out of this cold spell, but the struggles continue. Yeah, he’s got to move on. Forget about this sequence here and and try to find a way to get on the board. Brooks right side. Back to Williams. Well, it’s about the defensive end and that’s what guys feed off. gives the effort down there at all times. Here’s Brooks. Shooting foul. As the whistle blows, he’ll shoot two free throws. Golden State’s gone 0 of three from three-point land. Nothing yet going outside. 11 ft away and he gets the whistle. Two free throws coming up. I tell you what, he earned his money on that foul. The Warriors shooting their first free throws. Now Green, he is still scoreless so far in this one. Dun looking over the floor.
