The Dallas Cowboys Day 4 Training Camp Highlights Are ABSOLUTELY CRAZY… | Cowboys News |
Ladies and gentlemen, we’re back with some more Dallas Cowboys content. 117s, I mean, red zone drills, name it, they got it. Right. First of all, before we dive in, I want to give a shout out to Joseph Hoy. He allows me to use this film and kind of break it down for you guys. Make sure you follow him and all of the other reporters listed at the top. With that being said, let’s kind of dive into the video. The first thing that I want to break down is I just want to get into the film, the plays from the practice. Here’s one. Over the past few weeks, we’ve been kind of uh really talking about them implementing an RPO system, a read option system within this football team and allowing Dak Prescott to run the ball a little bit more as well as Joe Milton. Right here, we are going to see a nickel blitz, right? I want you guys to keep your eye on this helmet right here. You see how he starts to blitz? Right when we see him blitz, we want to pull and throw it, but we want to be really quickly because these are some of the most dangerous throws in football because if this guy’s able to get a, you know, a hand on it or intercept this, he’s gone to the house ultimately. Great grab here by Jaylen Tobert. Comes down with it and gets up the field for what looks like could be a touchdown. And he might have get tackled there. Uh, but ultimately, look at the high throw, high points this thing. Beautiful job. Everything about it was beautiful. I loved it. Again, pads aren’t on yet fully, so they’re not allowed to tackle, so I have no idea if this would have been a tackle or not. Those dog days will come soon. But hey, great way to open up practice here. Some more clips here from Joseph Hoy. You guys can go follow him right now. Uh, but here’s one. Dak drops back, realizes he has a one-on-one matchup, and takes it. Now, whenever you have a one-on-one matchup and you like your wide receiver more than you like the DB across from him, you’re going to throw that ball a lot of time. And when you have a guy like Jonathan Mingo here who makes a good catch through contact and then makes his own guy miss ultimately gets brought down or would have got brought down if the pads were on. But this is a great job by Mingo. He’s becoming consistent. He’s becoming reliable. Um and he’s becoming a weapon that Dak Prescott clearly is saying, “Okay, I have a one-on-one read here. I’m throwing the ball.” Okay. Now, you only throw this ball if you have confidence in your guy. And he did have confidence here in Jonathan Mingo. So, I like that play a lot. You see Jonathan Oy says, “Tough catch from Dak Prescott. Defensive holding was called, too.” Okay, that’s that’s kind of that’s kind of cool to know. Mingo has been consistent throughout campus far. Big thing note. All right, next play. Let’s talk about And again, Joseph, make sure you guys go follow this dude, man. Post so much good things. Love it. All right, here we go. Watch another one. Haven’t seen this yet. Fanning down the field. Good protection in the pocket. Okay, back shoulder to CD. Good job not bringing him fully down. So again, first thing I want to notice here, the pocket. Oh, okay. Great pickup. Great pickup. Like this blitz pickup here. Got to watch this again. Watch this a couple times here. Love the blitz pickup here by the running back. Obviously 37 that uh or is it 27? Is it 37 or hold let me go back cuz this is important. Obviously running with Dak. That is the 30. Oh, it’s 33. Okay, 33. So, Devonte Williams, great blitz pickup right there. Again, the pads are on, the helmets are Oh, not not helmets, but pads are on. Things would be a little bit different. Maybe Jack Samborn lowers the shoulder and boom, goes right through him. We don’t know. We don’t know right now. But a good pick up there. A lot of time in that pocket and a great back shoulder to Cidi who picks up a nice chunk of yards there. Again, good job not fully bringing him to the ground. like this play a lot. So, I’m playing it a lot. Watch it one more time here. Like that one. All right. So, Joe Milton rotates into the game here. You see Dak in the back. Milton throws again. Very zoomed in. So, can’t really tell what’s happening here. Wish it wasn’t so zoomed in. That’s okay. We’ll deal with it. Uh oops. So, what this looks like to me is he sees a potential one-on-one matchup and decides to throw it. Now, there is a safety down there, Swani Thomas, who does, and again, if this safety is not here, man, this is a beautiful, beautiful opportunity. You got a step, got some leverage, but the safety gets over there quick. Shout out to Juan Thomas. Gets in there. Interception. Okay, so good play here by the defense. Looks like there pressure. Does he Is he forced to throw it out? I can’t I can’t tell. So, there might be pressure here that forces him to throw this ball out a little bit early. Actually looks like that might be it. I think there might have been pressure. He throws up one hoping he can get it to Ryan Fenoi. Um but like the pressure got to him and uh forces a ball, interception. Those are ones you don’t like. If you’re an offensive coordinator, don’t force it, man. Some people say even take the sack, right? Take the sack. I know it sounds crazy. Or just throw the ball away if you can. Looks like right here forces one up. He gets picked off. Before we get any further, guys, make sure you do me a favor. Hit that like button if you haven’t already done so. Like I said before, we will be covering this Dallas Cowboy team throughout the entirety of the off season. including training camp, almost every single practice that I can cover, uh, preseason football, breaking down all 22 coaches film, then obviously regular season as well. We got you guys covered. Turn on post notifications, that way you’re notified every time we post a video. With that being said, let’s dive into some more clips. One thing that’s been noticeably different about these years practices in training camp, even without pads on, I feel like the physicality level, the competitive nature of this football team just feels a little bit different. Right here, they complete a pass to a tight end. And watch these guys try to get it out. We get one punch there, another punch there. I mean, dude, these guys are going after the football. guys are being taught, hey, we are just we’re not hitting. We’re not bringing guys down. Go for the fumble. Go for the go for the punch out, the peanut punch, right? That’s what they’re doing. Everybody’s going for the peanut punch. They’re not going for a wrap. Everybody’s going for the football. They are trying to instill in their guys that every single play, go for the football. Go for the football. Right. You win games by winning the turnover margin. And that that’s one area of this team that feels a little bit different. Physicality level way up high. Another big time play. I know you guys are gonna appreciate this one before I start talking. Watch it. Watch it real quick. Joe Milton, quarterback. Guys, Mr. Lazy, Mr. Doesn’t work enough. Mr. Not good enough. Jaden Blue with an unbelievable onehanded snag. Look at the body control. Okay, this ball is behind him. He’s got to stop. redirect, track the ball, and then lay out for a onehanded snag. He’s not the biggest guy in the world, but that is a catch. That is a clean catch there by Jaden Blue. Everyone wants to roast him about being too lazy, lazy, too lazy. I don’t know where that guy was talking about, what that guy was talking about, but man, Jaden Blue with one hell of a grab. Over the past couple of days, he’s been showcasing his ability. The Cowboys, don’t get me wrong, they love Javante Williams. They love Miles Sanders. Jayen Blue is starting to catch their catch their eye, though. They know what he can do. They are They’re all in on him. Also, according to Joseph Hoy, it was a Eagles fan with an Eagles shirt walking around practice today basically just saying, “I suck at fantasy football.” That’s what the back of his shirt says. So, I believe this is probably a punishment. But, I thought that was really funny that everybody in the crowd was just booing him every time he walked by and he just did laps, laps, laps every single every single uh, you know, couple minutes he would just take a lap and just get booed. So, that was pretty funny. Good punishment. Here is a really good rep, guys. It’s going to be tough to see, but this one’s from Tyler Booker. Okay, you’re going to see he’s a guard right here. You see his face. Winfrey and Donovan E are going through a stunt. So, what essentially is going to happen, this outside edge rusher is going to start to gravitate in and they’re going to bend Donovan E around on the inside. Okay. Now, as a guard, this is very tough to stop because you just never see it coming. So, as he starts to explode in, you’re going to see Donovan E kind of take that outside. And then boom, he’s going to take Booker. Then he’s going to start to get to the other side. And then here comes Donovan E. Right. Look at the switch ability by Tyler Booker. Does a great job. Great job. Let’s watch this in totality again. Great switch back. Booker is a good player, man. Booker is a good player. Now, obviously, as a first round pick, he’s practicing with the twos, according to Joseph Ho and some of the other guys as well, but it doesn’t it’s not the end of the world. They like him. They think he’s a good player, but they want to give him more reps, more opportunity to learn the system while not going up against some of the best players right away. But Booker so far has been a really good player. And not a lot of people have been able to guard uh or not guard, but you know, protect the quarterback from Dominique. So far, he’s done a pretty good job. play of the day in my opinion is the Jaden Blue catch. I can’t stop watching it. But I am gonna end the video here, guys. If you want more film, there’s so many guys here. Tommy Yarish, there’s Joey uh Joey Joseph Hoy. Uh there’s so many more. So go follow them on Twitter X if you haven’t already done so yet.
