The Pittsburgh Steelers Training Camp Day 3 Looks EYE OPENING… | Steelers News |

Ladies and gentlemen, welcome back to the channel. We have some more Pittsburgh Steelers updates, news, notes, analysis, highlights, everything you can think of from seven shots to 11 on 111s. We have some video footage. We’re not going to use too much of it because we can get in trouble. So, we’re going to do what we can do. But the one thing I will do for certain is let you know who’s looking good, who’s maybe not looking good, everything you can think of from today’s practice. Before we dive in, I just want to give credit where credit is due. And that is with all of the Pittsburgh Steeler media members as well as some of the people who go to practice get some of these highlights for us and kind of enable us to use them. So go follow them if you haven’t already done so. One big one is my boy BW wall right here. He does an amazing job. Go f follow him. He does an amazing job. With that being said, he recorded a little bit of a a Mike Tomman speech and then you see Joey Porter and a bunch of other guys coming out here. I believe Troy Palamalu was at practice today as well um as Ike Taylor. So, man, what a good day of practice. And let’s honestly just deep dive into the first thing of seven shots. Now, if you click on BWall here, go down. This is the seven shots right here. Okay, this is the tweet. This is what happened during the first initial team period. Seven shots is essentially when they run red zone drills. Get seven opportunities offense versus defense. It’s not all ones. It’s a lot of ones, twos, and threes. First snap, just like yesterday. This needs to be fixed right here. Okay. It g it takes them like one adjustment period, one adjustment snap to get things fully uh, you know, acclimated, I guess, for every practice. But that’s two days in a row we’ve had a low snap by Frasier. This is again needs to be fixed. This can turn into a lot of bad situations for the Steelers. Was a throwaway by Aaron Rogers, which is better than yesterday. I believe he just took a sack in the back. Next play, Rogers DK touchdown. Beautiful job. Third up, Rogers. Darnell Washington, touchdown. We also saw a little bit of Johnny Smith running routes early in practice. I’m not sure if he uh took part in these portions of practice. Maybe we’ll be able to find out with some clips later. We had a Mason Rudolph throwaway. We had a fade to Connor Hayward from Mason Rudolph. He caught it, but not sure if he was in bounds. Guessing with this emoji here, he was saying most likely he was out of bounds. Now, one player that has really been standing out so far is JJ Gobreath. I mean, I think that’s how you say his name, but he has been pretty much locked and loaded over the past couple of weeks. And um obviously training camp’s only been a week, but over the past couple months at rookie mini camp, OTAA’s mandatory mini camp, this is a guy that has really stood out. Now I get it, right? They have Big Mute, they got uh Darnell, they got Connor Hayward, they got now John Smith, and now this guy JJ starting to break out. How many tight ends can you have on a team? Well, listen, the more the merrier, right? I mean, the you’re going to have a lot of weapons for Aaron Rogers this season. If you ever have an injury, you have a lot of guys that you can have faith in taking a step up. Then we had Aaron Rogers back in for the last play of seven on sevens that ultimately went incomplete. So, we have a little bit of footage here that I can show you. Now, this is specifically from you’re going to see my guy here, Ben. It’s ben_berg2. Dude, this guy’s been posting a ton of footage. If you guys are a Steelers fan, go follow him. He only has 336 followers right now, but I guarantee you, you will not regret it because he’s posting these videos. And let’s keep in mind here, you’re not really allowed to film this portion of practice. That’s why you don’t see it anywhere else besides a couple of people who are actually taking them. So, right here, it looks like we have one high safety that’s gravitating towards the middle of the field. I’m just going to show you the clip and they’ll go back and watch. So, this is a perfect breakdown here. We saw over the past couple days they love to run these goal line fades here with DK Mechaf. Um but they only like to target DK if this safety is not shadow coveraging here. The first thing that we notice pre- snap is that safety starts to gravitate towards the middle of the field. Once he does that, this right here becomes what we like to call a yes no read, which means Aaron Rogers in his head is like, listen, I am circling yes. I am throwing this ball no matter what. We got a quick slant. We got inside leverage already. And look at DK just out muscles Joey Porter Jr. gets just a little bit of separation and it’s an easy touchdown because he can catch through contact. Again, this is great. You’re going to see a lot of goal line opportunities this year are going to be yes, no reads. Again, if there’s no high safety, just throw it. Just throw the ball to DK Metaf. Maybe he’ll make a one-handed grab, maybe he’ll moss the dude, or maybe he’ll make a play like that. So ultimately very high up on um my list in terms of going to be a lot of opportunity for DK Metaf this year in the red zone. A lot a lot almost too many. Um they don’t really have another big body to go to outside of the tight end room. Big Muth DK uh Darnell. I want to see John Smith last year was actually a really big threat down low. So um yeah, big big touchdown right there. Here’s another one from Ben again. does such a good job posting these, man. I was honestly kind of shocked that he had this much film to post. So, here’s another one where they’re in the red area, probably that two yard line. It looks like they’re in the shotgun. We probably got I’m guessing 12 personnel, one running back, two tight ends on the field. I do see two wide receivers to the right, but none to the left. Guessing 12 personnel. Um, really want to sell the run as we drop back in the cut in the pocket. Okay, this is actually a beautiful play. Great job by the underneath tight end, Jonnu. It looks like actually. So, Janu is participating. You’re going to see Jonnu take out one of these players, right? He gets right in the way and kind of boxes him out because we are running a corner route to that left pylon, kind of giving us a one-on-one opportunity. Johnu took two guys out, gave us a one-on-one. Beautiful play. John Smith, even though he didn’t get the touchdown, he was a big reason why they were able to score this ball. Also, this swing route. Look at the swing route out the back field. Because this is a threat out the back field, it forces some of these guys to bite down. And again, you just take out take out defenders, right? You take out too many hats and they don’t have enough to cover everybody. Look at they’re all going down to that flat. Easy money. Great job by the offense on this one. Guys, real quickly before we deep dive any further, again, make sure you guys follow my guy BW wall um as well as uh Steelers W Robbie. They do great jobs covering this team and posting clips about him. Uh Ben Berg, another one, man. Just found out about him today, man. He’s been amazing. Post so many clips. I mean, you go through his uh his feed, you’re going to see like 20 clips, it feels like. So, um here’s another one. Oh, honestly, one more thing. Make sure you guys hit that like button if you haven’t already done so. Helps out the channel so much. Most importantly, make sure you guys are subscribed to the channel. It is free. It doesn’t cost anything. And we will be covering the Pittsburgh Steelers all year long. everything you could think of. Training camp, preeason, regular season, everything. Now, in terms of preseason and regular season, we’re going to be breaking down all 22 coaches film, showing you what’s going on in each of these plays, kind of just like this one, but obviously with uh better film. Um, so right here is a very interesting play. So, you’re going to see the tight end, he’s going to be running a stop. Now, what we’re doing is we’re reading the defense. We’re understand this is zone. This guy’s in a flat. So, if you kind of take Joey Porter out of this play by hitting that flow with the tight end and then running a deep out with Calvin Austin, it looks like we might have a ton of separation here. So, watch Aaron Raj drop back. Look how this guy immediately runs to the uh to the deep side. Once you see that Rogers is like whoop, eyes open wide because not only do we have outside leverage already, but the tight end was able to bring up Joey Porter Jr. wide open shot just a little bit out of the way and actually goes out of bounds there. But this is a really good read from the offense and Aaron Rogers. He’s a guy that can really read defense as well, but ultimately just a little off. Little bit off. Again, don’t hate it. I like the play. I like the throw. Ultimately, it’s a tough angle, too, because you got to throw this over Joey Porter Jr. Ah, tough barely off. Here’s one more. Again, make sure you guys go follow the boy Ben Bird, guys. I promise you, you will not regret it. There is so many more that I’m just not going to cover in this. A lot of good defensive battles uh in this game or in this practice. So, go follow him. You’ll be able to see it all. Benberg, Ben 2. All right, here we go. We’re going to get a twoey safety look here, but we’re going to get a late two safety look. Okay, I’m going to just show you the play. I always do this. show the play and then break it down, okay? And we’re going to tell you exactly why he threw this in double coverage. So, first thing we notice here is pre- snap, this safety is down by the box. Okay? You guys see him right here, okay? Not this safety, but this one in the box, right? Watch how as this play starts to happen, we got the priest down motion. Now, he starts to back up. Okay? Boom. Now, he’s kind of sprints back. Now, as this play is happening, uh, Brown Rogers already likes the match up with Roman Wilson, so he says, “You know what? I’m throwing this thing anyway.” Roman absolutely cooks the outside DB, but since there’s safety help over the top, they do a great job getting back to the football and disrupting the catch point here, allowing that to go incomplete. But again, I don’t mind the idea of this throw because Roman Wilson has a matchup that they like. I mean, he blows by this dude. Blows by him. Look at the speed difference by Roman Wilson. If there’s no safety up over the top, that’s a touchdown. But a good job by the defense kind of disguising it, getting out of it quickly, and um just doing a really good job. Look at the safety get right back into the play. I’m not sure who that is. You guys can see a number there. Let me know. Maybe that Elliot Chuck Clark I know might be here. I can’t tell. Maybe 21, 22. But overall, I thought it was uh I thought it was a good practice. There’s still a lot more going on. Trust me, there’s a lot more going on. You go to this guy’s page, you’re going to see a lot more. Okay, go check look at all the clips. Okay, go follow Benberg for more. I’m going to end it right here. Hit the like button, subscribe, and I’ll see you guys in the next one. face.

  1. How is this must see tv. This is a one and done team if they make the playoffs with an old washed up QB that’s not a leader. Oh RIP Hollywood Hulk Hogan.
