Marlins vs. Brewers Game Highlights (7/26/25) | MLB Highlights
Beautiful night for baseball in Milwaukee and it is Clay mccullough and the Marlins here. They have been a surprising team here recently took a series from the Royals and the Padres coming out of the all star break and Then they beat the Brewers last night, Marlins just four games under 500 but surging jose Quintana and what a blessing he has been for this Brewers rotation seven and three so far this year, man averaged about 3.5. He’s got 53 punch outs, 77 and a third inning. He’s got to pick up a win his last time out against the Dodgers six innings, four runs making start number five career against the Marlins three and two. The count to Edwards big chopper Ortiz winds it up fast runner, great play. He has been unbelievable at shortstop this year. I mean, that’s not an easy play you got the sun to deal with 02 muscled into right Frelick is there and two gone here in the first. Good to see Sal back in the outfield had a problem with that hamstring for a little bit. Didn’t spend much time on the injured list but good to have him back another 32 to Lopez and that one misses Lowe, this is what the Marlins do. They get deep into counts. They see a lot of pitches and very good plate discipline up there. Runner goes, throw down to second. It’s a good one with the tag right on the mud. Stealing a moto Lopez ends the top of the first innings. Frelich back in the starting lineup back in his leadoff spot. He gets a big ovation as he digs in against a familiar face on the mound, Jansen Junk. The former Brewer, he has resurrected his career. He has been a factor for the Marlins as he has particularly on the road. He’s been very good away from his home ballpark. He has great command. There’s a bouncer by Frelick, oh big top spin hopper and it bounces right between Edwards and Lopez for a leadoff single for Sal free. It took a bad hop as he got out there. Not sure what it hit but goes straight up. Neither one of them could get a glove on it. Swing and a fly ball to right couple of steps back for Hernandez. He’ll make the catch and back to first base goes Frelick one away for Jackson Chio. He’ll kick and fire the two and there’s a weak swing and a miss on a slider. He got him two away. Now after the leadoff single here in the first by Frelick yell hitting 258 with the Milwaukee Brewers team leading 19 home runs in 60 six runs batted in this season. Jelic cuts and misses a slider tight turner up top Jansen Chunk works around the leadoff single from Frelich by King the back two. We’re throwing inning. No score. It will be a leadoff double for andrew Vaughn. Here come the Brewers in inning number two. And now we’ll see if Isaac Collins can get him moving out there and hits sharply to a base hit ball is going to be held at third. He is not blessed with great speed and Jason Lane, the third base coach sensing a big inning puts the stop sign up great scoring opportunity against junk as Tang digs in and he strikes out junk with that nasty curveball big out right there. And now caleb Durbin still runners at the corners one out and there goes Collins pitches outside throw to second bases in time even close. That was a great throw by Fortes and suddenly the Brewers are staring at a zero here. It was a promising start to the inning. That’s up the middle and that Durbin two outs, two strikes. He delivers the first run of the game two out RB I back breaker potentially against Jansen. Jung, Jose Quintana back out there for a clean third. He’s working with a lead. It’s 1 to 0. Brewers Myers seeing him swinging away. He drills one through the left side of the infield for a base hit and that’s a leadoff single , first hit against Quintana Ortez. Pops that up near home plate and who wants it? Contreras does? Andrew Vaughn was calling him off but Contreras took care of it for out. Number one runner goes throw down to second, not in time. Stolen base for Dane myers 15th of the season two behind Edwards for the team lead. He’s in scoring position with one out runner at second one away for So Noah looking for a big hit to tie it here in the third and he lines one softly to left field that’s going to get down for a base hit and Then some Collins do but he couldn’t get it. A run will score. Sanoja is on his way to third throw coming in and they, but the Marlins tie it, it is an RB I double for Javier Soo but he is caught. It was a perfect relay by Milwaukee regardless. We’re tied at one in the top of the third. Augustin ramirez come to the plate for the Marlins to lead things off here in the top of the fourth in a 11 game and Augustine smashes the ball out to right and deep Frelich is back at the track. He’s looking up and it’s gone. Augustine ramirez in opposite field shots homer number 15 on his season. He just missed a homer by inches yesterday and he gets it back today 21. Marlins in the top of the Fork Marlins lead it 2 to 1 as we go to the bottom of the fourth inning here at American Family field, Jackson Turio with a base hit 19 in a row for Chur. He’s on his way to second throw comes in late. It’s a hustle double and it’s a 19 game hitting streak for Jackson Chur. And that’s the other thing about that hitting streak. We’re not talking about just singles two down after the double by Chur and here’s Isaac Collins fly ball left center and that is going to be, it’s going to bring the run. Collins in the second. He didn’t hit it hard but he hit it to the right spot. Stour, went into a slide, got a glove to it but couldn’t come up with a catch and the Brewers have tied this game at two to with a base hit that’s going to the gap in the score. Collins and Turang in the second with an RB I double Brewers take the lead 3 to 2, taking advantage of the mistake in the outfield back to back doubles, Joyce Turang with two outs, 32. Milwaukee after two for them in the bottom of the fourth Orleans trying to respond to the top of the fifth, a 31 and there’s a fly ball in the air deep left field. Collin is going back a go ahead two out three run bomb for a Berto Hernandez and the Marlins answer back like they always do and it’s 53 fish in the fifth. The Marlins are 53 on Milwaukee in the top of the sixth and that is a double in a day for kyle Stowers to open the sixth. And oh, by the way, he’s got a five game extra base hit streak and right now from on in scoring position right now, dan myers is up in the air to left center field. This is crush. Chios going back at the wall. Myers gets into the act here in the sixth and the Marlins are teeing off on the Brewers here tonight. You were clamoring for insurance and you got it. Dane Myers homer number five on the year. It’s 73, Miami in the top of the sixth 73. Marlins Sal Frelich leads things off base hit three tries in his return from the injured list. Tyler Phillips back out for his third inning and a chopper on the ground and there is out. Number one. Phillips has locked the Brewers down. He’s retired seven in a row, a lot of ground balls but playable for Stowers two outs, two up, two down for Chio who has extended his hitting streak 19 straight games and he’s got another one, a two hit game for Chio first hit against Phillips and he is aboard now for Jelic groundball to second base up with it Edwards. He throws out Jelic and it would seem unless the Brewers have a big bottom of the ninth inning that his on base streak will come to an end tonight. Brewers had a 32 lead after four innings of plays. Gets into one deep right center there. She got, that’s how you start in the ninth. It is 7 to 4. Miami as Andrew Vaughn hits his eighth home run of the season out of here in a flash Phillips in line for his first career major league save. Here it is ballgame over Jansen the winner Phillips with his first major league save. Make it four in a row for the Marlins in four consecutive series victories.
