Athletics vs. Astros Game Highlights (7/26/25) | MLB Highlights
Oh my, what we witnessed last night, Nick Kurtz for a second turn from an A’s player to a legend might just be the best individual offensive performance in baseball history. You saw the stars align and baseball is a cosmic way about it. Now going to be in the history books among 19 other players to have four homers in a game looking for a in this series and they have one of their horses on the mound tonight. Hunter Brown will be that pitcher on the bump. 16 starts through June at 169 batting average against left handed hitters slugging through June led all of the American League, but things have changed a little bit here in the month of July Lawrence. Butler will lead off twing and a mess. Went to the curveball and Butler down on strikes one away. Oh, here he is, nick Kurtz, this is going to be a dynamite matchup. There’s many folks who are looking for that underground nick Kurtz showdown. So coming off the six for six game, he walks his first time up , we’re gonna see, I’m sure a bunch of that you’re coming up. Not the worst walk in your life. No, definitely not. Here is Brent Rooker, the designated hitter, high fly ball to left Hummel is moving over at the track and at the wall and it is off the top of the wall. Kurtz was running on contact. He will come around to score and Rooker is at second with an RB I double. Well, with that out of town scoreboard left here. It’s old school. You’ve got numbers that are getting slotted in there taken out. What’s that mean? Well, there’s ridges, there’s rails, there’s crevasses to this thing. This baseball is going to come down and hit right on. That scoreboard is a four pitch walk to Soderstrom and hunter will get a visit 25 pitches in the inning from the pitching coach josh Miller to go out there and simmer him down a little bit. You’ll be ok. The inning continues for And-jar 1 to 1 and that’s hit in the air out to center to his right is mccormick, he’s there to make the catch and the side is retire Brown Strands a couple and it’s going to be Jacob Lopez on the mound tonight for the Green and Gold 12th start of the season. Cam smith leads it off for the Astros right handed inning right fielder that is swung on and missed down. He goes on the fastball strikes out Cam smith one away. So back to back walks issued by Lopez and the Astros have two runners on here with one away for Jan Diaz. There’s a bouncing ball. This might be a good one. Schuman flips to second and it’s just you got to give credit to Diaz here for being able to bust down the line like that because if it’s not a hard 90 from the backstop, that’s a 643 and Jacob Lopez and company are out of trouble. Taz looking for that first RB I since coming back from the Il mccormick shows but lays it down. It will be good communication between langeliers and Lopez that will end the first inning and a great defensive play by the A’s catcher. Carlos Cortez will lead things off for the A’s swing and a mess changeup gets him a floater over the outside corner and Brown garners his second strikeout one away good execution there on a 32 count swing and a mess fastball by him at 97 3rd strikeout for Brown. You almost start to sense here in the last two at bats that Brown could be finding his stride. That’s another walk issued by Lopez now 1st and 2nd 1 out and here is Zack short. Here’s the 10th pitch of this at bat 32 in the air to left center Butler ranging over right before the warning track. He makes the catch. Here comes the gun to third. It’s going to be a close play but diving in safely is Dub-n and Cooper Hummel will take advantage of the throw as well. Now, 2nd and 3rd, but with two outs and the number one hitter, Cam Smith comes up again. The 3 to 2 pitch is swung on a fly ball to right center Butler , moving to his left. He’s under it makes the catch it somehow. Some way, Jacob Lopez gets out of the jam again. No runs, one hit a walk. We go to the top of the third. It’s a 1 to 0. A’s lead. Hunter Brown will face Lawrence Butler. This one hit hard but Cam smith is there and he makes a jumping catch. That ball carried a little bit on. Cam had to adjust to the last second and make a jumping catch for out. Number one. Tough to judge. We talk about hard hit baseballs right at you and this is one of a great play by Cam five straight retired by Brown. Here’s Kurtz Kurtz walked and scored in the first inning 9 to 11 in the series. Hertz has scored a run the last seven times. He has hit in this series. Hunter trying to figure out a way to stop the streak caught by Janer Diaz. Nick Kurtz goes down on strikes. Hunter picks up strikeout number four said that matchup would be fun. Kurtz took the walk. This one can’t get to the cutter at 91 miles an hour. He’s human and there is one away and that’s a straight now. Retired by hunter Brown that will bring up the left fielder Tyler Soderstrom. Here’s the 32 that is strike three called Soderstrom. Not happy, but he bent that breaking ball right in there at the last second for the second out. That was perfect right at the knees with the hook five strikeouts. Now for Brown Hammer to left and on Duar has a two out single, it’s a good way to break up the nine straight retired by Brown carlos Cortez. The batter, he’s a lefty left side and through for a base hit for Cortez the second base and digging for three is on the throw to third base, not in time to second base. That’s not in time, great job by and to see the situation and knew he could get to third base. So he takes third which allows Cortez to go to second base run by carlos as well. And now he is business 2nd and 3rd for Max Schuman. A single with two outs would score two runs up the middle by Bryce Matthews, a line drive by the Astros second baseman to end the inning left on in scoring position one down in the fourth. And that will bring up the second baseman Bryce Matthews and a strikeout Matthews tips it into langeliers glove and they will go around the horn four strikeouts for Jacob Lopez as the pitch is swung on fly ball to deep center is near the track at the wall and, but able to make the catch at the wall great job by Lawrence Butler to get to the spot 409 ft away 123. 4th inning for Lopez. He needed that two down that will bring up the first baseman Nick Kurtz ground ball through for a hit 13 game hitting streak. Now for Kurtz, he wins round number three against Hunter Brown and get some more into center mccormick will have a play. Hunter is going to end up with five innings of four hit one run. Baseball, Astros need some offense down one righter, Justin Turner, first one under the bullpen or the A four, a in 36 game and he’ll face Jose Altuve with Zack short at first base and one out in the bottom of the fifth strike three. Is that right there? That tells me is he saw a tag on the initial attempt, let the play itself out and Then ultimately made the call Bennett Sousa. The left hander will take over here for the Astros Shay Lang 3 to 2, Hammer to left. That’s trouble and gone home run for Shay langeliers. It’s two nothing athletics. What a shot from Langoliers, a line drive. I don’t think he got 30 ft off the ground have been out of the plate, maybe mistakes that have been very hittable. They have gotten hit in this series against Astros pitching langeliers. Another home run on this series back to back games with a home run for the A’s catcher sharply hit to left field and the Astros are cooking. Now, Diaz reaches with a single Astros with runners at the corners and nobody out here’s mccormick who is 0 to 2 on the night. Chaz has a chance at his first run batted in since coming off the I lifts this in the center. This will get the run and Butler back pedaling waiting for it to come down. Butler makes the catch tagging and scoring easily. Christian Walker and it’s 2 to 1 A’s Astros on the board on the mccormick sack fly. Take that good at bat, especially with two strikes. There are two in the seventh and here is nick Kurtz. Here’s the 22, strike three called low one in on Kurtz. He thought it was inside and that’s the third out of the seventh inning. That was a big one. The lefty comes in for the A’s 2 to 5 record 3.49. Er, a Cooper Hummel will bat. Switch hitter batting from the right side delivers the 0 to 2 pitch. He’s taken strike three called inside edge Hummel strikes out good job by n has been very tough. Another strikeout for Newcombe. It two down back strikeouts for Newcombe strike three called great slider from the left hander. He strikes out the side, he strikes out Hummels short and smith back to back to with a 2 to 1 lead over the Astros bottom of the eighth altuve walker and Diaz do up called strike three. My goodness, Sean Newcomb slicing and dicing right now. One walk to Walker that will bring up to Diaz catcher is one for three bouncing ball up the middle schuman. There steps on the second base bag throws to first at a 6 to 3 double play end the eighth sean Newcomb to strong innings of scoreless relief. Lawrence Butler will be the hitter with two on and two out in a 21 game here in the ninth inning. That one towering drive to right field. Smith just looks up and it is gone a three run homer for Butler and the A’s lead it 5 to 115 for Butler and RBIs 4243 and 44. That ball was absolutely launched. Law dog posing at the dish. He knew it off the bat. It was just a matter of how far here’s Nick Kurtz single and a walk tonight. Now, Kurt sends a charge to right. That will one hop the wall. He takes the turn around first and will settle for a long single. Yeah, I think wisely Nicky nukes gonna head back to first. That’s probably what he’s joking with. Bobby Crosby about safer here at first. Victor Caratini will pinch hit for Matthews. The Astros last hope tonight. 12 pitch high chopper Kurtz waits back. Miller covers, he’s there and the A’s have won three in a row here in Houston. Phenomenal effort coming out of this athletics bullpen today, Sterner Newcombe and eventually Mason Miller would do a fantastic job of picking up where Jacob Lopez left. All the green and gold have come into Houston swinging a hot stick a chance for a four game series sweep on the road tomorrow.

First for the first time…
A’s absolutely own the Astros over the last few years
The Athletics are 45-62🟢🟡⚪️
Awesome Kurtz and Rooker early in the game…
lol look how nasty Rooker's helmet is 💩 that's funny
The A's have TALENT, the only thing they're lacking is Ownership that actually cares about the Team and Fans.
Astro…KNOTS
Great job incompetent Espada for having Cam leading off , playing McCormick once again and having a dumb lineup. Great job Buffoon for helping the Astros get swept at home.
Espada is Dusty the 🤡 2.0
Until he gets fired the Astros will never be at their full potential even if all the injured players get back.
Just got home it was fantastic to see astros fans leave so early 😂
I actually really like a lot of the A's players. They are fun to watch. I hadn't seen that Sean nukem pitch before. He was throwing darts.
4:53 프레이밍 씹.. 메쟈도 판독 도입해라…
Astros have to be better with runners in scoring position.
RANGERS!!! Only gave up 5 runs to the A’s!
Lawrence Butler's 3 run shot decided the game. Can the A's sweep the Astros?
Imagine getting owned by a homeless team.
Go A's
Astros are poverty lol
A's have a lot of talent but can they keep some of these guys? Unlikely
Seattle mariners pov:
Let's go Oakland 🎶 🎵 🎶 🎵..Oops..I mean A's…

Thanks you As, Go Ms
Where are all the Astros fans?
One thing the A's are deep is at center field defense.
Kurtz has 11 hits in three gams
Screw It I'm Watching The A's This Season
Please bring back Pressley!!!
Sweep em!!
🤣🤣🤣👎👎👎 HA
The A's are turning into Americas team. Most exciting group of young players in the league. Nobody taking off because they got paid and don't care like Anthony Rendon. Guys playing each game hard. MLB should promote the A's more they are playing the game the right way!
О май гаааааад….что вообще происходит…!))
