Oakland Athletics vs Houston Astros – FULL GAME HIGHLIGHTS | July 27, 2025 MLB Season

part ready to go. Game four of this four game set and we are underway with a first pitch foul ball out of play. Hits that ball pretty well down the line and left. Long run for Cam Smith. And this one starts with a home run. Miguel Anduhar in his first game ever as a leadoff hitter in his career hits a leadoff home run. is the last time he faced them as he gets Butler to wave at the one-two pitch. Orange goes down on strikes for the first out. Sky in the air playable Cam Smith barely has to move. In fact, he stayed in his tracks the whole time and put series against the Astros. He’s been swinging about well he’s got two consecutive games with three consecutive games with home runs. That’s a third in a row. Langelers back on the home run trail. He is, as plumber said, homerred in all three games the last three. Kin picks up a strike out of the first batter he faces. Getting trem will pop the first pitch he sees up on in foul territory. And Gio Ora puts it away. hit towards the middle and the shorts stop. Schuman moves to his left nicely to make the play. Three and two the count to Kobe Thomas and he goes down on strike. So Colton Gordon pilot Miller pitching coach. We don’t often talk about Bill Murphy pitching coach, but we’re going to hear from Murf next inning and he’ll be coming on after Colton Gordon just struck out the side. Are we able to to translate that on TV? It just basically it basically means that if you ground ball at second. They’re going to go to short for one and Cooper Hmel out at first for a double play. Right. No, it’s been fun. This ball in the left coming on Cooper Hmel and he’ll get there for the out. Aras flies out to left. I’m feeling pretty good about myself taking the great Billy Wagner out as Andrew Hart pops it up to the shortstop Zack Short for the second out of this inning. And I’m because Mark Loretta was blocking the plate and Hunter took him out to score the run. Hey, we should ignore Colton Gordon. Duban is one of four Astros that face Gin in Sacramento. Line to left in a good running catch by Brent Rooker. Now four game set on the ground towards the hole. Backhanded by Schuman. Long throw and that’s a good one. He gets picked by no at bats in a three- 0 count. The 23rd time he’s gotten a three 0 and never took a swing at the prestead. It’s a fly ball to left. Cooper Hmel not moving very far now. Coming in tagging at third is Rooker. Here comes the throw by Hmel and Rooker will score to make it three nothing A’s into center. Trel coming in still coming and he won’t be able to make the play and Kobby Thomas does have his first major league RBI. Little punch shot and Walker’s able to go back and make the play. and eventually lost that game five to one as Altuve goes down on strikes May 21st series against Tampa Bay until that Cleveland series in July without losing a series. They were outscored 15 to five by the Rangers in that series and now 29-6 in the A’s favor here in Houston. Caught in left field by Brent Rooker. Christian Walker down. That’s seven as he approaches the 90 pitch plateau into left following quickly and a diving catch by Cooper Hmel. Play of the day for the Astros. Hmel slowly hit gives time for Zack Short to get across. He makes the play on Butler one into center. Backing up is Taylor Jal. puts it away for the final out off the end of his bat and that’s going to be a fair ball. Singleton Singleton advance on the ground to first played there by your shot on the ground on two hops to third and Duhar’s throw gets to Bond for the final out of the inning. We’ll head to the sixth most of the time. How about that? Three pitch strikeout. Get on the ground to short. Zack will charge and make a sidearm throw on the money. Good inning for Contraras in his first there. That’s popped into shallow right coming on Thomas going out. Aras. It’s Thomas the outfielder who makes the call for the first out. That’s pass a short stop. Schuman into left center field. Jal’s going to have the first extra base hit for the Astros. He’ll get into second base with a double with one out. Into right center field. Cutting across is Butler. He makes a diving attempt and he makes a great catch. Trel went back to tag. He’s going to get to third. What a catch by Lawrence Butler preserving the shut out for the A’s. 26y old from Mississippi JT Ging. Foul tip. Contras stays hot. Four batters. Broken bat. Wow. Went down and snagged it cleanly. Over 50 pitches two days ago. This one ground to third. Dubond’s right there. That is six in a row sent down by Contraras and he gets through. Bit of a rut here now for the last three weeks. Pops this one up. Shallow right. It’s called by the second baseman. Aras sends this one to right. Cortez towards the line will make the running catch for the final out of the so many people myself included. You know, having him as a mentor meant that that our careers were that much better for it. So, um you know, he’s just so gracious. He’s such a and uh it just means so much to you know, to everybody that goes through that position uh that has to faces those ups and downs and the grind that is closing in Major League Baseball. Uh it’s an honor. You talked about him giving credit to other guys and being very humble about it. I wish we had more time to talk about it, but appreciate you having towards the mound. Pass the mound and on the run, Aras makes the play. And that’s where some of that fatigue and frustration can set in a little bit for guys who aren’t accustomed to doing it every day. Walker pops the first one high in the air into right field. Carlos Cortez comes in a few steps and puts it away for the final out of the inning. Couple of two out hits, but the Astros uncher gets Ursella. But the home team just hasn’t given them much to cheer about unfortunately in this four game series as the A’s tack on two more with that bases loaded hit by Max Schuman. That’s going to be down for a hit. That’ll score another run. Here comes Trel’s throw. Oh, it’s going to be wide. Walker will cut it off. That’s an RBI here at home with some of these scores. So, you can kind of pinpoint a couple of things to say this is what we need or this what would this would enhance it. This one is at the wall. Fortunately, it’s a few feet shy of going out. You know, would you know would have been in the worst of it of anybody in the last two weeks. This ball punched to the left side. Short backs up on it, makes the throw and that’s in time to get Butler for the final out of the in. Chaz gets into one towards left and that ball is over the head of Brent Rooker and off the wall. McCormick into second base. He’s got himself a double. Second time Cam has popped one up last two at bats. This one caught by the shortstop Shoe. There’s one away into center field sending Butler back a few steps hanging at second will be Chaz McCormick. He’ll get over to third. That’s the second out here in the ninth. One and two. The count to Duban. He’s going to give the Astros a run today. Astros avoid their fifth shutout of the season. Chaz McCormick crosses the plate and the fans that remain, many of them stand here as they finally have something to cheer about. Niner hitting for Zack Short. That ball into center and it’s playable for Lawrence Butler. And that’s going to complete a four-game sweep. A’s get a sweep here in Houston for the first time in a dozen years. Astros avoid the shut out.
