Rockies vs. Orioles Game Highlights (7/27/25) | MLB Highlights | Baltimore Orioles
Tomyuki Sagano scraping up the slap getting ready for the finale in this one. And I am certain Ben McDonald he wants a strong pitching performance against this Rockies lineup who gets Bodiac down on strikes with a 95 mph heater. Well, I like that too. Back-to-back fast ball is kind of up. Foul ball in the first one and then a little bit extra from Sagano right here. He reaches back 95 just above the top of the zone. Well done by Tommoyuki. And a little bit more of a curious situation after the single. Now a four pitch walk to Jordan Beck. Sagano his first free ticket of the game and the Rockies have two on with two outs and Tyro Estrada getting ready to face Tommo Sagano. Pitch on the way. Hit on the ground softly to Sagano. He has got it. Flips it underhand to Mayo. Out recorded and the inning over. Couple of base runners for the Rockies with two outs but nobody comes in to score. It’ll be the eighth start of the season for Austin. His last start against the Cardinals. He said it’s the best he felt. He struggled a little bit with command. His stuff was as good as ever relevant by the 6ks, but he did give up 11 hits in that game. Going to second with two outs is Lauriano Tyler O’Neal. It’s been a tough out in this series. Couple home runs. He also has a double. Right field shallow. Bernabell wants it and Warming’s got it in short right and a good first inning for Austin Gber. No score after one. So far in the first two innings, Billy, I feel like there’s some big swings and you can’t have that approach against a guy that’s going to throw this many off speed pitches. This is warming Vernabel, 23 years of age for the last couple of years. Kind of faded off of the prospect rankings. He was a top 30 prospect early in his career. Here’s a drive to left. That’s got some carry. Carlson going back to the wall. It’s gone. Warming Bernabel on a 91 mph cutter. Tries one to deep left for a home run. his first as a big leager and the Rockies take the lead in the second one to nothing. What a day for warming Bernabel. What a weekend it’s been for this young man. You got to love seeing that in his last two at bats. First big league hit, first big league homer. They’re giving him the silent treatment. Of course. I hope it lasts like a half inning. Oh, there it goes. So Austin Gber, we said rarely walks hitters. Hands out his second walk of the game already. And with a man on first with one out, Kobe Mayo comes up with the Rockies ahead by a one- nothing score. Kobe Mayo lines went sharply towards the corner of left field. That’ll short hop the wall for an extra base hit. Mullen speeds into third base. Mayo’s got another extra base hit, giving him seventh double of the year. And the hits are starting to come now in bunches for young Kobe Mayo. So second and third now for the Orioles with just one out. So the Rockies have played the infield back with one out, a one- nothing lead. And Dylan Carlson, the left fielder, is the hitter, and the right-handed hitter for Gomeber. 01 stroked out to left field. Base hit. Mullins jogs in from third. Here’s the wave around for Mayo. Throw home from Beck on a bounce. Head first dive. It’s late. Up to second is Carlson on the back end. The Orioles jump on top. Two to one as Dylan Carlson drives in two. And as soon as the Rockies take the lead, the Orioles jump out in front. See pretty good stuff early on from Tomyuki Sagano. A little hop on the fast ball. The splitter has looked outstanding. He’s elevated. Nice tight slider sweeper. Elevated his fast ball when he’s needed to. It’s all about staying out of the heart of the plate for Sagano. Tap towards the middle. Diving stop made by Henderson. Pops. Gets it to first in time to get the out. What a play by Gunner Henderson. He made a diving stop on a ground ball back to the bag at second. Got up quickly and then fired a strike to first base. What a play by Henderson. And here’s Henderson. Henderson a couple of extra base hits in last night’s thumping of the Colorado Rockies. Jam job muscled into right field. A base hit. Henderson drops it in and there’s a one out base runner. Gunner Henderson, you’ll take him any way you can get him. This ball got in his hands just a little bit. Just haven’t had a large run, a big sample size for Tyler O’Neal this year. health has been utmost concerned with him recently in his career and this year no exception. Three consecutive games, multi- hits, back-to-back games with a homer. When you leave one on the heart of the plate down low, that’s right into his sweet spot. And he hits one high and deep out to left field. That turn it around. That ball is gone. Home runs in three straight games for Tyler O’Neal. And it is loud, too, Wags. I’m talking about loud. How about 433 feet that ball went and another fast ball down low in the zone. And again, that’s where you don’t want to pitch. Tio is down in the zone. And he quickly turned that one around. Sixth long ball of the year, his 17th RBI. And how about three straight games with a long ball for Tio. So there’s one down with one on here in this fourth inning. Three and two. Swing and a foul tip. Held on to by the catcher Jackson. Go to second base. Out. A strike three double play. We’ll see if there’s a challenge. No challenge. A strike him out, throw him out double play. And what a throw by Alex Jackson. Rockies set up men at first and third with two outs. And the tying run is going to come to the plate in the form of Mickey Moniac. So Sagato trying to wiggle out of this two-out jam. And these are the situations the Rockies have been really good in since the All-Star break. Hit with runners in score position. Man, they’re hitting right at 300 in their eight games since the All-Star break. now with 70 pitches this afternoon, moving through his 20th start of the season. He’d love to pick up number strikeout number six right here. Moniac chases a fast ball away and Monia strikes out ending the inning. So he chases a pitch that was way outside and the inning concludes as Arcia and Freeman left on base. Six strikeouts, only two walks. Remember he had four walks his last time out, which is not like him. But the command has been a lot better so far today. Kicks off the top of the bump. Lunging grab made by Westber from the grass to get the out. Great play by Jordan Westber. Sprawling to his right, smothering that baseball to get the out to start the six. It doesn’t matter where you play Jordan Westber, he is an above average defender right here. Two two to Jordan Beck right there for strike three. A sinker freezes back. Strike out number seven for Sagano. uh do it Tommo and he is doing it so far today. Most strikeouts for Tomyuki Sagano going all the way back to the end of April. Prior career high of eight against the New York Yankees and he got him. Tomayuki Sagano matches his career high with eight strikeouts here this afternoon facing the Rockies. So Gunnar Henderson would advance with a fieldielder’s choice in that era out into scoring position. Jane Hill, top pitching prospect in the Rockies organization, comes in ranked 16th overall. And spiked it. That’ll advance Henderson quickly to third. Rounding and heading towards the plate. Gunners making the dash and he’s in there. What a play. This is a perfect example of why you never assume anything at the big league level. And Jaden Hill on the bump for the Rockies just thought in the back of his mind, well, Gunnar Henderson’s just going to take an extra 90. Well, check that. He took two extra 90s right there. The dude just plays like his hair is on fire. There is Sir Anthony Dominguez making his 43rd appearance of the year. A very good RA and opponents hitting 211 off the big righthander. Tough play Henderson. Why not keep on doing it, Gunnar? This guy has been sprawling all over the diamond to his right, to his left, racing around the bases. And how about the bare hand to get the out. 5-1 Orioles and the 02. Got it to finish the ball game. Arcia down on strikes. Dominguez with an exclamation mark in a 51 Orioles lead.
