Dwight Evans Throws Out Red Sox First Pitch, Says Hi to Mookie Betts
Uh Dwight Evans here at the ballpark. Uh throwing out the first pitch today. Great moment there with John Henry in the dugout. Uh Dwight Evans belongs in the Baseball Hall of Fame. Today is the induction ceremonies in Coopertown. He will be on the Contemporary Baseball era ballot in December, a 16 member committee. If any of those committee members are watching this right now, do the right thing. He had more home runs than any other hitter in the 80s. He belongs in the Hall of Fame. Full stop. Yes. Say it louder, GC. Absolutely. Say it louder. Uh here he is uh getting ready to throw out the first pitch today as we get ready. A little delay on that first pitch. Uh man, he always looks good, doesn’t he? Right. Look at that. Something to look up to there, Lenny. Right. Keep moving. When we’re like cars, we stop moving. We rust. He’s not He’s moving. Rob Rev. Snider behind the plate. There it is. as he throws the strike and gets the great ovation from the crowd. And the Red Sox and Alex Kora hugs all around after that first pitch. And uh who is he talking to here? There’s Rob Reed who made the catch as the Red Sox honor. Uh oh, check this out. I was told he was running over after. Here’s Mookie Betts, right fielder. two guys who played right field at Venway Park who both belong in the Hall of Fame. How’s that? He was the guy that always came to the minor leagues cuz me and Muki came up to every level together and he was there talking to Muki every week. It seemed like he’s just such a good guy and really really important to this organization. You just heard Muki. Yes, sir. Y I mean that’s everything. Now he’s hugging everybody. I don’t care about any but the moment with Dwight Evans that was special. Dwight Evans every year at spring training is there working with all the young players. uh he has given his uh soul to this this this franchise, this organization, this sport and again he belongs in the Baseball Hall of Fame. I don’t know how else to say
Dwight Evans stopped by Fenway Park on Sunday afternoon to throw out the ceremonial first pitch, and got to see some familiar faces.

Love Dewey, but imho, his stats are borderline at best for the HOF. Always great to see him, however. ⚾
