LIVE: Dallas Wings vs Las Vegas Aces | WNBA Regular Season 2025 I July 27, 2025 2K Live

Green with the ball and the trademark of both of these teams, strong defense. Got to love it. What will that mean for tonight’s contest? Well, the coaches will have a big role in a strength on strength matchup. Game planning takes on added importance. One more thing about these things, there is no shortage of effort. Now here’s Young started now by Walle. Here’s Grunny and Queen outside of Goal. Outside Hines Allen on the clock for three queen to get things underway. Yeah, he’s a relief to get those first points out of the way and up on the board. Yeah, let’s play some basketball cover. The vision Gray has on the floor is exceptional spots and opening and picks up the assist. Now here’s Queen pass to Carrington finds Allen outside of Mal great defending Saints. Well, you pay so much attention to Smith. You can see why that’s a huge plus for this team. It can open up things for others. Now the aces with it and four-point game outside. Here’s Lloyd. So she gets the whistle contact on the way up. Andrew Lloyd, what a fantastic player. So consistent. Well, she started off strong. Number one overall pick in 2015. WNBA Rookie of the Year. And she’s only gotten better from there. First free throw is good. And back in 2021, Juel Lloyd put up 22 points in a quarter, a WNBA record. Yeah, she did it in September of that year against the Mercury. Then in 2023, Lloyd leading the WNBA at almost 25 points per game. So we’re talking about maybe the best score in the league. So she gets them both. Void gets to the line pretty often for a guard. Lights out at the strike outside. I go screen by Hinden. Just five to shoot. One up, one down. United first shot in the game. There’s a reason why we see so much pick and roll in this league. Players like Hines Allen, they’re tough to guard to Parker Tus. And here is Lloyd back up. And it’s finished off by Parker Tyus. Such a grinder. Always doing the dirty work on the offensive glass. That’s what she brings to the table. Now about 3 minutes gone in the first quarter. Here’s a wall. That three off the mark outside. Floyd pass to Wilson over Queen. Wilson with the bucket and that makes it a tie ball game. Explosive first step with an accurate mid-range J. It’s part of what makes Wilson so tough to start the ball a good good ball movement. She put that pass in the ideal spot and I can guarantee you her teammate appreciated it. Now here’s Gray. He hasn’t yet put up any points in this one. Pass to Lloyd. Parker ties the screen and Lloyd gets it a go. Showing the strength right there. Boy busting her way through the paint. And here is Queen. She’s got six back. And that’ll be Dallas’s ball as it goes out of bounds. Here, here’s Queen Wilson. Pulls it down. Here’s Las Vegas Gray on top Wilson. Six on the shot clock outside. Young and misses. That would put him up. Now here is queen pass allen screen right side on the ball picking her up and out of bounds the aces will take it the aces making a Here’s Las Vegas. Picked by Lloyd inside. How hard that turns on. Oh, what a run the aces are on. You think we can call them a dynasty? Over the last four years, they have three trips to the finals and two championships. Now, I think the coming seasons will determine if they are officially a dynasty, but they’re definitely on that path. And they now lead as the free throw drops for her. Well, the W is always looking at new rules and ways to make the game better. They added a reset timeout this year. Yeah, I love it. You can use it to advance the ball. However, you can’t go to the sideline to huddle. Yeah. So, it’s a super short break. It keeps the game moving and it challenges coaches in how they communicate to players. And it’s the wings ball. Now queen six points for her. Good work there as it goes. Obviously Mallen 67 size helps her down low but she also has a little host of ways to beat you in some nice touch. Pass to Parker Titus. Lloyd back to Parker Titus. That ball nice that time from Joel Lloyd. Fantastic pass. She made that a very easy bucket with the setup. Here’s Queen to the middle. Here’s that one. Buries the seven footer. That assist from Martine after the bucket and it’s the Aces with the ball. Gray outside pass to Wilson over Smith. hits some rim on the way in and the bucket’s good. It’s so hard to contain her. I mean, she just gets it done however she has to do it. Green with the ball outside. Now here’s Macau guarded by Parker Tus. It’s Tiffany Mitchell on the wing. Pass to Gray. The put back. She hangs in there and cashes in on the second chance points. Rebounds well and has a knack for converting offensive rebounds into points. Wilson is electric. Now here’s Akuma. Wilson with the steel. A one-on-one situation. Yep, that goes with the willingness to push the tempo and out hustle opponents. Gray is a dangerous fast break option. Here’s Evan Walle. Smith outside pass to Carrington. Now queen great defending shot clock pocket six Mitchell Macau with the bucket encouraging to see Macau extends her range a bit forces her defender out some spacing to the floor up top Wilson Pass to Lloyd more trail and here is Queen Hook. Wilson holds it down. When you think about dominant players in the league, Asia Wilson right now is the first person that comes to mind. Well, her game really speaks for itself, doesn’t it? And then you factor in all the awards, all the accomplishments, and like you said, she has to be at the top of your list. One of the aces making a change here. on defense. Dallas trailing by four. Guys, for Asia Wilson, she’s always a factor night in and night out. Well, when you’re a multipletime MVP, us and the fans expect that. There’s no doubt she cemented herself as one of the best players of this generation. And the first one drops good at the Here’s Harris. Hines Allen up top. It’s stolen by Evans. And now the aces on the break to the right side. Pass to Stoke. Evans with it. It’s over. Harris. The sevenfooter balls. Pulling the strings. Evans thriving in the pick and roll. Now here’s Harris. passing and there it is. Very clever passing. She put that ball on a still for the Aces with the lead. It’s 9 seconds separating the shot clock in the game clock. Mitchell with it. She’s against Se Wilson in the post. Times out. When Wilson gets the ball in the post, she’s as good as anyone in the WNBA at getting the bucket or getting to the line. And she’ll take her third and fourth free throw shots of the night. And the first one at the line is good. And good on both. And here’s Harris. No scoring yet from Herd, but that’s likely to change. Here’s Charles. That one misses. Would have counted had it gone. And we’ve reached the end of the first quarter. Aces ahead, up by eight. And we’ll be back shortly for the start of the second quarter. And now the second quarter just getting set to begin. And guys, what’s your take on the Aces so far? Lots of their points have come from shots inside the keep. And that’s where they should continue to attack moving forward. I mean, why change the plan until they make you? Absolutely. Now Evans to Mitchell. Back to Evans. Gray screen by Gustoson. Three-pointer. And Gray gets it to go. A new age point guard. Gray doesn’t just handle the ball and pass the ball. She also hits it from deep at a crazy rate. Now here’s Sebras outside. Charles Harris with it. Evans covering passing the so she draws the foul on the shot. Harris to the line to shoot two. That goes on Dana Evans working her way to the line. Credits to Macallen for drawing contact. Now guys, late in the game, you need a hoop. Who are you going to? I’m going with Brianna Stewart. She’s been huge in the finals. Plus, at her height, she’s getting a good look almost every time. All right, this is going to shock you, Brian and Blake, but I agree with Brian. We’ve seen Stewie win every title, and she steps up in those big moments. She hits the second from the line. Here’s Gray. Outside Evans from the arc Allen goes in outside. Charles sees this outside pass to Harris. Here’s Charles and the three off target. Now here’s Evans. Defense is right there. Shoots the three. Dallas here in the second with about a minute and a half gone by. There’s a screen on the count. You might see this. It’s good from long range. excellent at stretching the floor. Seamless hitting threes is big to this offense. Outside Evans Gray outside Evans, six to shoot. Just Dena Evans with the triple. Three going down quickly at both ends. What an answer. You come at me with the three, I’m coming right back. Everybody gets a three. Dallas calls timeout. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat up here. Here’s Dallas now. It’s a 10-point game. Here’s McAllen. Soft touch off the glass. Puts her superb floor vision on full display. Harris is one of the more traditional point guards in this game. Outside Young, pass to Gray. Here’s Evans. Stokes outside. Young clock at six. Gray with it. She’s against Zebras. That one falls. The mechanics of Gray’s jumper when you break them down are unshakable. The team’s confidence in her abilities is well placed. And this Dallas franchise once represented the city of Detroit. Minnesota they won three championships. Yeah. Joining the league in year 2 in 1998, they enjoyed lots of success in the Motor City, but then they moved to Tulsa in 2011 and then to their current home of Dallas in 2016. Houston gets the bucket. The thing that Ray does again and again and again, provide your team with winning plays. Sears outside. Pass to Harris. Charles Gray defending. Charles in the post and a missed layup. There was just enough defensive pressure to get her off balance she down low. It’s tipped. Just with it. He’s picked up by Charles. Gray outside for three. Rebound by Charles. Here’s Dallas now. She was outside. Pass to Harris. There’s a screen by Macau to the paint and she facing away. Well, it’s about more than the impressive size of Mallen. She’s also got great touch and she’s showing it tonight. outside Young and here’s Stokes Gray by Charles. Pass to Stokes trying to shoot for three and another miss by Las Vegas. Dallas with the ball. They trail by seven. And now here’s Seagris guarded by Young Westside Charles to the inside. Nice play by the ball handler and finding an opening choosing to take a roll. Now here’s Evans. Remember by Harris. Back to Evans. outside Young. Yes, great play by Chelsea Gray to set it up. But usually she’s providing the pass. Young has to be happy to be on the receiving end of a catch and shoot. More than willing to fire. Pass behind Valentris. Here’s Harris. to the middle. Beautiful dish and the layup goes down. And how do has she been to give her team a lift? Yeah, certainly their deficit would be a lot bigger if it wasn’t for her efficiency at the offensive end of the floor. Now here’s Young. Back to Gray. Pass to Stokes. Young kicks the three. Another three for Las Vegas. They can’t afford to give you that kind of look. Well, it came off a good screen, but still as a defender, you have to fight over the top of it. You need some help as well. Here’s Harris Westside. Seagras outside Charles from downtown. right back at you. They immediately get those three points back. Just trading punches from long range. Been a heavyweight fight. Now here’s Gray. Seven points in the game outside. Young. There’s the triple. Now it look like that. She’s just got the gift for making the weak coverage today. What’s the surprising miss that she’s almost always deadly when she got open, even from way downtown? Well, Megan Gustoson was the original star from Iowa, scoring 28 points per game as a senior. Yeah, she didn’t get any of the hype of the latest Iowa star, Caitlyn Clark. Neither though was a national player of the year herself. And the lefty has been a quality WNBA player. Here’s Brian. Misses and close. Dallas with the ball. Six-point game inside. Lines Allen. Can’t get it to go. If she can get to the rim, she’ll usually turn it into points. But the defense stood tall there. Screen by Gusto. And it’s Dana Evans penetrating. Missed inside. I like the creativity. At any rate, trying to double clutch and catch the defender on the way down. Back to Sever. Young with the steal. Four on three as they bring it up. It’s stolen by Sebras. Pass to Harris. Back to Seagris. Outside Charles. There’s a screen by Macauen. Five on the clock. And that one goes in and she’s fouled. There will be three points where she can convert the free in a league of tall players. 6’7 Tiarra Macauen still stands out. And it’s not just about her height. It’s about how she uses it. Entering the 2024 season, Macauan has the best career rebounding percentage in league history. Well, there’s no question that the Las Vegas Aces have established themselves as the gold standard of the W. Well, it’s about more than those two titles. They opened up a 64,000 square foot practice facility back in 2012. the first WNBA team to have their own dedicated practice facility. That’s showing a major investment in the team and the league with it passing. And here’s Carrington. Guarded by Young. Now here is Queen by for us. Very close to making the defense pay for the lack coverage that time. Not a great habit to get into, letting Kirk get that wide open. Check out the quickness from Juel Lloyd. Not only beating the defender to the spot, but also converting through contact. Now, here’s a wallal covered by Lloyd. Now here’s Aubal pass to Macau now cleanes a three and released it in time but it’s off the mark. That’ll do it for the first half. The Aces on top up seven and we’ll be back for the second half following the break. Keep it right here on 2K Sports. Heat up here. And the second half about to start in just a few moments. Macauan with a strong contribution so far in this one. She played a very smart game offensively, looking for and finding gaps in the defense and always looking for the best shot possible. Yeah, the way she played that first half, well, that’s exactly what we’re talking about when we talk about being efficient on offense. And here are the aces now. And here is Gray pass to Lloyd and a foul called on the shot. One of the toughest players in the league. She’s just 510, but Lloyd is never scared of taking it into defenders. She’s had four chances at the line and made all of them. First one falls for And that one falls. So she hits both of them. Dallas with the ball. They trail by nine points. Smith outside. Bean up top. Harington. Pass from and here’s Hines Allen. Here’s Queens. It’s holding by Chelsea. A rebound by Wings outside with the ball. Here’s Smith. Queen covering three left side goes out. I know this outside of now Queen has six. They get it back. Finds Allen. Asia Wilson with some nice deep. The aces with the lead. Gray guarded now by back to Lloyd Queen and a basket by Lloyd. Today we’re seeing what Wood can do. Put the ball in the bucket over and over. her diverse skill set. It allows her to rack up some points. Now, here’s Ein. And that one’s good. Here’s Gray. Seven points in the game. Wilson outside back to Gray over Queen and Green gets it to go using a soft touch and a purposeful offensive approach. Ray’s able to finish around the basket in a variety of ways. Time called here, the Wings decide to talk it over. Heat up here. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Man, these guys have had some good motion on offense. Nice assist. When everybody’s involved offensively, it’s in a way helping you defensively, too. Now, here’s Carrington. He hasn’t scored yet. That I’m sure will change. And when it comes to San Diego native Dane Carrington, the word you hear a lot when her teammates describe her is effort. You’re not going to find too many players who work harder than she does. Whether it’s on defense or in the off season or in practice, she is always trying to improve. Here’s Queen. Eight points for her. Outside of Gundow and the layup off the glass as they come, a Gundal with zero issues scoring inside. We don’t see that in a lot of guards. Ray outside spins. Pass to Wilson. Six to shoot. Reminds Allen and it’s Wilson. It’s very dangerous to leave her open like that. Lucky break for the D that she missed it. Now here is Queen to the paint. Wilson pulls it down. That one goes across the boards with purpose right there. Some hard to earn second chance points. Wilson outside. That’s another one for her. Her fifth in just seven shots. Well, she’s never one of the taller players in the league, but Lloyd’s crafty moves help her get buckets down low. Lays it up and face it in. Two assists there. Not for a pass, but for the solid screen set on the inside that put her up and really just made that layup possible. Now, here’s Gray. Nine points in the game. Here’s Wilson. Hits the jump hook. And what a great play. Totally stole the defender right back on her heels in that one. Outside of pass to Hindi her up and made her alter the trajectory of the shot that time. Definitely some very sound defense played on that trip down. Now here’s Wilson. Points for her. Great. Well timed pass and goes straight to the bucket for the layup. You can always depend on her to put that lead pass right on the money. Queen with the ball. Eight points for her. Pass to Hind and no good. Nice defense from Asia Wilson. Now here’s Gray Floyd started now by Floyd with the bucket. They’ve been very sound offensively in the second half. And there’s really no comparison between the teams in terms of the way they’ve both shot the ball since the break. You kind of wonder what was one team talking about in the locker room and and what was the other on the wing Jane Carrington. Some solid defense from Jackie Young. And here is Gray. She’s got 11. Pass to Young. Now Lloyd that falls. Nice feed that time from Jackie Young. They are putting the hammer down. Just a huge lead for them. And it doesn’t matter if we’re talking about their offense or their defense because it has all been working for them. Yeah. To build this lead, you have to do both. Pass the queen. this. It’s good. You know, she’s done a ton to help this team, but uh if they’re going to come back, she needs to do even more. And here are the aces now. Gray outside Lloyd. Now, here’s Parker Tyus. Great D that time from Melissa Smith. Now queen 10 points for her passen and that one cross. Well, we know Hines Allen can score from the outside, but don’t forget she’s a problem down low and it’s the aces with the ball. Here’s Gray. Here’s Young covered by Carrington. Here’s Wilson. Rebound by the Wings. Well, I mean, at least Brian, it looked like it was going to be an easy two points there. You’re right, Tim. And she’s got some angry words for herself after that miss. Now, here’s Smith. Wyatt so far offensively searching for her first points of the game. Just like all the best guards, the elite guards in the world, Organ finds ways to score inside the Aces. And in 2023, Melissa Smith led the WNBA in defensive rebound percentage. You know, defensive rebounding, it’s not a skill we talk a lot about, but it’s so important. You end the defensive possession with the board. And Smith, just as good as anyone at boxing out, securing the glass. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Both teams will make substitutions. out to Gray. Evans Mitchell outside shot clock at five. Rebound by Caesars. This gives them the opportunity to get within 10. Now here is clean. He’s covered closely. Out to the wing. Screen by Macauan. Six feet out. The main shot. No good. Outside. Evans. Shot to end the home run. Dreams the three-pointer. Well, Evans can absolutely knock it down. She’s very patient and make sure she gives the shot everything she has. And 5second differential between the shot clock and game clock. Pass to James. There’s the three. Drops in the screen from everywhere. I wasn’t sure they should try to get the three right back like that, but hey, it worked out for them. Evans with it and she comes up with the deuce. Well, through 3/4 of play, down double digits. It may be difficult to overcome. The Aces on top, they lead by 13. And time to step away quickly, but we’ll be back in no time with the start of the fourth quarter. And we welcome you back as we get going into the fourth quarter. The final quarter of play can change everything. Now here’s Harris. Pass to Macauen. Harris with it. And here’s Macauan. And here’s Harris. Block at four. Shot from the wind. And she wheels that one in. Sinking right through back on. They can’t afford to give you that kind of look. Well, it came off a good screen, but still as a defender, you have to fight over the top of it. You need some help as well. Now, here is Lloyd. Count it. That’s what makes Lloyd so dangerous. She scores everywhere on the floor, even places like the mid-range. Passing games. Here’s Harris. This one for three. You have three balls. Well, like Harris need to be able to stretch the floor. And there she does. Young guarded by Charles. Back to Lloyd. The three is up. About a minute and a half through the fourth quarter now. Now here’s Harris. Here’s James. He’s from deep and Harris plays with such a strong basketball guys. Great job in finding the wide open teammate outside. Evans outside Lloyd good for her ninth make in just 12 shots and even 75% shooting. And Lloyd is a proficient three-point shooter which is probably why she takes these in bunches. James covered by Lloyd. Pass to Harris. The wing jumper off target. She had all the space she needed but just could not find the bottom of the bucket. beyond the arc. That time with the ball and it’s a 10-point game. Now here is Green covered by Lloyd down lowris off the glass right to the left. Sebras barreling through the defender for the score. Now Evans pass to Young. Now here’s Evans by Harris Lloyd by Gustin. Back to Young from deep. You know, sometimes just because you can make it from way out there, it doesn’t mean you should try. Kind of hypocritical coming from you, Tim. I mean, it wasn’t that far out. Anyways, she can work for a better shot than that. Now, here’s Evans. Three on three fast break. Charles in the post guarded by Young. Charles no good. It’s almost like she’s trying to make things fun herself. Work it around. Get an easier shot. Out to Lloyd. Puts up a three. It’s good. And that takes her to 77% shooting this game. 10 for 13. Decisive. It is the quality for any good shooter. Floyd has it. Just get the ball. Fire away. Pass to Charles. And here’s Harris. Outside the arc. It’s rebounded by Jackie Young. Here’s Evans. It’s not going to go forward. Here’s Harris to the painting. Second shot opportunity as she takes it up and lays it in. Where was the box up? Some easy second chance points. Those kinds of mistakes on the glass will kill a team. And the aces call time here. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. The aces with the lead. outside. Young pass to Lloyd. Gray right side. Young now Lloyd. Here’s the three. And another miss by Las Vegas with the ball. And the bucket counts as she’s on her way to the line to try to make it a three-point play. Heat. Heat. And that one misses pass. And it’s going to be two free throws. Contact on the shot. It’s on Young. and she makes the first And she makes the free throw. Gray with it. 199 Baloid fires from deep. Here’s Queen to the inside of the three is holding by Chelsea Gray. You can tell she thought that trigger was pitif. She’s just shaking her head after that miss. Now Wilson coming by Hansen outside. Quality ditch by Wilson. Good heads up basketball helps her find the open play. Wings Trail outside now Queen. Shot clock at six. Rebound by Asia Wilson. outside Young over to the wing. Now here’s Parker Tus off with the layup and it’s the wings ball trailing here by eight. And now here’s Carrington. D right on her wall. Let’s go from deep from downtown. Just a fearless competitor. It’s obvious loves taking over during important possessions. Here’s a nice touch on the glass. Nice pass. She got that ball right into her teammate pocket and a huge outside Wilson pulls it down. And here are the aces now inside. Out of bounds. It’s a race against time as they look to make a run here. Yeah, the clockies are definitely not on their side right now. A player who knows a lot about hitting flut shots remains poised under pressure. Now here’s Wilson passoy gray queen covering right outside the green Lots of contact there up the line. That one on Lloyd. Confident, strong and athletic, agale is a tough cover. We’re good on the first and that shoots the margins to just four. And the second team, no good. A tough break there. They really could have used a perfect trip to the line there. Instead, they’re still down two possessions. Now, here’s Gray covering outside. Young pass Roy double team on Roy down on the shot clock winner Jackie Young connects from three-point range time called the wides your thoughts guys. I applaud them for trying until the very end but uh this one’s in the bag. Absolutely. The only thing this timeout’s going to do is draw out the misery a little bit longer. And we’ve got dinner plans tonight. There’s a wall with the three. It’s all in by the Aces. So, the Aces win it. They seem to relish their role as the villains here. I sense that, too. They really did feed off all the negative energy this crowd was directing at them. They turned it around and used it to motivate them to close out the win. So, that’s going to do it for this one, folks. Heat. Heat.
