New York Yankees vs Philadelphia Phillies | Game Highlights (7/27/25)

Carlos Rodon’s 22nd start for the Yankees. The Allstar 10 and seven, 3.1 OE RA, 139 strikeouts. Well below league average in strikeouts. So this becomes a battle. There it is. Turner down on strikes against guys like Kyle Forward. You can’t afford not to get strikes called that are strikes. And that would have been strike three. There’s strike three. [Applause] [Music] That one is looped to Chisum and a strong first inning for Carlos Odon which hires the Phillies in order and the Yankees coming to bat. Zack Wheeler his 21st start of the year 9 and three 2.39. There’s Cody Bellinger who has great numbers against Wheeler 6 for 15 left center field and Schwarber backpedaling falls down and makes the play. It’s good when you can laugh at yourself, Michael. Glasses came flying off. He still made the play. Highfly ball left field on the run. Dominguez is back on the track at the wall seat. A home run for Costanos and it’s one- nothing Bills. After making a mistake with one to to Costanos, he’s thrown two to Kemp and really good ones. Fly ball deep right field. Bellinger back on the track at the wall. See youa a home run for Kemp. Two home runs against Rodon. It’s two nothing Bills. That one is ripped into right center field. And the dive and the incomplete dive by Rojas. Backing up is Castanos. So Ros tried to make a beautiful play couldn’t come up with it. And a single for St. Chism four for nine in the first two games of the series. And that got Chisum. So the Yankees with runners on first and second and nobody out here in the second inning. He’s got really good command as he’s only walked 26 batters this year and it’s not today. Wow. So Dominguez gets hit and just like that the Yankees have the bases loaded. Nobody out. Wheeler in trouble here in the bottom of the second. Two nothing Phils. Couple of solo home runs. Ground it. Fair ball down the right field line. That’ll go into the corner. Stan scores. Chisum scores. Dominguez will stop at third. It’s a two-run double for McMahon. And the Yankees have tied the score. [Applause] Fly ball. Schwarber tagging Dominguez. Catch is made. Here comes Dominguez. Here’s the throw. and he scores. It’s a sack fly for Wells and the Yankees take a 3-2 lead. Three runs in. Yankees up three to2. Ground ball through for a base hit. McMahon rounds third. He’s coming home. He will score. Hits an RBI single for Gisham. And the Yankees lead four-2. Line right field. Costanos has it get by him and go all the way to the wall. Here comes Bellinger grounding second. He’ll go to third and he will make it with a triple. He’s won six or more innings 17 times. Has 15 quality starts, which is six innings of three runs or fewer. Fly ball left center on the run. Rojos makes the catch, tagging is Bellinger. The throw is in time. What a tag by Riomudo. If his feet touch the base first, he’s going to be safe. Wow, he’s out. That one is looped and caught by McMahon. Strike three. Costayaniano’s down looking. I think he’s still the same player. and he goes down on strike. So, it’s been a nice bounce back for Rodon after the two home runs. Otto Kemp with a high-fly ball at center field going back. Gisham on the track off the wall. See youa Otto Kemp with his second home run of the day against Carlos Rodan. It’s 4-3 Yanks. Strike three. That is an empty calorie at bat for Johan Rojos. An empty calorie. Yeah. Yeah. One-1 ground ball and grabbed by McMahon. He gets the out at first despite the speed. What a play by McMahon. He has blasted some leather in these two games. Just a really heads up play. That’s the internal clock that’s so important for infielders. Highfly ball right field and deep. Bellinger back. He’s on the track. He’s at the wall and he makes the play. used up all of the real estate in right center here in the Bronx and he hauled it in for the final out. Second and third, two outs. That would have given the Phillies the lead, but Bellinger makes the play and Philadelphia strands two. We’re halfway through. Rodon at 90 pitches. Boon usually comes out with the hook and there it is. He signals to the bullpen to call on Low Isaac. So, the day is over for Rodani leaves with a one-run lead. Runner goes swing and a miss. Got him. Big strike out for Lois. Turn to Luke Weaver after Loisak had came on to get the final two outs of the six. And here’s the payoff again. He chased another pitch out of the zone and Sosa down on strikes. Fly ball center field. Gisham puts it away and a strong one, two, three inning for Luke Weaver as he retires the Phillies in order. And Harper grounds one to Vulpi and Tim Hill does what Tim Hill does and he gets the Phillies in order. B2 swing and a miss. Castanos down on strikes. Highfly ball. right center. Backing up is Gisham and he makes the play. Williams sets and the 3-2. Got him. Now they can cheer. A foul ball held on to by Wells and the Yankees win four to three to salvage the final game of this three game set. [Music] There’s nothing you can’t do. Count your [Music]

  1. Dan is blessing us once again with an upload. πŸ™ Hopefully we can get more highlights this week.

Bronx Bombers πŸ—½ get a solid win over a contender without their best player. Rodon didn't get shelled despite the HR bug bitting him. Stanton has been swinging a hot bat that month .295/.368/.672 7HR 17RBI. BP was solid which is definitely needed. Next on the hot list is TB.

Bonus: TOR, HOU and TB all loss.

    GO YANKEES!!!!#CHASEFOR28

  2. Hi dan! thanks for the highlights. I might be late for the watch party tomorrow (if there is one) my family and i have dinner plans for my birthday. but i will be able to participate later on in the stream!

  3. Glad that Devin Williams is finally getting comfortable on the mound, and not giving Yankee fans heart attacks watching the game πŸ˜‚

  4. Let's gooooo yankees..finally we stop the lapses…great win…heavy loads nxtwk games..solid team needs to play much better to comeback on winning tracks 😊😊😊😊😊

  5. Nice Beginning for McMahon

Except for 3 solo shots of RΓ²don, Yanks looked sharp and had good hustle
Crisp, sharp baseball – the way I like it.

    TY DAN

prayers for a speedy recovery for our captain!

  6. Glad we were able to grind out a win, but these 1-for-3 series' aren't gonna do anything to help climb outta the whole. Let's see a sweep and I'll be re-invigorated…

  7. Do you think that maybe we can get a manager that doesn't go to his dog or hamster to set lineups. He's not a good leader and never will be. Rather have Bret or Dan'l Boone running team.

  8. Those home runs the Phillies hit.. it was like they exploded off the bat usually easy. Glad the Yankees held on. The bullpen hasn’t been trust worthy in months.

  9. Ohh yeah, congrats, Yankees team!
    Everyone did an amazing jobπŸ€ŒπŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘!!!
    ⚾️ Let's go Yankees πŸ€ͺπŸ’™πŸ€—πŸ€πŸŒΌ!!!

  10. I want New York Yankees to trade Carlos Rodan AARON JUDGE Gian Carlo Stanton
Trade to SAN DIEGO PADRES For Matt Waldron Dylan Cease Jake CRONEWORTH
Trade to New York Yankees Now

  11. So relieving seeing the bp hold the game down for once. Loisaga and weaver looked like their normal selves and Devin closed off phenomenally as usual!!! And McMahon is finding his groove in the Bronx!!!
