He’s not really wrong. If your 2nd pick isn’t worth a max, it sets you back considerably. Last season was a mess and hard to judge, if health isn’t a problem again we’ll have a better chance to judge Miller upside.
I’m not fully confident Miller is that. He doesn’t show the upside of being a primary guy, he can score but his driving is really underdeveloped, playmaking is bare minimum, it feels like his only “answer” on offense is just shooting a pull-up. I don’t see him being a first option. He has to get stronger and better at playing in the paint, as a driver, finisher and decision maker.
Listened to the segment, and he proves again to be one of the few media voices that actually watches and makes proper analysis of the Hornets.
He’s “higher than most” on LaMelo, believes Brandon Miller will hit, and clearly understands the current Front Office’s vision (which is to aggressively tank and looking long term). He also shouts out Diabate as a good bench player and is intrigued by Kalkbrenner whilst also stating the obvious that our frontcourt is terrible.
It’s just nice to listen to someone in the mainstream media space who understands our team.
