2025 Packers Camp Practice 5 Instant Reactions

What’s going on Packers fans? Aaron Negler here with Cheese Head TV coming to you from Lambo Field after practice number five here at Packers training camp in Green Bay. A physical affair, the pads came on and Nate Hobbs, it doesn’t matter if the head coach tells him to dial it back. He ain’t going to apparently. One of the very first plays in team uh they ran a pitch to the left. Marshon Lloyd was getting the corner and then in flies Hobbs and takes him out at the legs and you know was not malicious as Matt said. It was a good football hit but certainly not what you want to see at practice. You want to take care of your guys and Hobbs was not about that life. Zack Tom got in Hob’s face a little bit after the play and Lloyd was on the ground for a bit with the training staff and got up, limped back to the area where the players stand during drill work and had his helmet taken away and did not participate for the rest of the day. So, we’ll see what the prognosis is there. Very frustrating that Lloyd can’t get through the first patted practice after missing as much time as he did last season. Other notable moments, uh, Nazir Stackhouse, he’s a player. Uh I’m in on I’m buying all the Nazir stack house uh stock as it were. Uh he was running with the twos today and made a number of really nice plays up front. Even if he’s not making the play, he is not getting moved. Uh there is no doubt that this man knows about leverage, knows the game, and even when you know he’s not providing a ton as far as the pass rush goes, he’s still moving the line of scrimmage backwards. I love this player. very excited to see him continue to grow and get more opportunities with the Packers. On the offensive side of the ball, rookie wide receiver Sam Brown Jr. just keeps making plays. He had a ridiculous catch on the right sideline where he skies and makes sure as he’s falling, he checks himself in relation to the ground to make sure he falls in bounds. Just another day with another great catch from an undrafted rookie receiver. It seems like an annual occurrence in Green Bay and Sam Brown Jr. is the latest. really excited to see him continue to get more opportunities, but also hopefully get more opportunities up the food chain, so to speak. Maybe run with the twos and ones a little bit and certainly he is going to hopefully make some noise once the preseason begins. Um the other receiver who had just I thought a phenomenal day was Matthew Golden. Uh for the most part, he had a play on the right sideline on a deep over route. Keshan Nixon draped all over him. really good coverage from Nixon and Golden just did a phenomenal job of snagging the ball at the highest point and making sure he got his feet inbounds for a big play in ones versus ones. I mean that that looked special. Um, of course, as a rookie, you’re going to have your ups and downs and there was a moment later on when they were showing pressure and then the defense bailed into a cover two and Love tried to hit Golden in kind of the turkey hole between the corner and the safety. He tried to lop it kind of over the linebacker which meant it was a little high and Golden went up to get it. He should have caught it. Instead, it bounces into the air and Nate Hobbs comes down with an interception. These are, you know, the trials and tribulations of a rookie going through things, but you certainly saw on balance a really another really good strong day from Golden. Um, finally, the defense continues to attack the football. Uh Evan Williams was the latest defender to put get the ball on the ground with a great uh strip of Tucker Craft. Craft had a really nice catch and gain and then Evan Williams uh basically dislodged the ball and it was on the carpet. Uh really nice play from Williams and you can tell I know it’s one thing for coaches and players to talk about, oh this is an emphasis. It has clearly been emphasized in Green Bay this off seasonason and it is something they are doing down in and down out and it is producing results. Of course, on the flip side, offense, come on now, get stop putting the ball in the grass. Uh, I’ll be back later this afternoon with my Packers Daily Chat. Make sure you’re joining us here on the Cheese Head TV YouTube channel and our social stations. Uh, and as always, please tell your friends and tell your family. 1. Nate gotta keep doing what hes doing. This team has been out physicaled too many times by the Lions, Eagles, even the Bears. Players need to get tough. Its good that our team is a family but we dont need a soft family we need a tough one. They got Hobbs for his physicality cant be mad when he uses it. We cant be soft and win the Lombardi. Plus Lloyd is injury prone, shit he was injury prone at USC. But I hope he bounces back. I hope Lloyd gets well soon. Love the channel Aaron just my opinion on it.

  2. How did NFL teams manage in the past? I mean 2 a days, tackling, hitting? And they still managed to actually play real football after those types of practices. I am not saying anything against today's methods. But I'm just curious
