[Pavon] “There hasn’t been much of a market for Nikola Vucevic all along, dating back to last trade deadline,” Fischer said. “I think at this juncture, we’re probably more likely to see a Nikola Vucevic buyout midseason than we are to see a trade.”

  1. I fully expect Vucevic to be in the starting lineup come October. No need to get upset over that. It is what it is. If he’s still in the starting lineup…no, ON THE ROSTER after the trade deadline? That will let me know if this organization is actually committed to a youth movement.

  2. the Vooch move set this franchise back a decade. Why not just fuckin let him walk like you did everyone else essentially

  3. They’re trying to trade Vucevic since last season and nobody wanted to give a good in return for him. The bulls should just let him walk

  4. >Amid the Chicago Bulls’ full-blown rebuild

Did I miss when they started tearing it down and amassing draft capital?

  5. I doubt he’ll get bought out, there seems very little value for the Bulls in doing so. I would be surprised, though, if some team doesn’t do a trade just to get the expiring contract.

The Bulls take on longer term money for someone youngish that AKME sees “long term potential” in, and the other team gets under a cap that I still have doubt will grow as much as expected.

  6. I fully expect Patrick Williams and Vucevic in the starting lineup for game 1 this season

  7. Because they see what we see, who the fuck what’s a slow big, that can’t jump, or play D

  8. Yeah no shit. He’s not that good and he’s aging. Such a shit trade to begin with

  9. Vuc is on an expiring, we’re not good, if there isn’t a market for him the Billy will play him through the end of his deal under the guise of remaining competitive.

  10. A buyout? When we could’ve fucking traded him before extending him? When we could’ve fucking tanked and gotten a good pick 2+ drafts in a row?

This franchise just defies any and all conventional wisdom. Fucking BullShit

  11. It does seem that is the most likely outcome. Ayton, Clarkson, smart, cole anthony, and others have already been bought out which tells you the teams dont think they carry much value as expiring contracts which seems bad even if you think Vuc is still a productive player.

I think if there was more interest in him, his agent probably would have found a way for him to get bought out this summer already. maybe he just really likes being here though

  12. Yeah no shit. If there was a market, a trade would’ve happened.

There will only be a market if the bulls are willing to offload picks or obtain a longer contract.

Buyout will only happen if Vooch specifically requests it, which I hope he does when he realizes he wasted three more years of his career with this sad team. But hey can’t blame him for taking 60m.

  13. Teams just play with the Bulls. Vuc gets 18 and 10 in his sleep. He’s very valuable to any team that has interior defense and could use more offense and rebounding.

I think it’s become clear to the rest of the NBA that if you can fleece the Bulls and get quality players while giving up nothing or almost nothing. Teams are just waiting for AK to get desperate so they can toss us a g league dude and 20 bucks

  14. But, but, but … people in this thread kept telling me his contact was fine because it was so tradable!?

  15. No way they’re buying him out. Just let him play at this point and see if anyone offers anything of substance. If not, there is still the ability to extract an asset on a sign and trade in free agency.

  16. No one has wanted Vuc for 2 years now. I continue to not believe any reports that anyone was offering the Bulls anything but a bad contract or two and MAYBE a back end 2nd rd pick.

That’s not worth anything. Sorry y’all. I know some people were screaming management should take literally anything for Vuc, but that’s not an asset worth even looking at. I dislike teams that accept crap offers for vets that are still decent players because that lowers the market for everyone. Vuc had a 2.7 VORP last season, which is good. I get his 2nd half wasn’t nearly as good as his 1st half. I’m just saying he’s not terrible.

Buzelis has credited Vuc with being a mentor. He’s a good vet in the clubhouse. It’s hard to develop players if you don’t have decent vets. Look at Washington and Charlotte. That’s worth more than the 56th pick and having an unplayable player on the roster that may go beyond the 2025-2026 season.

A year of Vuc and having $20M+ in cap space is fine. You weren’t getting anything of value for Vuc. Playing him and getting cap space at the end is not the worst thing. The worst thing was to make a desperate trade for a back end 2nd and lose cap space going forward.

  17. If I’m any other team, I’m not trading anything for Vuc. I’d wait to see if the Bulls let him walk then try and sign him.

  18. Ppl “omg let him walk” also those ppl “omg we let him walk for nothing” lol

  19. Teams that want him are behind this campaign 🤣

the five best teams last season has a stretch big.

Holmgren, Myles Turner/Pascal Siakam, KAT, Naz Reid and Jokic.

Stretch bigs are a thing. And both needs are being covered by Vooch. Rebounding and spacing.

There is market for Vooch. But there’s likely no team willing to pay a first rounder for him.

So AKME need to wait for failures or injuries(not wishing one) of the current starting centers to grab a FRP.
