Five items on the fish for dinner menu. Uh and um the bland news is good stuff. The gayen news not so much. We’ll cross our fingers there and we’ll keep you updated as we go. Uh he was uh Tyler Gayton first round pick of course last year down for a time needed medical attention. got up under his own power eventually and then was kind of one of these deals, you know, guided to the locker room with the help of Micah Parsons who um make himself useful in his tennis shoes and his sore back and his hold out as he waits for hold in as he waits for a new contract almost certainly going to pay him over $40 million APY. So, it looked like Gayton just got rolled up on and um not necessarily serious, but we’re going to uh cross our fingers and hold our breath. Uh Enrique, Steel hurt, too. Steel deal with that that ankle, but remember, Steel did participate uh at some level yesterday. No word yet officially from the team on the nature of the injury. Gton, as you know, second season, he’s he’s remade his upper body, uh, changed his diet, got a little more serious. Kids will do that. Jeffrey Hawthorne, Uncle Fish Premium, I’m with you, old-timer. Rub some dirt on it. Or if that doesn’t work, tape an aspirin to it. But we will uh keep you posted on what’s going there. Of course, started 11 of 15 games last year. had his ups and downs as he as he was trying to figure out what in the world he could do. The Cowboys think they do have swing tackle depth there and uh and so they will play around uh at left tackle with uh some possible options. Of course, Rob Jones, as we told you this morning, a broken bone in his neck in the offensive line. He’ll miss two to three months. So, yeah. Um Steel’s got a bum ankle. Gayton limps off and Rob Jones is out for three months with a broken bone in his neck. Those of you who are saying you’re kind of piling up in the offensive line, yes, that is fair to say, Zack, good thing we’re deep on the offensive line. It’s true. You might not be great in the offensive line, but you’re deep in the offensive line. That much is so. Item three, Dion, age 57, semi friend of the show, just beat cancer. uh he said it was bladder cancer. Now there’s some interesting uh Dion related um web extensions on the web here. Uh Mr. Adventures Fish plans on the new Substack site in relation to YouTube. Enjoyed producing it today. Yeah, no changes in what we do at YouTube except it’ll all be it’ll all be meshed together. So, you’ll be able to get some video stuff there. But the our the YouTube our commitment to YouTube is uh is unchanged. No issue there. Josh Blae with the $5 pitch in Fish. It looks like Tolbert another year of not a route separation guy and Mingo looks like he’s having an excellent camp. I think Tolbert is your third guy, but I’ll I’ll agree with you on this much. Uh Josh, we know the ceiling on Tolbert. I think we know what it is and we what he is is okay. We do not and they don’t have any idea what the ceiling is on Mingo. And that’s why I call he he’s the mystery trade. They didn’t know it when they traded for him. 6’2 220 second round pick. Scott got pedigree. Still young. Uh he’s done some things in this first week of camp. He he’s going to play you would think a great deal in the preseason. a lot of mingo in the preseason partly because, you know, they they they want him and they need him and and what but they they want to prove themselves right. He had a couple too many drops early on. I mean, you know, this is his opportunity to go do something and I would say that he would not get off to a great start today. Not get off to a great start. Uh, Enrique Spoonaker’s playing well. Revan Span Ford, sir, is better. Uh, Revan Span Ford outdid Scooney in OTAAS and mini camp. It was clear had a good camp. That’s good. Roger S. Turpin for a thousand yards as a receiver. VJ, can we discuss the grenade dance? Let’s do that. So CD Lamb, oh, and then we’ll get back to Dion in a moment. So CD Lamb and George Pickins have been practicing. So one of them is going to score a touchdown. Then they’re going to, you know, do this and then they’re going to take a what appears to be a hand grenade and they’re going to pull the pin and then they’re going to throw it over their shoulder and then they’re going to run. And it’s plenty cute and funny to some. The NBA has dealt with this. Morant of Memphis, they find him $75,000 over the course of the last year cuz he kept doing hand grenade and bomb and gun stuff. Uh I would argue that in this climate, this is me. Well, you know what? It’s not just me. It’s also the NFL because they’re going to get fined if they do that. and CDs already said, “I’ll pay the fine.” Okay. In the in the climate in which we live and I’m old and I’m gray, but I’m deish devilishly handsome. Let’s not make any mistake about that. I just think flipping the ball to the referee would be the most unique touchdown dance of this era. But I can certainly be and I can certainly understand why somebody’s saying in this climate where we’re we’re we’re not we’re not handling our our violence very well. How about that? Dion, age 57, he beat bladder cancer, he says. Now, he’s had some things. He got the toe amputated and he almost had his leg amputated and uh stuff that he’s dealing with health-wise and he kind of kept it all a big secret. But Cub Fish, I’m 61. I look better than you. It really is not that great of a challenge. Looking better than me, all seriousness, uh looking better than me does not make you a particular winner. So Dion says, “I didn’t tell my kids.” Now I I He must have meant I didn’t tell Shadur and Shiloh because he definitely told Junior since Junior did a is doing a documentary on him beating cancer. Jason Zimmerman, why don’t you sing anymore fish? What a beautiful request. Might have to get on that. Breakfast at fishing 8 am tomorrow morning. Mark it down. Every time somebody burps, they put it on TikTok thinking this could be my big chance to be famous. Um, it’s also revealed over the course of this announcement video that Dion is dating this sugar. This is why we need you. He’s dating an actress slashmodel named Karuchi Tron. Tran Tron. It’s not my not really my bag. What we know about her is her two of her previous boyfriends were Rob Kardashian and Chris Brown. So, I would say I don’t know what do I know about uh producing fine quality video. I would say I’d get my uh Karuchi Tron girlfriend in there and and I beat cancer and I got the kids and I got I’ I’d get Chris Brown and Rob Kardashian into the video if I was really trying to make it a hit. Just a little uh professional word to the wise. Item four. Uh this is big news and good news. Don Bland who gosh couple months ago said no progress, nothing, nobody talking contractwise. uh today is saying that they have opened up talks with the Cowboys. Quote, “Dallas is where I want to be. Hopefully, we can get it done.” There’s no question that he wants to be here and they want him. That’s not the issue. Fish, can uh Sugar put together a list of her highly rated hotels that are close to the Maverick Bar for the big get together? My wife’s request. Yes, we could do that. That’s a good one, Josh. We absolutely will do that. And between the Star and the Maverick Bar, which are 11 minutes apart, uh there there’s there’s everything super high class to darn nice. So, we will absolutely do that for you. No problem at all. By the way, uh that is Cowboys at Panthers week, October 12th. Right there it is. Marshia doesn’t allow it over here. The issue isn’t do they want Bland? Does Bland want them? The issue is the difference between 20 million and 30 million. Trayvon Diggs, everybody felt pretty good about it when he got 20 million and that was a big one. Now the going, you know, if you’re S Gardner level guy at quarterback, now it’s now it’s 30 million. So how do they bridge that gap? Bland still only 25 I think 26. Yeah, I think he just turned 26 July 12th. 2023 first team allp pro. Uh did not get it done last year in terms of his usual playmaking obviously injuries there. Can they can they get what they feel is a hey you were hurt last year you didn’t do much relative discount? I can understand why they don’t want to do 30. I can understand why he doesn’t want to do 20. Oh, by the way, uh Joe Panos, Tyron Smith agent, you might have gotten to know him during the Tyron Smith retirement thing. He is hanging out in Oxnard with Stephen. He represents Tyler Smith. So that conversation surely I I mean I think we can almost pretty much say Cowboys have opened contract negotiations face to face regarding Tyler Smith. Shotty told it of they got to the they got to the 12th pick and the defensive line coach here is starting to pounding the table say take take Donovan easy and I think some of the guys in the room go at 12 take at 12. So he must have had a good grade on the board. Then of course they eventually get him in the second round. So three guys off to a good Jerry start. Gayton hopefully he’s okay.
