[Matheson] George Springer is feeling better and he’s here with the team, just not in the #BlueJays’ lineup for Game 1.

  1. I wouldn’t mind if they gave him the rest of the series off regardless. You don’t want to take chances when there’s a concussion risk. Hopefully he’s good to go on Friday.

  2. That’s amazing.

I don’t think anyone will be mad if he doesn’t play the entire doubleheader especially given the bullshit weather conditions today

  3. This is wonderful to hear – that looked scary in every regard and just want smiling Georgie. Hopefully this means a speedy recovery and no major issues

  4. That phrasing certainly implies he could be DH’ing before the series ends.

  5. Figured it wasn’t going to be anything major but smart to keep him out for a bit.

  6. Great news! Give him the whole day off. Hopefully the rest of the boys score early and often so Unc can put his feet up.

  7. Just curious – is there any sort of official concussion protocol in baseball? I get that it’s much more rare compared to hockey or football.

  8. Meh he will be fine.
Just a minor flesh wound. He was a hockey player!
    They are built tough!

  9. Ahh so we should expect him to pinch hit for someone in the 8th or later, got it!

  10. I know Kirk’s on the IL for 7 days, how’s Varsho, Gimenez and Santander doing? Getting healthy is way more important than any trade deadline acquisition imo.

  11. There’s protocols they must follow no matter how he feels. What those are is anyone’s guess.
