Mets interested in Doval.

Big league ready talent (or close to it) for them includes Acuna, Mauricio, Sproat, Gilbert, Tidwell, Clifford. Perhaps Carson Benge (last year's 1st rounder and taken a few spots after we took Tibbs).

I don't think Jonah Tong/Nolan Mclean would be available. Probably not Benge either.

  4. I know you still have two more years after this one, but when in doubt if someone is offering real value for a reliever, move them.

  5. Acuna, and maybe we leverage that to get Ronald Acuna whenever he reaches free agency.

  6. I will drive Doval to the Mets next series if I was picking up Mauricio…hell, I’ll even cover the gas cost.

  9. Steve Cohen is desperate for a trophy. Ask for Mauricio, Starling Marte, *and* Sproat. Knock out our needs all in one trade.

  15. he’s a stud . i wish he stayed here, he ‘s our best closer, but for reasons it seems that fans never gave him support after his amazing start wore off

    Hope he stays but more importantly hope he gets paid, he’s created some amazing moments for fans

  17. Even if the Giants were going all-in and had a wild card spot in hand, I’d be down.

    I love Doval, but I have more belief in the long-term stability of Randy and even Walker in late inning innings. Get some young talent for the rest of Doval’s arbitration time and then find a cheaper bullpen arm to fill in for the rest of the year. Or maybe use his open spot to let guys like Seymour, Whisenhunt, and Birdsong stay on the roster and mostly pitch out of the bullpen down the stretch.

    At any rate, they can pretty replicate Doval’s production this offseason either in-house or via free agency. If they can nab a potential bat or some legitimate prospect capital, I’m all for it

  23. Drew Gilbert, Jack Wenninger, and Luisangel Acuna for Doval would be a great trade for the Giants (and perfectly fair for the Mets).

  30. I hope posey has more courage than farham. If he has one thing that he needs to learn in the position, it’s that he has to know when to sell. And sell aggressively, even if it’s the unpopular decision. Everyone on the team is expendable for the right price. Make the most out of it and rebuild the farm team.
