DAY SIX: New Orleans #Saints Spencer Rattler Leads Situational Drills, Kellen Moore Missed No Detail

All right, welcome to your car. I’ll tell you everything you need to know about Saints practice day six. It’s a short walk to the car. It was also a short practice. It was more of a walkthrough than it was a practice. See, we’re already here. Wasn’t that nice? It was a short day. Short walk through for the team as well, but still some good work and and still some things that I would take away from it that I thought were really interesting. It was a Spencer Rattlerheavy day, but I don’t know that that’s going to factor into the rotation of quarterbacks for the remainder of the week. So, it’s probably more like a gearing up for is kind of how Kell Moore explained it. Gearing up for more of the uptempo kind of situational work that’s on the way. And so, easier to do it in a walkthrough first and then implement it on the field. But just the intentionality of Kell Moore to go first day of practice and his staff, right? It’s collaborative effort like he talked about, but to go first day of padded practice and then follow that up with a day of walk through basically everything but practice, right? So we have a a little bit of a lighter day and then to go from that into two days of padded practices. It makes sense, right? It’s a lot of the common sense stuff that we keep talked about with the way that he’s scheduled and all those things. But super interesting thing to me that I took away from it was a lot of end of half situation. So it could be like two-minute drill, 30 seconds, things like that. Trying to get a field goal late in the first half, all that kind of stuff. The thing that I really liked about it was when you were watching the first team in particular, it was still a really energetic walkthrough. Probably one of the more energetic walkthroughs that I’ve watched this team have. And I don’t just mean this year. I mean going back to previous years and watching practice and everything as well really loud communication good energy getting in and out of the huddle motion had full energy all this other stuff everything so what I would take away from it is that even though it was a walkthrough you could feel sort of the energy and I don’t know maybe even excitement kind of to practice and run a play I I don’t know just the vibes are still very very different and I thought that this was yet another one of the examples as to why so the Saints will be back two straight days of padded practices on Wednesday and Thursday early morning practices as we have seen here throughout. So, they’ll be right back at it. And of course, we’ll keep you up to date with everything over on Locked on Saints.
