By no means do I expect to make the play-in just expecting to be playing meaningful basketball past February into March is honestly a win in my book. What’s the consensus expectation for our core. I do want to see some sort of leap specifically from Sarr it doesn’t have to manifest in just scoring but I want to see him impose himself on the game more of his best 10 games of last year I think 9 of them were wins and a for a team that won only 16 games that speaks volumes.

*I meant to write I expect us to be in play for a play-in spot late into the season. Not expecting to make the play-in
I like our talent, I think we still a year away from the play in. However, I am not sure there are enough good teams in the east for the Wizards to not compete. They will win more games for sure.
We will not be lol we will be tanking again so we don’t lose our top 8 protected 1st round pick to the Knicks. Year 4 maybe
Meaningful basketball in February / March? That’s when everyone gets shut down so we start racking up losses to increase our chances at a top 3 pick next year
And just so you’re prepared – we’re not gonna be a play-in team next year either
We will suck but we will have fun doing so
I expect this team to be competing for a top 3 pick next year.
We need the top 8 pick that’s for damn sure. Must see improvement and growth individually. They play as a team just fine and it will show with efficiency. I think Sarr can be an absolute monster on defense. Bilal needs to be the guy! The captain! He does it on both ends and sets the tone. we truly have some classy Vets on the squad too. Remember how much Paul pierce meant to Wall and Beal? Beal was also practically unstoppable with Russ Westbrook. Kyshawn is a stud in the works also. Both sides of the ball. The championship can be made with team built studs that fit. I also think our rookie is a scoring machine but I don’t wanna jinx it 😅Tre Johnson ladies and gentleman!
Cooper Flagg is a bust!!!!!!!!!!! (Just kidding)
I’m expecting a lot a great highlights, and the youth movement may become overwhelming with so many young guys that need to develop, so we’ll be very bad, but fun to watch.
As a spurs fan who been keeping up with y’all for the past season or 2. Y’all will tank this season again but will make a huge jump within the next 2-3 years 100%
Lower your expectations.
The over/under is 20.5. Take the under.
One of these has to hit somehow
Nah. We’re still at the least a season and a half away. The next draft and off-season are pivotal imo
Reset those expectations, buddy. They’re keeping that lottery pick no matter what
0% chance we end up in the play in (which would mean we lose our pick). We may be even worse this year than last year tbh.
People expect some improvement from individual players, which is fine, but the roster is still decimated and built to lose.
If we are playing meaningful basketball once the NBA Cup is over with, somebody or multiple people in this organization are failing miserably at their jobs. This is the year in our path to the finals where we can perhaps try to tank in a more ethically palatable manner, but we still have to be losing at a respectable clip (lol 🥲) regardless
Meaning, Dawkins can hold out on dealing CJ/Middleton/Cam/etc. as close to the deadline as we can to maximize their trade value as much as possible, but once December and January rolls around, one of Middleton or McCollum has got to be moved if we are anywhere from 10-15 games within a .500 record; anytime we go on a 3 game winning streak, Keefe has got to come up with an otherwise inexplicable shuffling of our rotations, and Sarr/KG/Bub/Lal all need to aim for an increase in 3PA by a factor of 1.5 this year- absolutely everybody in the building from top to bottom has got to be on the same page and realize that until we add a Peterson/Dybantsa/Boozer/Nate Ament to the roster, playing winning basketball is cool and all, but actually winning games needs to be put on the back burner until no sooner than the 2026-27 season at the earliest…
