Notoriously clutch Andrew Vaughn hits a grand slam

  1. Good for him. He was never going to be this player with us. He got unlucky with the time he came up in the org.

  2. Yall can choose to be salty about this but I’m choosing happiness and peace for Vaughny. He was never gonna do this here and we know it. Besides, we all have a little bit of brewer fan in us if this is what they’ll do to the cubs.

  3. It is what is, plus we got a good future squad now who can actually score runs.

  4. I’m cherry picking stats here but…Andrew Vaughn has a higher WAR through 14 games with the Brewers than he had through 5 seasons with the White Sox.

  5. Of course he goes to the Brewers and starts mashing. This org is cursed i swear

  6. Milwaukee found a way to concentrate the results he had banked off of expected stats when batting with the Sox.

  7. Dude was one of the best clutch hitters for us over the last four years, unironically. Good for him.

It’s probably just that the fishing is that much better in Wisconsin

  8. His batting stance has changed, his resting stance places more weight on his back leg, and explodes through on the swing. So yes, one can say he wasn’t going to be successful here, but i would argue that is because the hitting coaches simply couldn’t tweak his mechanics.

  9. I was all in on keeping Av no matter what and just give him the resources to get him right. But then I read a report of him showing up late to the ballfield never putting in extra work and just going about doing the bare minimum. Good for him, maybe being traded is what he needed, but he was never going to succeed without putting in the work .

  10. Hey we can’t kill ourselves over him finally hitting well. We shall see if this keeps up in playoffs and beyond for him. He completely busted out of the Sox organization.

  11. His ops is 1.210 for the brewers. Best trade in all of baseball for a bum pitcher that didn’t want to go to the bullpen

  12. Alternate Title: Vaughn lights up mediocre(this season) reliever. I’m a very unhappy Cubs fan if you can’t tell.
