Phillies vs. White Sox Game Highlights (7/29/25) | MLB Highlights
Jesus Lizardo. He’s been kind of a shocking enigma for the Phillies these last few starts because of his struggles on the mound, particularly with runners on base. What Jesus has to do is, is to get that out of his mind that he’s tipping pitches, get it out of his mind that he struggles from the stretch which he has lately and just reboot everything and go back to where he was early in the season because early in the season, he was unreal. Jonathan Cannon going him out for his 16th start, 18th appearance overall. Er, a about 4.5 as you can see, will strike out a few guys, Trey Turner swings and hits a fly ball out in the deep left field , Michael, a Taylor back at the fence. He’ll make the catch on the warning track. Turner bidding for a leadoff home run on the first pitch, but he makes a long out and that’s up high ball four and maybe not. That was a strike, generous call for kyle Schwarber there, Bryce Harper comes to the plate there. It is with a fastball tipped into the, the first strikeout for Jonathan tonight. Two outs now and here’s J T to 11 on the ground to short, they’ll go the easy way to second and Canon out of the first to get this guy back on track. If we want to catch the Mets first pitch to Myra liked it a hard ground ball to third backed by Harper. So that’s going to be an error on Kemp. However, it’s a pick that most first facing would make. And I think Harper would tell you that a man aboard at first is my Roth is there. And Slater coming up out to center field, that’s well struck. Marsh is on the run. He got a good jump. He did get a good jump on that one did Marsh two on for miguel Mart-n out to right center field that is well struck again. Marsh is on the run. Marsh. What a sliding play. Brandon Marsh with an excellent jump and he made one heck of a play, Brandon Marsh. Wow, what a jump? What a slide and look at the underarm throw. Perfect to try. And he got, he’s got two great jumps off the Sliter and now this one off of Vargas and the bases are loaded for Coulson Montgomery. So an early visit, Kel doesn’t make many trips out to the mound in the first inning of game. Again, they’re keeping a watchful eye on, on to see if there is changing anything whatsoever. Ball center, not deep playable for Marsh. He’ll hang out it and he made all three outs in the, in the white Sox. Leave them loaded here in the first. We go to the second. Casts. The leadoff walk brings Brandon Marsh to the plate. Out to right field. Coming on is Slater and he dives and he can’t get it. It squirts off his glove and Castano is on his way to third and Marsh to second Marsh. He just, he did just miss it will take it. So 2nd and 3rd. Nobody out. And here is Max Kepler. That one is hit well out to center field. It’s going to be deep enough to score. Castanos. The catch is made by Robert. His throw goes to third. It’s a sacrifice fly for Kepler and the Phillies lead it one. Now we got Brandon Marsh on third with less than two outs. Two two is in the air to left center field. It’s not that deep. Better hurry. Taylor is under it. Tagging from third is Marsh. Taylor’s throw. Come to the plate with Marsh up and it gets by. It’s a sacrifice fly for it. Two, nothing fills. I tell you what though. That was Michael A Taylor did this perfectly got behind. It makes a perfect one hop throw to Teal and he just missed. It ain’t no way to describe it. Michael A Taylor with one out calls bunted toward third Otto charges takes it on the hop throws to first in time to get Michael a Taylor. That’s a heck of a play by Otto. Was that one of the highest bunch you’ve ever seen that wasn’t caught in the air. It was pretty high. A nice one hop and just gets a speedy Michael a Taylor. Excellent throw. It was Lizardo gets a 123 2nd inning picks up his first strikeout along the way. Trey Turner leads it off out to left center field on the run is Taylor. Taylor won’t get it. He’ll take it on a hop. Turner’s on his way to second and he will get there 5/100 career extra base hit for Trey. Here’s Kyle Schwarber who walked his first time up, Schwarber blasted it high and deep right field. Forget about it. Who that one’s gone way up onto the light landing in right field is kyle Schwarber with an absolute bomb to right field. It’s his 37th of the season and it’s four to nothing. Phillies at the top of the right field stands. Flirting with the concourse was kyle Schwarber 441 feet to right field. Congratulations to kyle. It’s the most home runs for a Phillies player before the first of August. There’s a base hit up the middle for J TJ T is aboard with a one out single marsh doubled his first time up pitches hit in the air. A deep right center field going back is Slater. It is two run home run for Marsh. It’s the second two run bomb of the inning and the Phillies lead it six. You have a heck of a game. Brandon Marsh so far here’s Robert O two all the way swing and a Miss and robert goes down on strikes. Luzardo makes it look pretty silly in that at bat. Here’s teal, that one’s up the first base side Harper has it flip underhand. Lazard dropped it. See there, Bryce looks to second , try to get the force and Lazard couldn’t find the bag. Luzardo. Look back. See, he looks back before the ball gets there and he just whiffed it. So runners at 1st and 2nd, here’s my check swing. I don’t think he went. I don’t either. I don’t think he does either. Oh, boy, that’s, that is a huge break. Yes, indeed. It is. So two away, here’s Slater ladder to left field. Kepler’s over makes the catch and the inning is over. Two strikes on Vargas. Here’s the pitch swing and a miss, but he has had a couple of strikeouts tonight where the swings that look just like that. Luzardo is not exactly racking up the strikeouts tonight, but, uh, he’s been super efficient. Popped up. First base side Harper’s there makes the catch. That’s an eight pitch inning for Jesus Lizardo who has not had an outing like this in quite some time. Great to see for the Bills to gone. Here’s Schwarber. That one is lined out to left center field. Taylor’s not going to get it. It’s going to take a one hop off the wall and Schwarber’s going to get to second base a stand up double his 16th double of the year and another well struck ball off the batter Kyle. So massively strong two out walk puts two on the JT Muto of the batter. Gilbert delivers called strike three down the pipe. He gets out of trouble. 6 to 0. Phillies, Michael A Taylor is zero for two. He a swing and a high fly ball pretty deep center but Marsh has room and Taylor flies out just a few steps shy of the warning track. Phillies go or the Phillies left hander goes 123 again as we’re through seven innings tonight, Jesus Lizardo in command here is Colson Montgomery. Another 22 chopper to the right side. Harper Harper will scoop it up and step on first. Sox do get a run. Caro comes home to score robert up to second but two out in the bottom of the ninth, Sosa four hits in the series. Sosa Cranks one deep to left start, two run homer and it’s 6 to 3. Absolutely buggy whipped. What looked to be a slider or cutter at the top of the strike zone out of here and the White Sox are indeed giving him that finish. The toman. Now will come on to pinch it for the White Sox out to center. Appropriate that Brandon Marsh is there to make the catch, maybe his easiest catch of the night and the ball game is over. The Phillies have even up the series as they win it tonight by a final score of 6 to 3.

SPOILER ALLERT!!!!
-Bullpen ERA is in the same galaxy that the Fantastic 4 sent Galactus.
The Shwar-Lord strikes, and he strikes hard
Marsh with a generational game
Obligatory "y U pUt sCoRe iN tHuMbNaIl" comment
marsh playing out of his mind this game
Glad they got that win back. You cant lose to clubs like this.
Offense still sucks
Marsh is so good in the out field
Good to see Luzardo looking like Luzardo again. Marsh must have had his Wheaties for breakfast.
Luzardo needed this performance. Go Phightins! #RingTheBell
That was a Swarbomb
Marsh legacy game
Several things:
1. Pay Kyle already. One Schwarbillion dollars, if that’s what it takes.
2. Make a damn trade. This bullpen is painful to watch (should have been a shutout, but Daniel Robert was the closer), and someone like Luis Robert Jr. or Steven Kwan wouldn’t hurt.
3. Luzardo needs to be more consistently like this, and the rest of the rotation needs to shake off the All-Star break rust.
4. Congratulations on beating the 2nd worst team in baseball. Had you been able to do this last night as well, you would be back in first place in the division. The Mets lost back-to-back games in San Diego, but they’re still up by half a game.
Come on boys, August is here time to start revving it up!!! LETS GO BRYCE, WE NEED 30 homers for you at the end of 162.
Robert serving late inning batting practice. When you’re up 6-0 on a team like this, shut them down.
Of course the bullpen manages to give up more runs in a couple of innings than the starting pitcher did in 7 😂
Ring The Bell..! 🔔
The Pope called on his imaginary friend for some help in the first game. But we are back to reality in game 2. Great game for Marsh! And…of course, another Schwarbomb!!!!!!! But I hope Dombrowski is gonna get us a real relief pitcher (or two) before the deadline because: A) We are not always going to have a 6 run lead in the 9th inning. B) Our relief pitchers suck.
Marsh is playing for his job. He knows they are looking at outfield replacements. He's playing to stay out there and I'm liking the extra hustle.
Phillies def. White Sox 6-3!!! ⚾🔔
At the Top of the 2nd Inning, Max Kepler #17 (LF) doing a Sacrifice Fly as Castellanos scores and Otto Kemp #4 (IF) doing a Sacrifice Fly as Marsh scores as well and at the Top of the 3rd Inning, Kyle Schwarber #12 (DH) belted a 441-ft. 2-Run Home Run shot (Schwar-BOMBS 💣💣) and Brandon Marsh #16 (OF) belted a 2-Run Home Run shot as well!!!! as the Phillies win in a 6-3 winning game victory over the Chicago White Sox!!!!! ⚾⚾⚾⚾⚾⚾🔔🔔🔔🔔🔔🔔

I think Harper will retired after this season. I’d hate to see him go but just a gut feeling.
That was the most balls caught by a center fielder during one 9-inning game in July since 1975!
Gotta love Our Fightin' Phils!! ⚾️⚾️⚾️😂
マーシュ今日は活躍しまくりで大変だったね。おつかれさま。
Damn, Marsh has really turned up his game lately! His performance tonight was nothing short of stellar. Way too much sloppy defense again, but our bats kept us alive. Tomorrow we win the series. Go, Phils!!
