REKAP⚾️: Chicago Cubs 9-3 Loss to Brewers. ‘I’m ticked off. You should be too’

Welcome into the recap of the Cubs 9 to3 loss to the Milwaukee Brewers at American Family Field in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on Tuesday evening. A pathetic performance. I’m David Kaplan. It’s brought to you by our great partners at Winrust. They are the exclusive home of Cubs checking. winrust.com/cubs or click the QR code on your screen. That was an abysmal performance. First of all, what great confidence in Colin Ray going to the bump. You’ve got about 40 hours left or so before the trade deadline. Guess what? You better get multiple starters because that dude’s not very good. Chris Flexon was DFA today to bring up some guy from Triple A, Gavin Hollowell. And now you got Imanaga going tomorrow. We’ll see if he’s better than he was against the White Socks on Friday when he was truly awful and gave up seven runs in basically three innings of work. He was terrible. So, we’ll find out. But tonight, it was an awful, awful performance. Let me give you some stats. Uh, it’s also brought to you by our great partners at Tasty Trade. Stocks, options, crypto, anything you want to trade, it is the best platform. tasty trade.com/offer to sign up tonight. Uh, let me get to Kyle Tucker. Kyle Tucker, I keep hearing we got to pay this guy. Don’t be cheap, Tom. You got to pay him $500 million. Jim Bowden’s on going, that dude’s going to get 600 million. Yeah. $600 million for that guy. Let me tell you what he’s hitting in the last 30 days since the 29th of June. 208 with a 286 slug. For those of you who don’t follow statistics, that sucks. That’s horrible. How many times has he come up and you’re like, weak ground out. He might get a little bloop single. He’ll line one in occasionally gets an extra base hit. When’s the last time that dude hit a monster hit in a big spot? I’m talking about like a game wreck. That’s what you get when you pay 500 million. Not what we’re watching from Kyle Tucker. So, wildly disappointed in his performance. In addition, if you look at what the Brewers did tonight, they get men at third, they come up with a sack fly three different times. The Cubs multiple opportunities with men at third and less than two outs. Danby Swanson, I was getting ready to say, “Boy, I’m gonna put this in the recap. An outstanding at bat, 10 pitches.” And you know what he did on the 10th pitch. I’m not exaggerating. From here to over here, that’s where the pitch was and he swung at it. Yeah. To strike out. It would have been ball four. It was an absolutely pathetic at bat at the end. The following off pitches, great. But guess what? When you strike out on a pitch that Jav Bayz wouldn’t have swung at that pitch, and we all know how horrible his discipline was at times, Dansby on that pitch, that was a joke. The bench isn’t good enough. The bullpen isn’t good enough. I’ve seen enough of Ryan Presley. I’ll be at the game tomorrow in Milwaukee and we’ll see if they could salvage one of the three and get back to one game out. But based on how they played the first two nights, why should we believe what this team is going to do against an amped up, very good Milwaukee Brewers team. Let’s go over the starting pitching matchup brought to you by our friends at Hooters, originalhooters.com, 11 Chicago area locations. Here’s the pitching matchup tonight. Colin Ray, four innings, eight hits, four runs there, earned, two Ks and a walk. And then they used a collection of relievers who were not good, especially Ryan Presley. Uh, and the Milwaukee Brewers, they used Quinn Prester, five and two/3 of eight hit, two-run there earn 3K, two walk, one home run baseball was a home run by Nicoer. Quickly, let’s look at the scoring. Cubs took the lead in the second on a Dansby Swanson force out. And then you have Seagler comes up with a sackfly, drives in a run. Andrew Vaughn sack fly in the third, drives in a run. Wilson Catrus doubles, drives in a run. And then when it’s five to two and they’re hanging in there, Andrew freaking Vaughn a laser beam. Laser beam grand slam home run. And then Durban a sacrifice fly. That’s all that team does is keep adding on. And right now they are a far superior team to the Chicago Cubs. Now brought to you by our great partners at Studio41 Home Design Showroom remodeling. Find a showroom near you at studio41.com. It’s our look ahead. I’m going to be there tomorrow. It’s the Cubs and the Brewers a day game and then you get a day off before the Orioles roll into town who are playing better baseball as of late. They’re not great, but tomorrow it’s a 110 first pitch and it is an awesome pitching matchup. It is Shota Imanaga for the Cubs and it is Freddy Peralta for the Milwaukee Brewers. So hopefully the studio 41 look ahead is a winning one. But right now, 93 pathetic performance. I’m ticked off. You should be too, Jed. You better get something done. Take that.

A PATHETIC performance by the Chicago Cubs tonight against the amped up & talented Milwaukee Brewers. Kap says there was zero confidence to begin with when Colin Rea took the mound. Then, he says people are out of their minds if they think Kyle Tucker deserves a 500 million dollar contract after seeing his recent performances. Last game of the series tomorrow and countdown until the mlb trade deadline. Jed – GET IT DONE.

Take That!

  1. Cubs will lose this division by at least 6 games regardless of what they do at the deadline. Extending Hoyer was a mistake. But that’s the Cubs. Pressly should be DFA’d. Swanson can’t deliver in big situations. Pitching is bad. A few pieces won’t fix that. Brewers pitching is far superior. I lay the blame at Hoyer’s feet.

  2. Can this city give us at least 1 good sports team!!!?????? All we got is High Crime, High Taxes, garbage sports teams!!!!!!! Really good food though.

  3. I Agree with the Past Comments! 1 thing We need to not Undervalue is How Significant of a Player and the Eye test Substantiates that is Nico Hoerner is the Best Player on the Cubs and Yet he Never gets Talked about Nearly Enough. He just Seems to Do it All he Can Hit, Throw, Run, his IQ is Off the Charts! Sure he Might not Always get you 20 Homeruns in Every Season but he Makes up for that Everywhere Else on the Field. They Better give him a New Contract. Best 2B in MLB. He Deserves another Gold Glove this Year! Glad he's Apart of the Cubbies and lets not Take him for Granted!!! Just as Consistent as they Come = Nico…..

  4. Tom Ricketts only wants 82 wins, they traded for Tucker so they could either go to the playoffs or get prospects for him. It’s over though! Let Jed do another rebuild.

  5. Oh so it’s Tuckers fault 😂.

Meanwhile Golden Boy PCA hot dogs and drops a routine fly and then punches a wall instead of making a throw, and drops another easy one a little later, 2 errors and at least 2 runs given up. But PCA can do no wrong. Obviously this is tuckers fault.

  6. The Cubs are not a WS caliber team. They are not better than Milwuakee. They are not better than Cincinnati. They would lose to both in a playoff series.

  7. Brewers have a better system of assessing and developing players. Much better organization. Tucker is not and never has been a $600M player. The Cubs MO the past 8 years has been absolutely no motivation to step up late in the season, especially in September. The Brewers will not look back.

  8. As a Brewers fan, Chicago is a good team, hell they were leading the division for most of the year. You guys like the long ball, Brewers just get hits. I believe the percentage is higher getting runs with getting hits, getting guys on base and then opportunities to score. Percentage is obviously multiplied when opponents create errors. I enjoy the rivalry with our friends to the south. 😁

  9. If we pay Tucker anything it's a waste at this point.. I'll take Nico Hoerner over Tucker any day. Pay Nico! How come guys go to the Brewers and get great, but if the same guys come to the Cubs they wilt away. This organization can't develop guys or train them. That's what you get when you're giving guaranteed contracts (JED) for mediocrity and achieving nothing in getting to a post season. It's the good ole boys network plain and simple. Rewarding your friends, keeping new ideas out.

  10. Brewers showing them they want to win more but the owners don't have to spend money because of Wrigley and the suckers are gonna keep on going to Wrigley The Cubs do what they do best is Choke The Cubs suck 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

  11. KAP: Cubs will get swept 🧹 back to Chicago tomorrow afternoon. Then we’ll see who else gets DFA’d as if bringing up people from AAA is the solution. Imanaga is going to wish he was drinking sake w the geisha girls back in Tokyo after he gets rocked again tomorrow. Brewers have his number. Also, you forgot to note the unusual 3 errors made by the Cubs tonight which indicates their weakness at 3rd, and their inability to handle the inter-division pressure. As usual you end the blog giving Jed walking orders to “get something done.” KAP, maybe he can click his ruby red slippers together three times and he can get another Cuas from Kansas. They gave that guy a contract extension? Now that’s pathetic.

  12. Cubs remind me of the Bears, The Bears and Cubs go all in on Offense and the Bears forget Offensive Line and the Cubs forget Pitching.

  13. The secret to a good team is youth and staying hungry with solid pitching. The Brewers discovered how to do it with a 100million payroll. Cubs,Dodgers,Yankees,SF, Mets ect buy their teams! If you dont love what the Brewers are doing right now, you dont respect baseball. Richest team wins is a thing of the past! Young controllable pitching is key!

  14. As a Brewers fan, I am sick of the whining…the Cubs are in Year 2 of your rebuild, and you are not simply buying players…the Cubs are years ahead of schedule, and the next few years are going to be a slugfest in the Central

  15. I'm truly baffled about what is going on with Suzuki…is he upset about the "deplorable" snub by the All Star selectors (it had to hurt!)?!..does he feel under appreciated by the Cubs fans who go overboard with their "love" of PCA…chanting his "initials" everytime he comes up?!.where's the
"Seiya! Seiya!…" or "Suuuuuu" like "Looooo" Pinella…"Noooo" Nootbar etc.. I feel the fans should show him more apppreciation…at least as much as they show Imanaga!…whatever it is Suzuki needs a "boost"!…maybe the fans can provide it!!
