Me to everyone talking about jamo now when they doubted him before

  1. People more questioned jamo the person not as much jamo the talent. The talent was never really a question

  2. I really, really doubt thats a real Dan Campbell quote

Edit: seems like it might be true. Though apparently it was a text, so who knows. Kinda wild imo

  3. Don’t worry. It’s never too late, the lions and the NFL will always take anyone’s money.

  4. To the fans who kept the faith, stay home you can’t afford these seats

  5. The folks that wanted him out of town after the start of year 2 and said he would never cut in in the town sure have gone back into their holes.

  6. I think we all want to believe. I’m just trying to keep myself rooted in reality based on our experiences thus far.

  7. This is dumb.

There are plenty of people who went way too far with the Jamo hate, but we’re not going to act like there weren’t legitimate reasons to have doubts.

He was drafted with a torn ACL, which always had the risk of being a disaster, and when he got on the field late in his rookie year, he wasn’t good. Oh well, rookie year was always considered a wash. Then he gets suspended for the first 6 games of his sophomore season, reduced to 4, for gambling. Then when he does get back on the field, he struggles with drops and finishes the season with 2 games with 3+ receptions. At the end of year 2, with 18 career games, Jamo had 25 catches for 395 yards and 3 TDs, plus 69 rushing yards and 1 TD.

That is not good. Yes, the context of his career matters and there were obvious reasons to be hopeful about him, but there were obvious reasons to have doubts too. It doesn’t mean everybody that was worried hated Jamo or doesn’t deserve to root for him now. I’m so tired of people on Reddit trying to gatekeep fandom because they think their way of being a fan is the right one.

  8. I love Jamo, he’s my favorite WR. That being said, you’re lying to yourselves if you are saying he didn’t do a lot of body catches. Now, that can absolutely and hopefully improve but yes – Go watch any Lions game last year and at least one of Jamo’s catches is a chest catch. You can love a player and also know when to admit they aren’t doing things the right way, but I wouldn’t write him off solely for that reason.

  9. I guess I’m more welcoming for the bandwagon than Campbell. The more the merrier.

  10. Oh fuck off! Dude was doing shit that was not helping the team. As fans, we have a duty to call out that shit to get him right, so that we can be at where we are now.

  11. People forget that Jamo was a consensus top 3 pick who was considered a generational prospect prior to the ACL injury.

  12. I saw this and got excited that he was extended, but nope just a random post. Weird timing of this post.

  13. I was glazing Jamo like all hell in his rookie year lol

I love athleticism. I love college production. He had both. I knew if any staff could take him, it was ours. Was very happy to see that trade up.
