I can’t tell you how disappointed I’m going to be when Steven Kwan signs a long term contract with another team for a yearly value that would still leave this team spending less than two thirds of the MLB even when added.
This team made the ALCS last year and followed it up by selling Naylor and Giminez, letting Boyd walk for $14M a year despite him wanting to be here, not investing any of those savings back into the club, barely cracking $100M in cap, and then potentially selling the young, controllable, all star, perennial gold glove LFer. It’s like they determined this was a down year before it even happened, which made it happen, and then said they needed to sell because it was a down year. THEY WERE JUST IN THE ALCS!!!!!
And the reports of the Clase thing forcing them to be sellers is BS. They were already trying to sell Clase. They are just making an excuse so that selling seems out of their control when they actually made it happen. Wasting Jose. Trading good players for prospects that may or may not work out, but even if they do work out trade them for more prospects before they reach their peak. Infuriating.
I will not even bother if they flip Kwan. I’m sick of it. Doesn’t even matter if it’s the right thing to do.

We have had plenty of chances to let go of guys like DeLauter, Espino, Valera, Arias, Rocchio, to make playoff runs and never do it!

My financial contributions of tickets and simple viewership makes up an almost negligible amount of money in the ownership’s pocket, but I will no longer even give them that. It isn’t worth investing time or energy in this team to be constantly disappointed and observe and ownership that frankly doesnt give a shit.
