14. Seems like a lot for a 30 year old catcher with a below average bat. I guess the 4 years of control are nice but that’s two controllable arms that we kinda needed beyond this year. Not a fan right now.

18. You guys are getting a super solid backup in Freddy, I’m gonna miss him so much. Phenomenal catch and throw ability and game calling ability. Real decent hitter as well. This was just yesterday, he called a 10 inning shutout when we had a bullpen game.

19. Both Padres & Royals fanbases seem upset by this trade. I say, screw the haters and skeptics. This is an immediate upgrade from Maldonado/Diaz.

    Considering the desperation for a catcher, don’t act shocked and surprised when teams don’t hand one over without a hefty price.

20. Try to cope with this move…letting Kolek go so that he can be replaced with JP Sears.

    Fermin will be our main catcher for the foreseeable future

    Yu making his return and adding Mason Miller allows for Bergert to be let go.

    Now waiting for a LF move…

    Kyle Hart and Waldron are clearly worse than Bergert and Kolek. Gotta think that King is all good and just needs game reps like Darvish before locking in again.
