Yankees won’t give up top prospect Spencer Jones for anybody but Paul Skenes

  1. I’m not willing to give up the 20 dollar bill in my pocket for anything short of a Porsche

  2. *If* we’re moving Skenes, Duran is a much better bat to get. Duran and Kyle Harrison would be fun

  3. lol — a 24 year old guy with a 31% strikeout rate in the minors is *exactly* what this team needs

  4. That’s hilarious. He’s currently sitting at a 36% K rate split between AA and AAA. Sure, 29 HRs in 70 games is insane, but Major League pitching would absolutely dominate this kid. He wouldn’t see a pitch to hit out of the park; slider after slider after slider.

I don’t blame a team for being high on their prospects; we tend to do the exact same thing with ours. I wouldn’t be necessarily thrilled, however, if we swapped Bednar for Jones 1v1, hearing that they will only trade him for Skenes is a wild overvaluation.

  5. I’m not sure why anyone would trade the pirates a top prospect. The Bucs are trying to cut money because they’re losing money again this year. Other teams are aware of this.

  6. Yankees prospects are historically overrated. Let some other sucker trade with them.

  7. Maybe Dominguez, Jones, Lombard, Schmidt, Schlittler, Riggio and Rafael Flores

  8. The funniest thing yet. Jones has a career 31.5% strike out rate. I wish he was a pitcher…

  9. While I wouldn’t give up Spencer Jones for a lot of players skenes has started the all star game 2 times in his second season. Jones is currently still a prospect who is raking AAA and has 29 he so far this season. I would say he is worth quite a bit just not sure skenes and him are on same level since skenes has proven it in the bigs.
