Baltimore Ravens ROOKIE is TOO GOOD to Keep Off the Field!

When you think about Ravens receivers, he’ll go Z Flowers, Rashad Baitman, DeAndre Hopkins, TZ Walker been doing his thing. But there’s apparently a receiver who’s been quietly making a whole lot of noise for the Baltimore Ravens in training camp, and that’s Leonte Westeron. My guy Samoku, who has his own YouTube channel. I’ll link it down below in the description, but he is plugged in with the Baltimore Ravens. And he said this. He said, “Secret that the Ravens probably don’t want out there yet. Leonte Wester may be the steel of the draft.” and he said yes that’s including Mike Green. So Sam Njoku that that’s that’s some real high praise for our guy Leonte West who is a Florida Ravens. So shout out to him. But Leonte Wester, it’s interesting with him because whenever somebody ask me about Leonte West, what do you envision his role to be? What do you think he’s gonna do for the Baltimore Ravens this year? How do you think he’s going to impact this offense? And I say that I expect his impact on the offense to be minimal. But that’s nothing against him. It’s only simply because of everything and everybody that the Baltimore Ravens have ahead of him on the depth chart on the pecking order of this offense. It’s Lamar Jackson, Derrick Henry, Justice Hill, Pat Ricard, there’s Rashad Baitman, Zay Flowers, DeAndre Hopkins, there’s Isaiah likely, Mark Andrews. So it’s a lot. It’s a whole lot. So I expected with Leonte Wester his biggest impact to be on special teams. But get this, somebody thought the same thing and I’m sure a lot of people do too. I’m literally only here for sports. He responded to my guy Sam Njoku and he said, “Yeah, we’ve been looking for a reliable returner since Devin Duvenet had his huge fall off. I don’t think Duven ever had a falloff at returner.” But anyway, Santa Joker responded. He said, “Yes, but he’s turning heads at receiver.” So, we ain’t even talking about special. He said Leonte West is turning heads at the wide receiver position. That’s exciting. That’s exciting. There was even somebody that said, “Oh no, look at us as Ravens fans. We hyping up another uh Ravens receiver in training camp. Hyping up another receiver during the offseason.” But see, things are different now. That’s what we used to do. Yeah. We used to get all excited when we hear about a receiver who been dominating in training camp. receiver who been doing his thing in training camp and going off but then when it would get to the field it be like oh oh well this is what we were all hyped about I don’t know about this one but these are a different set of Baltimore Ravens now these are Ravens that can actually develop they can draft and develop their own wide receivers and they’ve shown you that and they can do it with first round picks we see it with Rashad Baitman we see it with Z Flowers but they can also do it with fourth round picks fifth round picks we TZ Walker been doing his thing, but Tylen Wallace, he’s been proving that he could do his thing as well. But let’s also see what my guy KMAX Sports had to say because he chimed in on what Samjoku had to say as well. He said the following. He said, “I made it a point to ask Coach Lewis about Leonte Wester on Monday. He said, “Watching his receiving work, you can tell he’s still working on facing NFL competition, but the special teams work and the athletic upside leave a lot of room for optimism.” So, basically what he’s saying like, “Hey, he it’s going to be a challenge going up against NFL DBs. It’s going to be different than it was in college, but he said when you watch him, you can see that, hey, that boy got something special.” But let’s read in detail what he said. Uh he said, “We’ve seen wide receiver Lejante West get a lot of work in the special teams game. Just from the receiving standpoint, what have you seen in his development so far?” That’s what my guy KMAX Sports uh Kevin McNellis asked uh wide receiver coach Lewis. He said he has great movement skills, great quickness, and able to separate and uncover. As a receiver, I don’t care how big you are, how short you are, how fast you are. Receivers are about uncovering and separating from different people. And he has a knack for being able to do that. Hey, you know, as as a receiver, that’s what it’s all about. Separating, separating, getting away from them cornerbacks, finding open space, getting open space, making space for yourself. And like he said, it it don’t matter how big or small you are. With receiver, it don’t matter how slow or fast you are. Obviously, those things help you being taller, bigger, it can help with your catch radius. You being faster, it can help give you even more separate. But separation is the name of the game. It really is. But continuing, uh, it says that he’s a smart kid. He does a good job in the playbook. He understands what we’re asking him to do and he’s able to go out and put that on tape each and every practice. We are looking forward to it as we continue to go and see it in game situations as we move forward. Preseason couldn’t come fast enough for Leonte Wester. We are a little less than a week away from him making his NFL debut, not only on special teams, but it’s preseason, so he should have a lot of opportunity to work on offense as well. I’m very, very excited to see Leonte Wester. I’m very, very excited to see guys like Tez Walker. I’m very, very excited to see Dayton Wade. I’m very very excited to see receivers who in this Ravens offense, they may not get a lot of opportunities only because of everything in front of them, but in preeason, they have a chance to really stamp who they are on this team, to stamp a spot on this team because Ravens can’t keep everybody. It’s a crazy game. It’s a crazy business. The roster is stacked. Even at the receiver position, it is stacked. You still got Anthony Miller who’s there as well, a veteran. There’s Keith Kirkwood who’s there as well, another veteran. So, it’s a lot of competition at the receiver spots for the Ravens this year. And this is it’s a beautiful thing and competition going to bring out the best in all of them, but preseason is going to be of the essence. But when we speak about Leonte Wester, he really has a chance to make his mark. You know what’s crazy? Timing is everything. That part of the video that you just finished watching about Leonte Wester, that was all before practice even happened today. But now it’s after and this came out today about that Florida Raven. It said from Jonah Schaefer. He said, “Lejonte West has done a heck of a job with the Ravens return duties per Chris Horton.” So Ravens special teams coach, hey, that boy Leonte West special, he been doing his thing. But it also said he dropped the punt early in practice. Okay. Okay. And he punished himself with push-ups. So it’s like all right okay Leonte we got to hold on to that ball we know you got it though it’s it’s okay you going to work on it but says he also had a nice catch in traffic versus Robert Longer beam so Leonte West he’s making the plays both ways on special teams but on offense too and that’s exactly what we like to hear is going to if if he keeps this up he is going to force the Baltimore Ravens to get him on the field. Somebody else who’s a sneaky problem is our guy Dean Wade. And this is what Jess Ree had to say about him and Lamar Jackson having a connection today. Said Lamar Jackson just made arguably his best throw of camp. Best throw of camp. But who was it to? Shout out to DW. We ain’t talking about Arthur. He said dropping over Dayton Way shoulder for a 30yard gain. Wade had to step on Chado Wuzier a few plays later. So it wasn’t even a one-off. They could have been a one-off and that would have been fine, but it wasn’t because a few plays later, Lamar Jackson hit Dayton Wade again along the sideline. So that boy Lamar, he doing what he been doing, but Dayton Wade in the mix, too. Remember that conversation we had about all the receivers that the Baltimore Raven cuz when you think about Ravens rece what anybody from the outside looking in thinks about Ravens receivers. Yeah. Zay Flowers, Shawn Baitman, DeAndre Hopkins, and if they know a little something something, they may say TZ Walker. They may mention Tylen Wallace, but we got some sleepers, man. We got some guys, man. We really, really do. Talked about Leonte Wester, Dayton Waiters with like we got some guys that can get it done. And it’s such a beautiful feeling, man. My favorite part of the videos is now where we get to hear from y’all. If you would like to take part in it, send me an email at [email protected]. Or you can go to patreon.com/engravenvids if you would like to become a team keep patron and show a little extra love and support to the channel. And first question came from a team keep patron my guy Omar who has shown a lot of extra love and support to the channel. So I appreciate you my friend. He said the following. The Ravens ran 11 personnel which features one running back and one tight end on the lower end of the league in 2024. Even though it was still a noticeable jump from 2023. In contrast, they were near the top of the NFL in using 12 personnel, which features one running back and two tight ends. Often with Isaiah likely lining up in a slot or out wide. Now, with DeAndre Hopkins in the mix and TZ Walker developing, the Ravens have a ton of options to get creative with their alignments. That’s real. They really do. A ton of options. Like literally a ton of options. We set, man. He said, uh, so my question is, do you think the Ravens gonna slide Hawkins into the role that Isaiah likely was playing when he was split out and have TZ step in as the third wide receiver until Isaiah likely returns? I appreciate your insight as always, my brother. Thank you, my friend. I think uh that’s a really good question. Um, a lot of that depends on uh TZ Walker’s continued development. We have been hearing about him non-stop this entire offseason. It’s a beautiful thing. preseason will help his case. It can help his case a lot if he continues with everything like we’ve been hearing about. Cooper Rush is gonna be out there a lot playing in the preseason. So, Tez Walker going to have his opportunities with Cooper Rush. Uh like we talked about earlier, Leonte Wester, just really all the the receivers that are sort of like second and third string receivers for the Baltimore Ravens. But specifically about Tez Walker, I think so much depends on how he continues to look for the Baltimore Ravens and not just in the game, but in practice as well. Um, DeAndre Hopkins. Yeah, I think he could help fill that role, too. I think it’s just going to be by committee. It’s not going to be a certain guy like, “Oh, it’s definitely going to be DeAndre Hopkins for sure. It’s definitely going to be TZ Walker for sure.” It’s going to be by committee cuz like you said, we have a ton of options. So, Ravens can line it up however they want to. They got so many different combinations of all these different receivers that we got. Uh, all these different tight end. Well, we going to be down a tight end for a little bit, but um, they got a lot of people that can fill his role. Next question came from my guy Gabe. He said engraven my favorite Ravens reporter. How are you doing, man? I don’t know. We a reporter. We just We just a fan. We just a fan. That’s it. But anyway, I I’m doing good. I appreciate you. He said, “Hope all is well with you and the family.” Quick yet compelling question about Lamar Jackson. One thing I have been realizing about the media is how they constantly move the goal post for him. And I genuinely believe that after we take home the Lombardi this year, the Lamar Jackson haters will find something else to talk about. That’s true. That’s very, very true. whenever the Baltimore Ravens do win the Super Bowl with Lamar Jackson at quarterback. Hopefully, this is the year. But yeah, it’s going to be something else. There it’s always going to be something. Nothing that Lamar Jackson does will ever be good enough for a lot of people in the media. And that’s real. Anyway, he said, “My question is, what do you think it will be? And why do you think that is?” I think it’s because Lamar Jackson, the way that he came into the game, the way that he came into the NFL, he’s just so unconventional. He He doesn’t look like a a typical standard NFL quarterback like a lot of people would like them to look. He doesn’t talk like a lot of people would love for him to talk. He’s very very different. He does things his way, but he gets it done. He wins. He’s the best quarterback in the game, but he’s not like how a lot of people would like a quarterback to be. So, they like, “Oh, you know what? No, we don’t like this guy. what what can we find on him where we just got to bring him down for some reason. So it and that’s that’s how it’s always going to be. What will it be uh once Lamar Jackson does win a Super Bowl with the Ravens? Um why didn’t he win? He he should have been 1-1. Why did it take him so long to get this? That that’s what it would be. And then they would they would also find something else too cuz it would always be something. Oh man. Next question came from my guy Chef Life family. Hey, I hope all is good with you. I ain’t heard from you in a little minute. He said, “What’s up? Hope all is well, my friend.” Not really a question but a suspicion. So, I saw Chuck Clark’s uh resurface post about leaving the Ravens and signing with the Steelers. So many Ravens players seem like they’re getting the band back together going to other teams. We got the LA Ravens, the Chargers, the Pittsburgh Ravens, the Steelers. I would say the Browns, but I’m not going to even put a curse on us like that. Lol. But what do you think teams are doing grabbing up all these ex- Ravens players? As always, love to you and the family. Good brother. Many more blessings to you in 2025. Appreciate you, my friend. I think it’s just part of the business. It’s just part of the business. Um, but when you look at a team like uh the Steelers for example, they got Deshawn Elliott, they got Patrick Queen, they got Malik Harrison, they got Chuck Clark. I know there’s somebody that I’m missing. Oh, they got Jeremiah Moon, too. I still think there’s somebody that I’m missing. But either way, um, Steelers go against the Ravens at least two times a year, sometimes three. But there’s that rivalry, but there’s also that respect. Uh, the Pittsburgh Steelers see how the Ravens do things. Ravens see how the Pittsburgh Steelers do things. And there’s that respect for how they operate, how they play on that football field and they like, “Hey, if you could do your thing over there with the Ravens, then you could do your thing over here with the Steelers as well.” I just think it’s more of a mutual respect type of thing. They see you have success in the Ravens defense. Uh they like, “You know what? Yeah, you could definitely have some success over here, too.” Next question came from my guy Jaylen. He said, “Blast from the past.” He said, “What’s up, Raven? I’m a lifelong Ravens fan. 25 years old, by the way. I have a brother that is nine years older uh than me who we always talked about, Ed and Ray. But being an out of market fan from California, I didn’t get to watch many Ravens games growing up. So even though I can name most Ravens from 2006 and up, I don’t really have an exact idea how good some of those guys were back then. I thought it’d be fun to occasionally send in older guys and have you analyze them as players and maybe give them a modern player comparison. Oh, for for for Ray Lewis and Ed Reid, I don’t think we really got one. Especially Ed Reid, but even Ray Lewis, too. I know Rocoan Smith gets compared to him a lot. Um, but Ray Lewis is just different, man. Uh, but oh, let me let me continue your question first before I get started. He said, “I seen a post about Dennis Pitter today, and I feel like he is the perfect person to start with. I appreciate your channel. You’re providing a platform that makes this possible.” No, I appreciate that, Jaylen. Thank you, man. Um, but Dennis Pitter. Okay, so he wasn’t even talking about he wasn’t even trying to get started on Ray Los A Reed. He was trying to get started with Dennis Pitter. Who would be a good comparison for Dennis Pitter in this day and age? Um I don’t know, man, because the G I can’t say Mark Andrews. I think Mark Andrews is better than Dennis Pitter and he’s a little more more explosive than Dennis Pitter. Um Dennis Pitter, it’s crazy that that wasn’t even that long ago. Dennis Pitter was um when did they draft him? like 2010 I think or 200 I I forgot but um he was obviously on uh the the Ravens 2012 Super Bowl team uh him and Ed Dixon. Ed Dixon was actually drafted before him and Ed Dixon he actually started off a little better than uh Dennis Pitter but then they end up flip-flopping and Dennis Pitter took over but then he had the hip problems and oh man it was so sad when we would get those updates on Dennis Pitter that oh his hip went out. I remember um it was one training camp where they said he caught a pass and I think and he got tackled or he went down or something and his hip went out and then he was done then he ended up retired. It was so crazy man. It was so it’s so sad too man. But um I can’t think of a comparison right now because the tight ends in today’s game they’re so much faster. They they are so much faster than they were just what was that 13 14 years ago. Um they’re so much faster. They’re so much quicker. um they they more like tall big receivers now more than anything. Um and Dennis Pitter in that age of the NFL, that was sort of the ending. That was sort of the transition period between the older school version of tight ends and this new school version of tight ends. Um so I I can’t really think of a comparison for Dennis Pitt off the top of my head. Um, but going back to the Ray Lewis and Ed Reid, uh, there’s nobody like Ed Reid at all. I know Earl Thomas, he was getting some comparisons to him because Earl Thomas, he was like that, man. He really was. But Ed Reed is just Ed Reed. There’s nobody like him at all. That man was just he was amazing. I I say it all the time like if you watch highlights of Ed Reed, it’s amazing. But if you watch a full game, just watch a full Ravens game of Eric Reed and just watching him everywhere, he is amazing, man. He was the best ever. Cuz again, highlights are just highlights. They show all the best stuff, which is cool, but if you watch a full game, that will help you appreciate Ed Reed that and Ray Lewis, too, for sure. U and you can tell that they were just different with their film study, with their technique, how they analyze the game, how they process stuff, their football smarts, their IQ was through the roof. Um, and their ability, like we just talking about stuff that that goes on up here, but then their ability, it all stuff, it translated to the field with 52 and 20. That’s why they were the best ever, man. They they really were. They were the best ever. They changed the game. Their impact on the game was just crazy. And they will forever be legends. Whenever you lose a player of Isaiah likely’s magnitude on his Baltimore Ravens offense, you think about how it has a negative impact on the team. But how can the Ravens overcome this? What did the Ravens already do this off season to overcome Isaiah likely’s injury? We talk about that in this video right here. So check it out.

Baltimore Ravens rookie LaJohntay Wester has been turning heads at Training Camp! If he keeps this up, Ravens will have no choice but to put him on the football field! Lamar Jackson also connected with WR Dayton Wade a few times in today’s practice!

  1. HEY. Ingraven that's good to know , because in Cordell Woodland gave his report , he said he needed to see more out of LaJohntay . We'll good for him . I'm rooting for him .
    .

  2. Im not going to go that for because he isn't going to see the field. He will be on PR, which is great because ST was atrocious last year. Allow him to get work in the pre season and go from there. He may get an opportunity in year 4.

  3. Wester is another ZAY FLOWERS. HE AIN'T GOING NO WHERE. BATEMAN and FLOWERS, have TOO MUCH HISTORY, with injuries, to LET HIM GO. Watched Wester BALL OUT, at COLORADO. HORN is balling for Carolina. Wester will make the roster. TOO MUCH LIKE FLOWERS.
