Do Minnesota Vikings have a TOP 5 defense?!

Purple Daily is daily Vikings entertainment. We just want the Vikings to win a Super Bowl before we die. I will ride with this group. Seriously, man. Please. And away we go. All right. One week into training camp. The show is Purple Access. Jud and Chip. And uh we both been out there. Chip Scoggins quite a bit. TCO Performance Center. Uh full pads on Monday, full pads on Wednesday. We can certainly get to how the defense looked on Wednesday. It was absolutely dominant. Um, but first off, in the days that you’ve attended, what have been your takeaways from Vikings training camp thus far? Um, so I was there the first full week, haven’t been out this week when the defense dominated uh to the degree that it has. I mean, first week is, as uh Okonnell says, acclamation period. So, um, you know, no full pads. Um the thing things that jumped out to me and we could we’ll talk about uh McCarthy. Um but just non McCarthy stuff. Uh I think Dallas Turner looks different. I think he’s going to bring an element to the defense um with that pass rush. I do think when the offensive line is healthy, they look bigger and more physical. I mean Donovan Jackson is huge. Will Fry is huge. Um, so I think that group needs to get healthy and and they’ll be fine. Um, I think Jordan Addison has looked really good. I feel like he has a connection and a chemistry with with McCarthy that’s I don’t know if it’s, you know, more advanced than uh Jefferson. Might be now with Jefferson going to be sidelineed probably for most of camp. Um, but I it really stuck out to me the first week how much uh those two are kind of in sync, McCarthy and Addison that jumped out. Um, and this just looks like a good team. That that’s my overall thing is like there’s a lot of talent on this team. They look like a good team. Yeah. Yeah. In fact, let’s with that, let’s get to and it is sort of a yearly story because Brian Flores pulls no punches defensively and throws the kitchen sink at the offense, which I’m sure Kevin Oonnell doesn’t love. But let’s get to that, too. Let’s get to the defensive side of this of the ball because as bad as the offense looked in the two-minute drill at the end of Monday’s practice, Chipper, and then yesterday, the defense was absolutely dominant. Uh when I go through the mental checklist of guys that are having, you know, just outstanding camps, I go, Byron Murphy Jr. has been like he looks better than he did last year and last year he looked far superior to the way he looked two or a year before that. Um uh Jonathan Grard looks absolutely fantastic. He you can tell he took the loss to the Rams personally. like he’s he was good, but he looks like he has come back um even more determined than he was a year ago. Absolutely great. Uh Van Ginkle’s looked good. Dallas Turner, to your point, and and it’s very very clear, too, and this is why you can’t really say a guy’s a bust necessarily one year in, it’s very clear that Dallas Turner uh he not only learned a lot last year, but he also like learned how how to be a pro, as certain people have put it. So, this defense, I don’t know how good they’re going to be. Um, and and yes, the offense has struggled. Uh, you know, it doesn’t help that Justin Jefferson’s not practicing. Yeah. But all of that being said, Chip, right now, this defense, if it’s always been dominant at the start of camp, Yeah. unless this was recency bias, I feel like it’s more dominant right now than I’ve ever seen it. For sure. And and let’s go to Granard. And I I was thinking about this, Jud. The very first practice of training camp, you know how they start and they’re doing uh special teams and Granard and Van Ginkle are off to the side working on their their pass rusher moves with just the the the little dummy there. And it’s just those two, right, and a and a position coach. But it’s those two. But Gernard, I it jumped out to me and I I made a mental note of this to maybe circle back with him at some point. He was and I can’t say I paid close attention to him at practice last year along these lines, but I found him um really being a leader like he was talking up guys in special teams. Uh there was a you know I don’t know if he’s a rookie or you know down the depth chart linebacker that made a play in special teams and he like ran over there, pat him on the back, was calling out his name. I was like, man, this is a guy who really is elevating on first day of p, you know, and being kind of a leader. And you’re right, uh, the um, more is expected. Is that that was his thing, right? But he didn’t. More is required, I think. More is required. More is acquired, which is what he tweeted right after the Rams loss. And now there’s t-shirts. Yes. And I I think that was more than just words to him. I think he came back and um he’s absolutely dominating training camp. Dallas Turner and and Brian Flores mentioned this that it it’s all young players after their first year, but you know, Dallas Turner, we’re talking about him in the context of his improvement. He changed his body. I mean, he realized he had to get bigger and you can I mean, it’s just obvious. I mean, the guy came back a lot bigger than he was last year. Van Ginkle has a pick six off the screen pass in the first practice. I mean, there’s just a lot and Byron Murphy Jr., We talked about him last week on the play that he made uh over the middle on the deflection first practice indoors against Justin Jefferson. How much improvement he’s made. There’s just a lot of highlevel talent on defense that Brian Flores is I think using creatively. We’re seeing uh the three kind of the trio with Granar Van Genko and Dallas Turner more. I think you’re going to see that. Um, you’re seeing the we had questions and not that there’s not question marks still about depth at quarterback, but some of the guys that you’re, you know, I think they’re wanting to see step forward, um, are making some plays. I mean, they’re getting interceptions, you know, in the team drills. So, um, and you’re right. I mean, we could talk about it in the context of McCarthy, but I as you know, I talked to u I did a a um one-on-one with Kevin O’Connell last week for I wanted to do something on just getting ready for a training camp. How do you put a training camp together, all the practices, kind of what do you want to get out of it, the whole schedule? And I thought he had some interesting comments regarding McCarthy and Flores and kind of the the balancing act between getting the defense ready and allowing McCarthy’s development to kind of take its natural course. I I thought that was pretty interesting. But Flores is like, I’m bringing everything. Day one, all these exotic things. And so, um, I don’t see why they can’t be a top five defense, Jud. Oh, I agree completely. I agree completely. And look, they they were, uh, top five. I think they were fifth in scoring defense last season. And the thing that you’re seeing in camp too, Chipper, is the push now that the line is getting is so much more substantive. you know, the push that that line with uh with Javvon Hargrave, Jonathan Allenau, and then the outside guys, like that was sort of the final piece to the puzzle. The other impressive thing, too, is it’s not just the first team defense. Yeah. Dwight McGloth, the UDFA from 2024, who made the 53 and is with the second team still, has three interceptions in three days. Like the past three days, he’s picked off passes. They picked off every quarterback. They did not discriminate. Max Bromer, Brett Ripen, uh Sam Howell, JJ McCarthy, they picked off every quarterback on Wednesday and just the way that they are to to use a football term, just the way they are flowing to the ball and the understanding. And now back to my point was with that first, you know, with that first team, you could always sort of cite that the weakness was well, you really don’t have the depth up front. Harrison Phillips is a good player, but he doesn’t really get a push. So, there’s not like pressure there. He’s just a good player. But now, you’ve got a push from up front. You’ve got depth there. Yeah, I’m I’m I’m with you. I think that this if this isn’t one of the best defenses in the entire league, like in several metrics, it doesn’t have to be yards because I think yards is is tiresome, but in several important metrics, I will be very surprised. Yeah, I I pay so little attention to yards. I don’t I don’t want to call it a meaningless stat, but it’s points. It’s takeaways. Those are the, you know, you can yards are so they can be so hidden because you have a big lead and guys are throwing a lot and it’s, you know, um, but I think they’ll, you know, I think turnovers will be another big thing for them. I think the pressure that they’ll get from their edges will create, you know, rush throws and opportunities there. Um, we see them working on the punch up by the way like that. We were watching it. um the outside backers because that’s kind of where we were standing on the sideline indoor. They’re working on the punch out drill. These guys punch so hard. I was like, I hope could you imagine if they miss like they’re just like throwing haymakers at the ball to knock it out. I mean, Dallas Turner and Jonathan Gennard, these are not just like little subtle slaps at the ball. I mean, they’re hurt. Oh my gosh. It’s like I would die if they missed. I was Oh, you would. Yeah. No, you would. You’re not kidding. Kill over. I just like you just be like that’s it Chip Scoggins. Next man up 1970 to 2025. We’ll see you later. That’s right. Um but yeah, you know Jonathan All and Hargrave when you see them in there like okay. Yeah, this that’s what your interior needs to look like and they’re getting that push and that’s only going to help. And you could tell like Okonnell’s reaction afterward he’s like oh yeah this is this is this is different. That’s what I’m curious about after. So, the defense definitely won in the first full pad of practice, Chipper, on Monday. Yeah. And the two-minute drill at the end was was uh essentially three and out first team and that was one v one, three and out second team and that was 2v2. Yesterday was uh ass whooping. Like yesterday was start to finish the defense and I’m curious now. So, they’re off today. They’re back at practice on Friday. I I expect them to be back in pads on Friday or Saturday at the very least. He Okonnell told me six uh six full pads in eight days. Okay. In eight practices. So they did Monday full pads, Tuesday uh shorts and shells, Wednesday full pads. So I bet they’re full pads tomorrow obviously. So they should be probably. But my but my question is this. On the off day, what do you because like Okonnell told you and he’s right, you know, they want to prepare McCarthy for the season. Yeah. Yeah. So, like how how do you how do you get Brian Flores to at least play nice? Yeah. Just a little bit because well and and I asked McCarthy at one point. I I said, “Are any of the” And it was sort of a rhetorical question, but I said, “Are are these are these looks do you have any idea what’s coming?” Like, yeah. And and he’s and he said, “No.” And this goes back to what Kirk said a few years back, which is, “I’m seeing looks I’ll never see.” Yeah. So, so like, so like, but but that was Kirk Cousins who was going into whatever it was at the time, his year. This is JJ McCarthy going into his first year of starter. So, there is a little bit of a tight rope to walk here about valuable experience because what we saw yesterday at some points was just flexing. Like they were choreographing, they were we can do this if we want to. They were doing celebrations like like the defense math picks off a pass. Granted, not from McCarthy, but he returns the ball for a in air quotes pick six. He runs across the field and on the sideline hands it to Justin Jefferson who of course is not practicing. Yeah. Like they were literally Yeah. Well, can I read these quotes? I had my the story called up the column from that I wrote from Okonnell which I thought I thought was interesting. So, um he was talking about uh he says at the be at the start of every camp like his first question is what does this team need? like he said and he basically in a roundabout way he said this is an interesting team because we have veterans but we also have and he said we have a new quarterback and here was his quote part the first part of he said obviously JJ is a huge part of that we want to push him we want to test him we don’t want him to be comfortable through the whole month of August and then just think hey we’re going to show up to an NFL game and everything’s going to be great but we also don’t want him to be uncomfortable for the whole month and then let me get down to this uh second part where two weeks before camp starts uh him and Flores uh sit down and they map out every practice and what it’s going to look like, what they’re going to go over each period, you know, type thing. But here here’s what he said. Um it’s that balance of getting our defense ready to play how they’re going to play and then allowing some ability for JD to progress into football 501. Luckily, he’s smart. He can handle it. But I’ve told our staff and really our organization, I’m constantly going to be making tweaks to the daily field of practices. You don’t always have to understand what I’m doing, but just know that the basis is about two things. First, our football team, but second, our quarterback. So, it’s interesting that it’s like, okay, Flores, you do what you got to do to get your defense ready, but also we have to get uh JJ ready and comfortable and ready for the season. So, make him uncomfortable, but not so uncomfortable that August is a a nightmare. So, I don’t know. This will be a I bet in the in the coaches rooms today when it’s an off day, it’s probably a pretty interesting conversation about where they’re at, what they need, and kind of how they uh put together the next few days of practice. Absolutely. Because there there was I I mean I could I could go back to five six plays just that pop into my head about what this defense was doing to to not just McCarthy, the offensive line. So Darasaw comes back which is great news, right? Yeah. Darasaw with a big brace now on his left knee where he tore the ACL and MCL comes back into team practice for the first time which is to me incredibly quick. That’s great news. So now Fry is back. So now now you’ve got for your first practice of camp, you got your first team line, the remade first team line, and they’re literally putting pressures on. They’re blitzing. There was one chip, I’m not joking, by I mean, this looked like a college play because it looked like uh a a men against boys type of play. But Byron Murphy Jr. blitzes. Okay, McCarthy’s dropping back the pass and as he’s going to make the throw, Murphy is just right there and just goes bang. Like, it looked like he was a defensive end. But, I mean, this was it was incredible to watch, but at the same time, you’re like, I don’t know this is helping McCarthy one bit. And that’s and that’s the quote that you read from Okonnell that’s so uh instructive, which is you do have to make sure that McCarthy is prepared and he’s a confident kid. So, I don’t think he’s he’s going to uh uh get up in the fetal position and start crying, but I also think that it’s very important that when you go into Chicago, he sort of has an idea of what he can and can’t do as opposed to going against this defense. Well, and and and uh Cousins mentioned this like Flo’s defense is so unconventional that he I think uh Cousins said it’s going to be nice to go against the more traditional things we’re going to see during the season. Like he said, you may only, if I remember that quote correctly from Cous, he said, we may only see one or two defenses that try to do some of these things that that Florence is doing. So, yep. You know, it’s it’s great for McCarthy’s development, but also, um, you know, he’s going to be tested in ways that probably other quarterbacks are not. For one, you’re you’re facing a really good defense in terms just overall talent. I mean, you got two Pro Bowl pass rushers, you got, you know, so that that in itself, um, you have a young quarterback going against one of the best defenses in the NFL every day. And then on top of that, a, you know, a mad scientist coordinator who has guys moving all over and doing these crazy things. So, it’s it’s u I think it only is going to benefit him. It may look rough early on. And the other thing is, and I think there is something to when linemen say, “Hey, we need time on task to develop chemistry and all those things.” is they just haven’t been together this first line. No, because of injuries. And so that’s going to take some time to get some cohesion going. I mean, obviously, I think when they’re healthy and they’ve had reps together, they’re going to be really good, but it probably is going to look a little rough right now while they’re trying to sort this out. Absolutely. And in their defense, too, you know, from a run schematic standpoint, um, the p, you know, the pass in practice is pretty much the pass. You’re not supposed to hit McCarthy, but the plays sort of unfold like the plays unfold without tackling being involved necessarily, but the run, you know, the run is just very, what’s the word I’m looking for? Performative. Like, like you get the ball, you run, you get jabbed and hit a little bit, but it’s not like a real run. So, like the run game is not the run game is more of a practice thing. Yeah. And the pass plays in practice are more of a game speed thing. And so, yeah, it’s not worth be it’s not worth becoming concerned about, but it’s just a reminder. And look, McCarthy had a really nice first week. This week’s been rougher, but it’s just a reminder of this is going to be a process, too. Like, if you expect him to step in and look like a polished product against the Bears, you’re kidding yourself. Yeah. I want to read this quote that he gave uh yesterday, was it yesterday after practice? um which I think’s something we talked about after OTAAS about the layer passes, the sideline passes, the ones that um Yes. and he talked about having that year off and the touch, right? We know he can really wind up and throw it fast. I mean, he’s got great velocity, but here’s what he said afterwards. He said, “Not having those reps last year, that’s something you miss out on when you take a sub substantial amount of time off from throwing the football. You’ve got to find that touch again. There are a lot of throws in OTAAS where I felt like could have been a better outcome if I had that touch. Just learning from failures and trying to get better. So clearly he’s that’s that’s you can do all the studying you want when you’re injured and you can be in the film rooms and you can do all those things and if you have a strong arm that’s going to come back like right away when you start throwing it. But Right. Right. It’s the touch that he I think he’s trying to figure out now in real speed against a really good defense. Yes. and and he he also talked about after that then too the the fact that he is trying to use the touch more so cuz the the question or the answer that you just read was a question asked by our friend Kevin Seaffort and so I said are you purposely trying to make like if you think that you can drill the ball in are you now not doing that which I thought he was in the first week of camp I thought he was making some passes that were college type because he’s got that strong arm and he said yeah he said I’ve started to try to work on like I know I know I could throw the ball hard there, but now I’m practicing purposely doing it differently and and he gave a good explanation. He said it’s it’s a little bit of a slippery slope because it’s a competitive practice. So like you don’t want to screw around and and take things for granted, but there’s definitely a layered system to to it. And Chip, you know, this is where, and fortunately they got some good work together in the summer or spring and summer, but this is where Justin Jefferson not practicing does hurt because I can’t help but think that if Justin Jefferson was at practice, I’m not saying that the defense does not look good. I still think they look great, but you know, it’s Addison, Naylor, and then like Lucky Jackson and you know, guys. So, so you’re not really you’re you’re taking out the flavor of him working with arguably the best receiver in the entire league. And that’s not a positive. Well, no, it it’s it’s you wonder how differently that would function now that you still got to give him time. It sounds like that was the biggest issue or one of the biggest issues yesterday is like the pass rusher was on top of him before he could do anything. But yeah, and and not only just in practice, but just yes, they worked out together in the offseason, so they got the chemistry, you know, started building it there. But yeah, these are, you know, important practices to kind of figure those things out, figure out the touch, figure out, you know, how to um Jefferson’s come out of his breaks, all those things. So, not saying it’s, you know, devastating, you know, I don’t think it’s but it’s it’s it’s um but it it is interesting that on top of everything else, you know, trying to I I can’t imagine all the things going through McCarthy’s head where he’s talking about, you know, working on this and working on that and absorbing the the scheme and the playbook and yes, Flores is sending everything in the kitchen sink. Oh, it’s just Yeah, every day is probably uh feels like a week to him right now. I do think a good part of this uh and he also talked about this, McCarthy did in his press conference on Wednesday, is the fact that, and you know what, it’s funny. We’ve had this conversation before with QBs. It’s the fact that he said Okonnell told him half the battle or more is just getting to the line of scrimmage because of, you know, the play call in the huddle, controlling things, looking at the checks, looking at what you must do. Like to your point, the amount of things a quarterback has to go through before he ever touches the football is mind-numbing. You know, it’s funny. Um, my wife and I were watching the uh the quarterback series on Netflix that we talked about a few weeks ago or a month ago, whatever. And they have one episode where all three of them were going they’re like spitting out of play and they’re like, “Okay, you got to think about this. Think about that.” They’re just kind of cutting back from Cousins to Burrows to to golf and they’re like, “And you got to check the safety and you got to do this and you got to do this and you and my wife was like um she said, “Man, those guys have to be smart.” like yeah this is you know I think this first time it really she really understood like all the different things that are happen within a 25 second period um that they have to be responsible for and think of and and yeah so it’s um yeah I think that’s where I think Okonnell really helps the quarterback through this process you know, and yes, I think it’ll be invaluable for for McCarthy to have him as his play caller, as his head coach, as you know, just a guy who understands the chaos that happens on every play. So, yeah. Um, but yeah, I’m uh the other thing O’Connell said is like you know this we have acclamation period and then we have uh full pad six of eight days and then we’re going to be into the preseason first preseason week and we’re going to try to treat that like a a regular week to kind of show guys the routine and then you’re into joint practices and then all of a sudden the season there you said it feels long but it’s not like they have a you know this thing goes fast. Oh, no. To them, it’s quick. It’s segmented. It’s segmented, but but you know, we think about, oh, this, you know, training camp lasts forever. And for coaches, like, no, it doesn’t. Like, we that’s how we are. That’s for us. But maybe the players too, but Okonnell’s like, this is broken up. Like, it’s it’s not. And you can’t you can’t afford to like waste time because um so it it’s you could you know I sat with him for like 20 minutes 25 minutes and I could just tell the whole overarching thing on his mind was quarterback I’ve got a month so much he said and one one quarterback one quarter not Sam Howell not Brett Ripen as his quote said first our team second our quarterback. Yeah. Yes. Yep. Yep. Uh it it might be football season, but my dear friend Chips Gogggins, it is also summertime and that means we are in the heart of barbecue season. And that’s why I want to talk to you about Stoke Barbecq Pellets, a company based and operated right here in our fine state. Been talking to you for a long time now about the barbecue caddy. If you’re a grill master, the barbecue caddy is a must-have. Stoke solid oak firewood. Uh perfect for your pizza oven, solo stoves, and tabletop fireplace. You can find their products at Fratalon’s hardware and garden stores. Also, check out stokedbq.com to find their deal locator, but start your search for Stoked right here in the heart of barbecue season at Fredaloney’s hardware and garden stores. The joint practices I think are going to be easily the most important part of training campree for the for the offense. Yes. Uh I think McCarthy is going going to play it sounds like in that first preseason game a little bit probably a series or two depending on how long that goes and then he won’t play in the second and third. Uh and you know quite frankly I don’t know that’s good for him to I guess as you know knock he stays healthy. It’s good for him to see game action, but I think those Patriots and going against Mike Vrabel’s team who it’s going to be well coached, I think those are going to be the real indicator of where things stand much more so than than like trying to deduce in the first two padded practices if Brian Flores has completely screwed up poor JJ’s mind. Yeah. And because he’s going to get far more work in those practices than he does in a preseason game. he’s gonna just see and even though he’s not gonna get tackled and sacked, they’re gonna go at him full speed up until that point until they can hit him. So, um, and you know, those things are really competitive. Sometimes they get out, you know, I don’t think they’ll they they might, you know, tipper flared occasionally, but, um, they’ve done a good job of kind of reigning that stuff in last few years. That poor guy from the Titans when when Raes brought his Titans team here that starter was it Ti Tart? He got in a he got thrown out, right? He got in a scuffle and so they made him keep practicing. Is that what it was? Okay. Yeah. With like the backups. So like you don’t want to get in a fight. Okonnell is Okonnell is major no no on fight. That’s the thing. I mean they talk about it uh beforehand. Don’t do it. Um but he’s you’re right Jud. he’s going to get so many valuable uh so much valuable work in in th those uh two practices. So, um so that’ll be really good um for him to go against a defense that’s not Flores’s defense and kind of see a different look. Last thing, I got a crazy question for you, but you’ve seen this guy play a lot more than me and I want your opinion. And by the way, I’m not suggesting he be the backup. I’m just saying I’m just suggesting one thing here. Is there any chance Max Bromer is the second best QB behind McCarthy in training camp? Could be. I mean, Brett Ripen’s a reliable veteran. Yeah, but you know, Max and Max did throw a pick on on Wednesday, but I watch Max decision making. Yeah, he’s and how he plays the part of quarterback. And I’m not saying he’s the most talented kid in the world, but it is there a chance he is the second best quarterback? Well, yeah. And I would be surprised. I’d be stunned if he’s not on the practice squad. Um, yeah, he that’s the thing that’s the thing we did not know about him. I didn’t know anything about him when he came to the golfers, but it became a perfectly clear early on that this guy is a sponge. He is so smart. He works so hard at the film room. Like he basically was in the in the facility for 12 hours a day. I mean, he would be in the uh the film room at 5 in the morning. Like he I think he took a class. He was doing grad school stuff. I don’t really know what we He came here to play football and yeah, he was PhD in football. Nothing wrong with that. He was a PhD in football and you could just tell it. I mean, Okonnell and the coaches Westfield, they’ve all said like, “Man, this guy’s smart.” Like, you could tell he knows what he’s doing. Um, so could he be the second best? Maybe in time. Um, but I that backup quarterback, I don’t know that he’s on the roster. Oh, no, no, no, no. I’m not saying No, no. I’m not back. No, I’m just asking among those three is he which if that’s the case, you need to go get another backup QB, but no, I’m just asking if he could be the second best. He’s I think he’s a practice squad guy. He’s for sure a practice squad. I’m just saying he seems to process things pretty dogone well and you know, and he’s still going against looks that are difficult. So I Yeah. No, I am not in again in no way am I saying he should be No, no, I know you were saying or on the 53. No. What? Yeah, I’m just saying he’s he’s probably their number he’s for sure on practice squad, but I I was just saying in general as Yeah, I was thinking about, you know, where they’re at. It’s like I don’t know how it’s going to shake out, Jud, but I I don’t think the number two’s on this roster right now. Yeah, that’s very possible. And depending on how things go, like you could just say be because again to your point, this team, and we we’ve talked about this before, this team’s too good to say, well, it didn’t work out at quarterback. Yeah. Or our quarterback got hurt. Yeah. Or our quarterback got hurt. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Like you can’t say that. This defense, I mean, hell, the offense I I think in time it’s going to be absolutely fine. Yeah. So, all right, sir. Great stuff. I will will I see you this weekend? Um, I’m going to be off this weekend. I’m going out of town, so I’ll be out there next week. Oh, Chips. I I will I rarely go to a cabin in the lake in Minnesota, but I’m going this weekend. You’ve read Royce’s column about this, right? Years ago, his A1 column. His A1. Don’t do it. Don’t do it. How it just means that you got to sit in traffic on a Friday for Not to go mow your lawn like Bracken used to. And then you just get in your car and drive back 3 hours and you’re miserable and you have a pain in the ass. Don’t do it. All right, I’ll see you next week, Chipper. All right.

  1. Are the Vikings waiting for teams to make their Final Cut downs and go get another QB or maybe pick swap for one? It sounds like besides Max we are done if either other had to go in. If Howell can’t make decisions it’s Darnold all over again and Kirk at times! We saw what happens when the pressure is up. Sounds like the rookie should stay put and in the KOC QB camp. Maybe get Trey Lance or a veteran.

  2. Chip, you really need rearrange your camera and/or background to reduce the glare on your glasses. It's distracting and takes away from your insightful takes and comments.

  3. As frustrating that rams loss was now looking back was probably a good thing a loss like that really put a glare at the teams biggest flaws I think they are hungrier now that the expectations have been set with what that defense did last year and this should be the most motivated defense flores has had in purple.

  4. Ancient historian Josephus said what made the Romans effective was that their training was like bloodless battles and their battles were nothing more than bloody drills. So I think our young quarterback will grow a lot going against Bryan Flores defense. 18:06
