White Sox vs. Angels Game Highlights (8/1/25) | MLB Highlights

trade deadline has come and gone. The core of the Angels are sticking together. You look at the AL wild card standings. They have to jump five teams. I get it. You’re four and a half back. There’s a lot of baseball left. So, here’s Tyler Anderson. 17 straight starts without a W. Not entirely his fault. Last time went four and two/3, but pitch well. Here’s the 2-2. And there’s a swing and a miss. And down on that cutter goes Tacman. struck him out swinging and that’s the game’s first out. Drives that one center field. Joe Wadell on his horse at the track at the wall and makes the catch. Well, that’s better for Joe Wadell. Great grab. Well, I just kept drifting. That ball carried pretty good. Warm afternoon. It’s still pretty warm right now. On the mound for the White Sox. Shane Smith 86 and 2/3. Had RA a little bit elevated. And downstairs ball four lead off walk. But there’s a base hit right through the hole. First and third. Love to see that good contact once again for Shaun Oell. He’s just a really solid hitter. Well, the bases are loaded for Joe Adel as the Angels look to put up an early crooked number and take the lead. Snap throw to third and he got him. Edgar Caro shows off the arm. So many things to like about Edgar Carroll. And that’s a play that you probably put on at third base with Josh Rojos. Sha on the move. Carol going down to second. And it’s a good throw, but safe as Taylor Ward. Ball was dropped. Oh, that’s a break there. Surprised that Carol didn’t try to take the lead runner. Shell at third. 3-2 swing and a miss. Strike three. Chased a slider. Bases are loaded once again for Logan O’H. pitch swinging a ground ball to third picked up by Rojos and he throws across to Vargas and somehow some way Shane Smith gets out of it. Andrew Benendi starts off this second. Benendi deep to right field. Back he goes. Get out. A Bennetty bomb. Just what the doctor ordered after that long inning for Ben and Tendy. His 14th of the season and the Socks take a one- nothing lead here in the second. Another look at it right here. Anderson tries to throw that cutter 84 miles an hour and stayed on the inner third and Benendi squared it up. A little abbreviated Carlton Fist trying to keep that baby fair. Lenin Sosa. He’s coming off a huge offensive series against the Phillies during which he went seven for nine. This one is sent a long way to left field. Ward looking up and it is not coming back. Lenin Sosa. A solo shot here in this second inning for Sosa. His 11th of the season. And the Socks take a two nothing lead here in Los Angeles. White Sox playing some long ball off of Tyler Anderson. Anderson tried to sneak that cutter on the inner third. That’s really his go-to pitch against righties. He’ll throw that change up away. You see where Hoppy setting up in and he just beats him to the spot. Hit hard and that one to the gap in right center field. Vargas will take the big turn. Thought about it, but will go back to the bag. A single to start this fourth inning. Now Ben Tendy, who gave the Socks the lead with a leadoff home run in the second. intended to hold another one and it goes off the wall and right. Campero cannot make the catch and the Socks will have runners at second and third to start this fourth inning. Gets a little dicey down in that right field corner, that low wall. You see a lot of outfielders get to that wall, but it’s about chest high. Robert Jr. high in the air. to left center. Adele comes in tagging and scoring is Miguel Vargas. A sackfly RBI for La Ponta and the Socks take a three nothing lead. A productive out. And I love it too. A lot of the White Socks players on the top step of the dugout. A productive out. The batter is Rojos and he hits a chopper fair off the glove of Shaell and his throw is going to be late to first. He kicked into foul territory. Anderson was over to cover, but Rojos beat it. This should be an error. Chowwell was in the spot. Some early traffic on the bases here. No outs, two on. That one’s sawed off. Neto going back. Oh, that’s a great read. It’s good play. Makes it look easy. Next delivery and Vargas pops one in the air into shallow right field. Campero is under. He’ll make the catch on that one. and fires the ball to third. No advancement. Doesn’t hit very deep in right. This is popped in the air on the third base side. Let’s see who’s going to make the call. It will be Monata still on the dirt. Third baseman catches that pop up and that is how the inning will end. So they leave a couple on. They had runners at first and second, no outs. Anderson pitching out of the trouble. Ran Heo has his fourth stolen base of the season. He’s at second with one away. And Camper will be the next batter. Swinging at that a drive right center field hit well stares it down it’s three way gone Gustavo Capo two run home run like wow that went 43 to 38 438 ft well he got his pitch worked the count and that is some serious damage that’s 109 mph that’s the swing you want on a 200 count two down nobody aboard sixth inning Montgomery will bat sends a Highf fly ball out into deep center field. Joe Adele’s going to watch it fly away. He’s done it again. Coulson Montgomery with his sixth of the year and it’s four to two. And Montgomery has been doing it against lefties as well as righties. And if he’s your everyday future shortstop or corner third baseman, he’s proving that you don’t have to worry about who’s starting that day. Just insert him in the lineup. Halo is going to that bullpen. Newly acquired from the Nationals. Andrew Sha and he gets a popup. Meadow going back. Ward coming in. He calls for it. Slides, takes a divot, makes the catch. Going to have to replace that divot. Jay says, “Well done.” That come a long way to run that one down too. Especially with Neto is so aggressive going back on the baseball. They have a pair of runners on. That’s a big time pop up. Will that stay in play? Look at Chaffin hustling over. Oh, against the netting. That’s a great play. He makes the catch. Ground ball hit to Neto. Has it has time throw to first will get Ben attendy and the inning is over. 6-3 ground out. Neto four for five this season with the bases loaded including a grand slam. Makes contact right there. Oh tagging and that’s going to drive in a run and it’s four to three. So two down. Nolan Showell at the plate and this one is lined into right field. Toffman comes up throwing to second. The run will come in. They get the runner at third. And no, the run does not score. Home play umpire. John Tempain is waving off the run as the runner got thrown out at third. You can’t be out of third base on that one. Luis Garcia in his third trip with the Angels. He is back. smacks it into center field and Laantera. A good start. A chance for the Socks to get another tack on. See if Robert wants to run. There goes Robert Jr. the throw down. And no way. You’re not getting him with that kind of jump. Stolen base here in the eighth inning. And a terrific job by Sosa, too. Pitch to Sosa is whacked out into right. A base hit. Robert around third’s going to score. And it’s five to three. Well, that was a beautiful swing by Sosa. It will be Rojos, Tauman, and Carol for the White Socks in the night. Big fly to center field. Back is Adele at the wall. It is gone. Josh Rojos goes big fly here in Anaheim. His second of the season. And the Socks add another making it six to three here in the ninth. Steven Wilson came on in the eighth. A one, two, three inning. One, two, and he struck him out. Swinging on another sweeper. Payoff for Wilson. Caught him looking. Strike three. Boy, what a great pitch. Three and two. Throw a 3-2 breaking ball. Two balls, two strikes. Wilson blew it by him and that’s ball game. What a start to this West Coast road trip. The Socks with a 6-3 win in the opener against the Angels.

  1. Andrew Vaughn is batting .385 and 24 RBI in 57 at bats for the Brewers. The white sox should be a farm team for the Brewers😮 Thanks for Andrew Vaughn Idiots😂

  2. Hmm, we didn’t win.🤔
It depends on what the Angel’s management sets as their ultimate goal, but the teams at the top of the division are consistently strong, so unless they make drastic reforms, there’s no hope…💦
    Campero homers 🎉
    Go Angels !!!
