  1. Dansby would have turned a double play in the 8th to save this game and no one would have mentioned it

Think about this game the next time you’re mad at his plate appearances

  2. My cope of the week: the teams who end up getting a first round bye in the playoffs haven’t done super well with the new format.

  3. Have the lead most of the game and then shit the bed. An absolutely infuriating loss.

  4. 1-4 on offense and the bullpen should be ashamed of themselves. On Ryno day no less

  5. Not sure if I’ve been more disappointed in a game this season, all things considered. Ugh.

  6. More pissed at the offense than the bullpen rn. The beginning of the lineup is our biggest issue which is absurd to say

  7. Blowing a game to a team that traded away half their team is quite the thing.

  8. That’s up there for worst loss of the year. Let’s have it right, we are playing a team who have just had a huge fire sale, no bullpen, bad SP and we take a one run loss.

Thats not dooming to say that is fucking abysmal. Call a spade a spade.

    Fucking ten LOB!!!!

  9. Ah yes known shutdown closer Akin with strikeouts to our 2 all stars for his first save

  10. Just a complete waste of what should have been a win, if I’m Boyd I’m fuming

  11. Do not pay Kyle Tucker a fucking cent above 180 million. This team may be 15+ games above 500 but they have been playing horrible 500 baseball for 2 months now. They better wake the fuck up because if they don’t, this is a wild card exit team. There is nothing I see on this roster that tells me they could beat the brewers or any other sorry ass franchise.

  12. Games that are choked away like this really hurt. And they wasted a great outing by Boyd.

  13. Their guy gets his meat ball pitch and hits it out to center and our guys get plenty of them and we’re foul tipping them off the catcher

  14. Okay, I am going to go ten toes down here.

We have a very good baseball team this year. One of the best. Will we win the world series? Who knows. But I don’t think there is a single great baseball team, and the only team in the entire league with a better record than us (the Brewers) did nothing at the trade deadline and is even more pieced together than we are.

We are 15-11 since July first. We have, to our potential, played like shit since then. But we are 15-11. This team is slump averse, not been swept in a proper series all year, and despite some poor memories we’ve had a lot of comebacks.

Reminder: PCA leads all players in WAR in the NL, by whatever metric you like. I see people calling him “PCAss” you aren’t a Cubs fan if you do, you’re a troll. PCA could go 0-30 with 30 Ks in the next 3 ABs and this would be a success for him. Since July 1st he has an OPS of about 950 btw, his home run rate is down but actually he’s been more consistent overall. He’s 23 btw and is probably one of the top 25 players at the plate, a top 5 baserunner, and a top 5 defender in all of baseball. Treasure him or get lost.

I don’t know if we will be swept or not in the first round, but I do know that there are people in those game threads who are toxic and honestly should just be banned. I will be the first to crucify our fearless owner if Tuck isn’t resigned, but I saw people bitching about Jed in the topic when he added bullpen arms at the deadline during a game where old bullpen arms blew it.

like if you need that much negativity in your life go be a white sox fan.

  15. Absolute choke job but Castro was a bright spot. He was super fun to watch and played pretty damn well

  16. Mid-bottom of the order delivers *yet again*

Our top of the order has some *serious* issues. I honestly don’t even know what to do with Tucker. Dude just needs to figure it out. Suzuki is doing everything in his power to tank his career year (3 walks today is forgivable). But seeing Tuck, Busch, and PCA fail like they did today just blows.

Another game of could’ve-should’ve. We could’ve had 3 more dingers in the first couple innings had it not been for the wind. Thielbar should’ve controlled his -2 pitch a helluva lot better…

    Fucking baseball, man.

  17. The “strength of this team” aka the top of the order has been abysmal for a while now.

  18. My wife made me go outside to do yard work after the stretch. I blame her for this.

  19. April-May i thought this team was finally different, im done believing

  20. bUt wE hAvE tHe SeCoNd BeSt ReCoRd iN bAsEbAlL!

    – All these jamokes that can’t recognize the huge downward trajectory of this team.

  21. I hope the Ricketts family just fucks off, they do just enough to keep this team looking good enough to sell tickets but will do the bare minimum to make them competitive. How do we not have more money to spend for the on field product?

  22. Man except for Nico, these guys can’t hit the broad side of a barn right now.

  23. Seyia with 80 RBIs a day after the All Star break and not making it to 100 was not on my bingo card

  24. Not much to say about this.. it’s on the struggling offense, even with Thielbar’s struggle today. Boyd did great. A reliever can’t be expected to be perfect. Those things happen. The offense is the problem. Hopefully our top of the order will wake up.

  25. Top of the order was 1-14. That 4 pitch walk from Braiser to lead that inning off was deflating
