Kansas City Royals vs Toronto Blue Jays – FULL GAME HIGHLIGHTS | August 2, 2025 MLB Season
Jonathan India once again is the leadoff man for the Royals. Went one for five with a double in last night’s game. This one is underway. Shers are ahead 0 and2 and a ground ball to third to second one. Can they turn two on wit? They cannot. Fly ball to center field. Straw back into the shadows, but he’s got room to make the catch. Two down. Boy, Whit looks like he wants to go. He is not running. And now Garcia hits one to right center. Straw is tracking this one and he’ll make the catch. Well lined to left field, but it is caught by Adam Frasier. He seemed to do better than righties. [Applause] Fly ball to right field and the catch is made by when he is cutting the ball in and keeping you honest. Everything comes from that same slot. Rounded out to short Bobby Wit Jr. and Cameron sets down the Blue Jay upright with that target higher. But right now he’s seeing the target right there and often times in the game today you’re not seeing that. Popped up for Ty France in foul territory. Or coaches can’t identify it. back down. Popped up and an easy play for Ernie Clement at third. The single and a double lines this ball to left center field, but it is going to be caught. So, the Blue Jays have had good contact. A lot of Blue Jay fans about this team. This is a good team. They’re playing their best baseball of the season right now. Barger lines one to shallow center, but that’ll be caught. jammed him and a ground ball to the right side. The flip to Cameron covering and he just was still on. I walked out of the cornfield. You’re not blinking at all. Down the left field line. This is a long run for Lopeido. It’ll drop in fair and that is going to be a double for Isbel. Batter’s a good time to try. There he goes. The throw down by Heinaman is not in time. Good call, Dan. Swinging a miss. Got him to chase down for out number two. Line drive to right field and it will be caught by Addison Barger. Feels comfortable against lefties. He gets a bunt down. Cameron looks to third. There’s nobody there. And they just do get the out at first. as Loper feed to center field. It’s dropping and it’s down for a base hit and two runs will come in to score and with the bobble Sch Snider is into second. The Blue Jays their first two runs of the night. But not to take anything away from the quality of the at bat from Schneider. It was a great AB to get that far as now Clement lifts a fly ball to center for the second out two. That’s right. Think more aggressive side of things. That was Vlatty’s voice by the way. And a base hit into right field for Bette will bring Schneider home with the third run of the inning. Now Barger and this is popped up shallow left field. Three Royals are there in the third baseman Franco. Mikel Garcia leading off the fourth for the Royals and hits a fly ball to deep left field but it is going to be caught on the trap by Joey Loido for the first down. Boom. Third inning here you are fourth inning. Swing and a miss on an elevated fast ball. Two down. And a broken bat soft liner to tie France at first will retire the side. How every team has like a hand signal when you get a hit. I don’t think he knew what he was supposed to do when he got there. His first hit as a Blue Jays as now Miles Straw flies out to center. There’s a lot to learn. Took that foul ball off the mask an inning earlier. Sanchez will swing at the first pitch and pop it up on the infield. Bobby Whit Jr. the catch. Two down. Miners each of the last two years against lefties then righties. Chops this one back to the mound. Cameron will make the play to retire Lopeido and the Blue Jays as they leave the France. Hit a board. Still three nothing. Change up and a two hopper to second. How about that sequence curve ball then the fast ball for the foul back. Well, the way that he looks. This one sent to deep left center field and it’s going to bounce on the track. Lita will get it back in. It’ll be a double for Isbel. 41 years old. Nick Loftton pinch hitting. It’s a high chopper out towards the mound. Sherzer’s got it. Loftton is retired. 3-2 again. High in the air to left center. Playable. Straw is there. And that runner is stranded. The umpire. Schneider pops it up and in shallow center field. The catch made by Isbel. He’s picked up in trades. Gave up multiple runs last night to the Marlins who came back from a 9 to4 deficit. And eventually as Clement flies out, two down, five in the bottom of the ninth, bounced out to short. Witz got it and throws out Guerrero. And that’s kind of how far to your right it’s hit. High drive to left center field. Lerido tracking it. Makes the catch on the track. Two down. toe. It looked like high drive left field and it is going to go a curveball in on him but he got to it and Salvador Perez homers for the second game in a row. Well, yesterday, Dan, we were talking. Got him. Great location for the back door sliders. Strike out number five of the afternoon. The shed at first. 0 and2 the count on Barger who lines one to center field. Ismail backs up a bit and makes the catch. One down in the air to right. Rave coming over towards the line and Straw waves at it to strike out and end the inning through six. Line to left center. That’s a base hit and maybe more. Straw is going to cut it off, but Frasier is on his way to second and in there with a double and grounded out to second. backhanded by Davis Schneider on to first for the out. [Music] Gets it down. Little’s only play is to first and he gets it there in time to get Isbel, but that squeeze is going to bring in a run and make it a one-run game. [Applause] This is hit high and deep to left center field. Straw is there and makes the catch. A long out, but it is an out. And he is grounded out. He squares again. He gets it down again. They’ll go for the lead runner. And they’ll get him, but they won’t turn two. So look, and this is into left field. A base hit. Lopeid around third. On his way to the plate. The throw is cut and it’s a four to2 ball game. grounded to short and backs up wit to second one in the first two and that’ll end the inning. Popped him up. It’ll be Barger stepping over the bag. Well, he that is a fair ball and France will make the play himself. Two down. They become the two hardest throwers in the bullpen. And this is popped up. Clement settling underneath it. And what a nice job. Fair ball down to first. They’ll go to second to force Bette. Barer safely across. Bounce to third. This is going to be a long throw, but it’s on the money and in time. One and two the count and a swinging a miss by Stro to win the inning. [Applause] Fast ball strike three Cole. [Applause] Ground ball out to second. Maybe some funny spin on it. Got it. Huffman finishes it off. A one two3 ninth. his 26th save of the season. [Music]

Finally win a game
Who invented this shiitty game 😂
I freaking love watching Scherzer pitch as a Jays fan, even if he was awful I’d still have respect for him as a legend, but no, he’s been pretty solid. Mad Max is back!
Scherzer is improving every game. Good news.
And drummer Hoff, he fires it off.
Dominguez has been pretty good since the trade
When is Flabby going to help…
So many trash at bats for Straw
Guerrero is not worth the superstar money paid to him.
Great game and great pitching. Straw had 2 bad strikeouts though.
Like to see the Jays do more hit and runs or steal attempts.
After last night, kinda boring but got the job done i guess
Myles straw needs to retire
When bieber comes back😮😮
LET'S GO BLUE JAYS
There is something wrong with Vladdy's launch angle. Groundballs have been a very obvious pattern of his.
I'm still certain the Blue Jays made the wrong moves while trading
Not sure why people talking negatively about Straw – elite defence, speed, hustle, grinder. Just a few games ago, he was busting his bum down the line which forced errors to happen and we won the game.
You can’t teach gritty stuff.
clearly apparent, the jays Catcher absolutely sucks at throwing out opposition players.
Man I love seeing the Jays playing good ball in August. I felt they messed up the rotation a bit coming out of the break. The 4 game series vs the Orioles had a double header the 2nd day. They had already won the first 3 of 4 in Detroit so Detroit was gonna play desperate. They should have flipped Scherzer and Bassitt and had Bassitt pitch the 4th game against Detroit. U can say hindsight 20/20 but I swear I was saying this going into the 4th game vs Detroit. They needed a veteran who can get you 6-7 innings almost guaranteed to start before a double header. Bassitt having a nice season, but he's no Scherzer. Sure enough Scherzer pitches 7 innings vs Detroit. 11 Ks and 3 ER in a loss. Take 3 of 4. Next game in Baltimore, Bassitt can't get past 2.1 innings are they're already having to use bullpen. 1230pm game following day, starter again goes 2.1 innings getting rocked. Night game, the kid they're bringing along has a decent 5 innings and they lose 3-2. Thank gawd they pull off a 9-8 win to not get swept, but i know had Bassitt pitched in Detroit and Scherzer pitched the first game against Baltimore, at worst they split 2-2 in Baltimore. If the Jays win the East and they get Scherzer and Gausman pitching at their best..mannnn, when the Roger's Centre is rocking during playoffs it's electric. Im praying for it. People gotta be sick of the Yankees and Judge choking in the playoffs. The Mets have a better team and Soto and Alonso in the playoffs..there's some really interesting matchups in the NL. No guarantee it's LA this year. And the Jays quietly added a couple of nice bullpen arms and if they get a healthy Bieber come playoffs?? Gausman, Scherzer, Bieber. Then you have solid starters like Bassitt and Berrios where needed. Even if they got some crazy extra innings games. Springer getting hit in the head in that Baltimore series just made it worse. But all accounts are he's good and they're being cautious with protocols. He'll be back when they go to Colorado. They gotta win this series tomorrow and then take care of the lowly Rockies the way a 1st place team should! And Miami doing us huge favors with last night comeback against the Yankees and then today Perez pitched a gem!
The Jays should have traded non base runner Guerrero Jr. This guy slowed up running to first base in the 7th inning. That's no surprise he is the worst base runner in the league. The Jays will never win a World Series with numbnuts at first base.
I'll take Straw over Dalton "Automatic Out" Varshit 100 times out of 100. At .253 his BA is 20 points higher than Varshit's OBP ffs (.230. A .230 ON BASE PERCENTAGE. Let that sink in for a minute). Dude is hitting Mendoza. .200 on the nose. He's just not an everyday player. Period. Nice defensive replacement, but not even that is worth a 25 man roster spot.
Straw is a better defender than Varsho, he gets on the ball a lot faster
