FOR better or worse, the Hammers appear to have agreed the third signing of the summer.
The news has been reported by David Ornstein on his twitter page: The confirmation that Hammers fans have been correct in their suspicions that free agent Callum Wilson was going to be the next player into West Ham.

Ornstein’s exclusive tweet reveals the details:
“EXCL: West Ham United agree deal to sign Callum Wilson as free agent. 33 yo striker available following expiry of terms at Newcastle United. England International joining West Ham on one year fixed contract with heavily incentive based salary.
Medical complete”
Not the article I’d hoped to be writing regarding a new striker at West Ham. However this has been trialled for a couple of weeks now so cannot be a surprise to anyone. A massive disappointment – yes. But not a surprise. Once the contract details are out there, perhaps I’ll look differently on it if Wilson really is on a ‘pittance’ if he doesn’t get on the pitch.
But apparently he turned down that kind of deal at Newcastle so – why come to West Ham unless the terms were better?
“Medical complete”. The Hammers must have used the same doctor that signed off on Kurt Zouma.
However: If you were Callum Marshall just now you’d be rubbing your hands in delight. West Ham have brought in a 33 year old with a terrible injury history to cover a 32 year old with a terrible injury history. Marshall, impressing everyone out in the USA in the Premier League Summer series has a golden opportunity in the next 12 months to force his way in to the Hammers starting line up when one, or both of the other two Dad’s Army strikers inevitably go off sick.
