Jazz Chisholm Jr. after Yankees fall to Marlins

Josh, what happened on that pop up there in the second on the bases? Uh just trying to be aggressive already playing with both the middle infielders out there. Um you know, I saw something that I thought they were going to do. He deaked it like he was going to do it. He didn’t do it, but you know, still trying to be aggressive because I’ve played here before. I know how to field plays and you know, sometimes you get aggressive and you get you get caught up. You make you make an out. So yeah. Would you do it differently next time now knowing what you know? No. What did What did Aaron say to you after I mean I know you were right straight out there the the next inning playing defense, but then when you came back in it it looked like he had talked to you. Um I mean all he was saying is like what happened and like how was I out and what was I doing? I told him exactly what I just told you. Like I said I’ve played here before. I saw him he deed it pretty well like he was going to drop it. I saw him watching Goldie the whole time. I looked back at Goldie, too. So, I was like, “Okay, maybe he might because I’m on first base. I would want to get me off first base, too. I’ve done it here many times.” So, yeah. Did you think you were far enough that you could have gotten to second if he had dropped it easily? Cuz if he would have dropped it, I was already The reason I got out is because I took the step that way first and then I went back cuz I was playing the drop. I was playing the drop. So it would have bounced too high and by the time it would came down I would have got there so it would have been fine. Jess, what made their starter so tough today? I mean he pitched pretty well. I mean his breaking ball was working, his fast ball was working, change up was working. That’s basically mostly all I can say. I think what I have two at bats against him. Yeah. One walk and a roll over. Like I said, breaking ball was working, fast ball was working. Aaron said after the game he doesn’t feel like this team has reached its potential yet. How do you feel about it? Not even close. I mean, we’ve been making mistakes for the last week, week and a half and like we know that’s not us. We know we’re better baseball team. So, at the end of the day, we know that when we get this figured out and everything aligned up, we’re going to be just fine. What do you think needs to happen to get there? Honestly, we just got to lock in. You know, it’s been I feel like everybody’s still thinking about how we start off the season and how we need to make it to the big leagues. I feel like we’re pressing a little bit. Even lowkey me too cuz I’m trying to go out there and make extra plays that don’t really need to be made. Um but at the end of the day, it’s baseball. So, just got to come in the next day and focus and lock

  1. I like the way Jazz thinks..You may say that he is over thinking, but sometimes you have to think outside the box..
If he made it, you would be saying…OH WHAT A PLAY..
THE TANKEES IS SHIT RIGHT NOW, …So if a player is trying to change direction of the game, and get caught …..SO WHAT

  2. Jazz you have balls dude… you wouldn’t have done anything different …No?? Really? lol fuckin joke dude . This is NY my brotha … wrong city to lie to the fans. So let’s talk some truth … you have zero plate discipline , you swing out of your shoes about 90 percent of the time with your head facing the right field stands … you have no ability to change your swing with two strikes and try to shorten up a little to put ball in play … your footwork is lazy and one who solely relies on athletic ability to make defensive plays ( ie not getting to second early enough on steals , not squaring your body to ground balls that are hit to your right or left that you have time to be able to … some more truth , you run the bases like shit and have no baseball IQ… I can go on and on my friend – played d2 baseball so I’m not someone who doesn’t know what I’m saying . Fix your piss pour attitude man , or else your gonna get your ass traded

  3. A team that is not Focused – Papi
You can't keep making mistakes – Jeter

If we made a mistake, me, you Papi and Jeter would be on the bench – ARod

  4. Yankees have stupid players on the roster
This clown isn't the only one
There was another idiot who forgot how many outs there were in another recent game

  5. Sloppy defense, dumb baserunning, losing focus (blowing leads), mid-season slumps…..how many years running now ???? Team is a reflection of it's manager and there you have it. Boone's managerial methods have reached their expiration date. He was a welcome relief taking over for Girardi and his drill sergeant manner, but now this team needs that discipline and focus again.

  6. Wow…what a response to something like this. What is up with this teams mentality? Terrible fundamentals and guys making excuses….we need to get a new guy in there to shake things up. Boone needs to go.

  7. When you go for a ballsy play and it doesn’t work out then you gotta own up for making a ballsy call out there…. If it fails then you simply made a bad call. Knowing what you know now HOW CAN HE NOT DO ANYTHING DIFFERENTLY?!?!? IS THIS GUY A MORON?!

  8. Jazz, I'm definitely in the minority here, but I understand exactly what you were doing there. You were trying to help the team w/advanced thinking, but unfortunately it back-fired on you, because your were a bit late executing your fallback plan. Hey, it happens. But I do appreciate your thought process in trying to make it better for the NYY last night.
