Jaire Alexander: “Defense Wins Championships” | Baltimore Ravens

You had a couple takeaways in practice yesterday. Defense is just talking about takeway. How much do you feel like that’s on your guys’ minds as a defense this year that being one of the leaders and not be leaders at take? Well, you know, defense wins championships. So, that’s going to be very important for our success. Our offense, I mean, you know, they can score a lot of points. We have to be able to stop guys in the pass and in the run and get the ball. So, we going to do that. What’s it like just being in this environment today? Uh, it was fun. It was fun. It was a rowdy bunch. Um, and I enjoyed it. What are some of the You guys have a secondary, a lot of guys that have played a lot of ball at a high level. What are some of the discussions that you guys can have on and off the field that help each other improve? Well, you know, we start with building chemistry with one another. I think that’s important. You know, the closer we are, the more the more we’ll be able to feed off each other and play play as a unit. So, I mean, that that’s the first thing that I wanted to establish. So, what’s impressed you seeing up close Kyle Hamilton, big dude, can play a lot of different positions. What’s the first thing that you saw from him, man? I mean, I mean, he’s like 67, man. I call him nickname is 67. I call him that all the time. Like, he’s huge, man. And I love that. Like, I love playing with a bigger safety, uh, you know, that’s going to be able to fill them run fits. Hey man, you you fill all the run fits you want, I’m going to cover, you know, that’s what I like. Where do you feel you are just knowing the defense and feeling comfortable with all this? Yeah, I’m probably about 90% there. 90%. I got great safeties who communicate the the calls to me. So, you know, it’s getting much of memory now. You and had a number of reps against each other. How much is that helping both of you going up against each other? I mean, Dehop’s like he’s he’s a goat, man. He’s one he’s a legend in this league. So, I always want to go up against DeHop. Like, that’s good on good, man. It’s It’s been great, though.
