I didn’t think Devin Williams was going to come here and pitch to a five [ __ ] ERA. Sandman, I’m sorry, brother, but if I could predict [ __ ] like that, I’d be a mil multi-millionaire win the lotto every day. Sorry for being wrong. Oh my god. The perfect Pete could never be wrong. I’m wrong about Deon Williams. I thought he’d be good. He sucks ass. But guess what? I’m willing to sit there and go get him off the [ __ ] team. It’s obvious the Yankees aren’t. Kevin Cruz says, “Pete, I’mma lose it. Williams can’t play in New York.” Yep. Can’t play in New York. Kalay says Jock Peterson 132 average. He hits a homer. Well, 132 after the homer, by the way, brother. A 132 RA after the home run. It was hitting 123 when the homer happened. When the homer happened. Yankees are now seven games over 500. Yes, I said it. Seven games over 500 on a day. The Yankees start the game. Goldie hits his ninth homer of the year. Beautiful. Uh Stanton, it’s a big go-ahead home run. Beautiful. Adam with the super chat says Weaver went to the World Series now pitching to sixth. Fboon. Everybody in their mother knows that when Devin Williams got traded to the new to the Yankees, right? We all sat there and said, you know, there was a lot of people that said Weaver should keep closing. But let’s be honest, folks, the majority of people knew, yeah, Devin Williams struggles in the postseason, but in the regular season, he’s been one of the best closers in baseball. So, I had no problem with the Yankees coming in and making him the closer. Folks, by about the second, what the first full month of baseball, I was overly concerned. Me and Francis did an episode of Designated Spits where we sat there and said, I just think this guy can’t handle New York. I think he’s one of those clear examples that this ain’t it for him. He can’t do it here. a one-run lead with Devin Williams almost feels like a loss. If you’re saying that, he should not be your closer. And it’s unbelievable to me because the Yankees are in such a different spot right now than they were before the deadline as reality says, left too many runners stranded. Also, they did. You’re right about that. But but in the postseason, that could happen. When you got a one-run lead, you got to lock that [ __ ] down, brother. I’m not making any excuses for the Yankees offense today. They should have scored at least seven or eight runs easy. But they did have the lead. They did have the lead. And in the postseason, you got to win oneun ball games with that man as your closer. You are not going to win onerrun ball games, folks. It is never ever ever going to happen. Look at this pitch to Jo Peterson, folks. Let me go back on this. Look at this pitch to Jock Peterson. You don’t get a better pitch if you begged. Huh? Jock didn’t just hit it out. We think it’s the best thing.” And then it backfires on them and they’re looking around like, “Oh my god, I can’t believe it happened.” But everybody in their [ __ ] mother knew it. Well, I mean, we look, we we have really good guys down there, Devin included, and we got to be able to close out these games, though. So, um you know, uh he’s he’s he’s been through some tough moments already this season. Um, and we got to bounce back from it. How hard is this for the team to take a tough weekend in Miami Miami heartbreaking fashion? I mean, just got to get over it. I mean, we got to we got to win games. You know, the season’s getting shorter in a hurry, so it’s no time for excuses and feeling bad and everyone feels like crap, but we gota we got to go take it. and uh um haven’t been able to do that on this road trip so far, but um we got to we got to do it better. What are you seeing from Williams? He had a really good stretch there for a couple months and now the last few weeks have been a lot of struggles. I think seven runs in his last eight innings, something like that. Yeah. Um I mean I I think it’s more just his last few outings where he’s given up some runs obviously and um No, it’s not saves. So No, it’s not. It’s not his last few outings. Stop it. Have to be better. Um, stop it. And you know, starting tomorrow, there’s no there’s no time.
