St. Louis Cardinals vs os Angeles Dodgers – FULL GAME HIGHLIGHTS | August 4, 2025 MLB Season

Seemed like things were figured out, but then the last start brought a few more questions. Just a ground ball to second. Rojos makes the routine play for the first out on the ground left side and through. A base hit for Hedeta. Falling to a three- 0 count. Runner goes Will Smith. Throw down to second. The tag not in time. Stolen base. for Hadetta, his fourth of the season. [Applause] A roller to Rojots. Glass now works around the one out base runner for a scoreless top of the first. Otani Betson Freeman coming up next. Here comes the O2 from Gray. Freeman can’t check his swing. Bookending Ks for Sunny Gray in a one, two, three first. [Music] Hit ball. This one’s hit well to left field. Michael Conorto will turn and watch it fly. Dodgers down one- nothing. Two- two pitch to Sajay is punched through the right side. I like staying tall, but I don’t like staying tall over your tailbone. More like staying tall where your head face got a first pitch strike. Popped him up on the infield. Smith running out from home plate. Muny in front of the mound. Makes the catch. Mixed bag of information there on Tommy Edmond who again hit the injured list. Tasks Hernandez taps one to third and the Cardinals are going to settle for one out at first base. Muny up to second getting into scoring position with two down but swinging a miss. Strike three. So Muny left on the bases. The Dodgers trail by one going to the third as cleanly as anybody hoped or expected. There’s his first K. Gets Burlson the wave at strike three. Way below 200. Shot to right field. Newar running toward the line to make the catch. Couple innings and change now. Yes, he did. Four strikeouts the first time through. Technically a rookie. Sends one high in the air. Left to center field. Pie has camped out. Two gone. Ball is not matching the window of the breaking stop. There it did. That’s a good one. Anding inning ending K to strand the one out walk and keep it a one-run game. Ground ball left side. Stopped it short by win beats him. He’s always been able to do that. Freddy Freeman high in the air to right field. New ballar on the warning track at the wall. We’re tied. Tipped into the glove. Strike three. Two going in the fourth after Gray’s fifth bunch out. And Cardinals tied at one. First pitch line to Miguel Rojas at second base. [Music] Got him swinging. Chase the pitch in the dirt. That’s number four for Tyler Glass. Now means three away. He can finish off Hodeta with his 3-2. Grounded to Betts. That is a one, two, three, fifth for glass. Now a shut down inning keeping the game tied. Show pretty much the long ball, but the batting average still not where it he wants it. Pah to left center field. Playable for Scott in front of the track. Dodgers down in order in the fifth right here. One pitch on the ground to Muny and Max makes the play. He’s definitely trying to cover that inside fast ball now. And he had a feeling that the spin was coming. Yep. And then another two two pitch sprayed to Freddy Freeman. Nice backhand stop. He flips it to glass now for the first out of the inning. That is it. A one-two pitch. Got him swinging. The other pitch will be the high fast ball. Did he go? Yes, he did. Here’s the payoff pitch and Freeman grounds it to second. No problems for Brendan Donovan. They will try again. Smith grounds it to third. Nice pick there by Sajayi. Throws on the run. It’s low but well picked by Contras. A 2-2 gets Muny to strike out swinging. Scoreless and one two three seventh for Gray. We’re still tied. Tipped into the glove. That’s strike three. One gone for Bond in the eighth in the fourth. Donovan to center. Slicing line drive, but P has read it perfectly. Two gone. Scalded left center field. Pes on his horse and this ball is gone. Oscar Hernandez laces a ball left center field gap. It’s cut off by Scott. Hernandez digging for second. He slides in safe for the leadoff double. What a start to the eighth for the Dodgers. The tying run in scoring position for Michael Conorto. First pitch rolled to the right side. A productive out for Conorto. Gets Ruiz to third. Tying run 90 ft away. Only one out. The infield in. O’Brien’s all one. Ground ball to second off of Donovan. It’s Ruiz comes home to score. And we’re tied once again. Now Miguel Rohigh game tied at two. First pitch bouncer over the head over Brian. Fielded cleanly by Donovan on the first and that’s the final out. So we will go to the ninth now tied at two. Sprayed to right field. Ruiz has a drop in front of him. It’s a leadoff base hit for St. Louis in the ninth. Stewart’s 02. Ground ball right side and through. Backto back two strike singles for St. Louis. There are Cardinals on the corners with nobody out. First runner stays 2-2. Popped up first base side. Freddy Freeman along the line makes the basket catch. The runner’s going to hold it third cuz Freddy fired a strike to Smith. He struck him out. Two gone. Cardinals have struggled with tonight. Four seam fast. A flare into right field, a base hit and the Cardinals reclaim the lead. A pinch hit RBI single for Poso makes it 32 St. Louis in the ninth. Scott bunts it in the air. Freddy Freeman slides and makes the catch and foul ground. That’s the final out of the top of the ninth. First pitch drilled to right field. Nipar cuts it off. Otani with a wide turn. He’s heading back to first. The tying run is on base in the air. Right field side slicing toward the line. Long run for Nar. It is caught on a dive by Nbar. Oh my goodness. What a catch on an 02. Freeman strikes out swinging. Show Otani on first. The tying run. 3-2 St. Louis in the bottom of the ninth. Two out. Full count. The pitch outside. Ball four. Two on, two out in the ninth. The one from Romero catches the outside corner and levels the count. swinging a miss. Two and two. Once again, the Dodgers down to their last strike. The payoff pitch, pops it to right field, but it hangs up for Nbar. And that ends the game. The Cardinals come to Los Angeles and take the series opener. Another one victory for the Cardinals over the Dodgers this year. 3-2 the final score. N bar was one of the base hits that got the Cardinals on the board to go ahead with a ground ball up the middle. This catch save the game.

  2. I wonder what Ohtani is for his last 40 at bats. At least he didn't leave a bunch of his teammates on base this time during his late June and July slump fest.

  3. Dodgers fans should be lucky having superstars all over the lineup and always getting unfair amounts of money. Iโ€™m happy for the cardinals because they have to work harder for the great players they have. Then dodgers fans complain when they have a small slump and it doesnโ€™t matter because they will make playoffs anyways

  4. You have to really feel for Mookie, MAN even when he does get hits he is having no luck the outfielders just keep making ridiculously insane plays that nootbar catch 90% of the time hits the ground I really hope he can hit a stride soon.

  5. …worst piece of managing I have ever witnessed. Oliver Marmol has got to be fired. Gray was throwing a 2 hitter thru 7 innings & and then gets taken out only for the 1st relief pitcher to give up 2 hits to the first 2 batters he faces. Tie game. I was furious. Thank God we won anyway; Marmol has to go….

  6. Mookie isn't in a slump. His body hasn't completely recovered from the sickness.
The most noticeable decline in his detailed performance stats is his swing speed, that tells everything.
He lost weight and muscle after he got sick, and he hasn't completely recovered yet.
By pushing him to perform at his high level, it's only torturing him mentally.
He needs a longer rest, and that would help him perform better in a long term, and that would help the team get to WS.
If Roberts continue what he is doing, the team would miss WS and mookie could lose his career too.
Roberts is a shallow and clueless thinker.
