Miami Dolphins Get INTERESTING Update For Their NFL Week 1 Game vs. Colts
I know we haven’t even played an NFL preseason game yet, but it’s not too early to talk about the Dolphins first opponent, which is the Indianapolis Colts. Because if we’re going to be honest, an interesting update came out on Monday afternoon surrounding the Indianapolis Colts because Miami still doesn’t know who they’re going to play on the Colts as their QB1. And you think that you’d get a little bit of insight from training camp and preseason. Well, the Colts are keeping it very tight over there. And when they released their first unofficial depth chart ahead of their first preseason game, which Miami will do the same over the next 48 hours, and we’ll have a video on that first depth chart, but they did not name a QB1. They had as their first quarterback Daniel Jones or Anthony Richardson. It’s a bit odd that they wouldn’t give any way on who will be starting or labeled as QB1 at this point in the offseason. From Miami’s perspective, it’s a little bit challenging not knowing who you’re going to play week one. I know that most coaches will say they’re focused on seeing what they have in-house and worrying about the preeason, but in the back of your mind, you’re also probably going to start thinking of ways to win your first real game of the season, which is against the Colts. I would be very naive to sit up here and believe that Anthony Weaver wouldn’t have some sort of script, some sort of an idea on how they would attack whatever quarterback they do end up facing in week one. So, it’s a bit odd they don’t know what’s going on at this point. And we’re going to talk about both quarterbacks and who I would prefer to face and why this game is so important for Miami. But make sure you follow me over on Twitterx. My handle is nick_rolloff. We’re 43 followers away from 2200. My social media has really taken off. I appreciate all the new followers. We’ll keep on hitting that follow button because we’re going to have a lot for the season. Now, personally, even though they have said no clear QB1, I am a little sicko. I have been going on Colts Twitter. I have been looking at the reports out of training camp because I am very curious about who is going to be playing QB1 for the Colts ahead of that game against Miami. And based off what I have read and seen from Colts training camp, to me it looks like Anthony Richardson, the first round pick from a couple years ago, has the edge over Daniel Jones right now. But Shane Stiken obviously isn’t ready to put one ahead of the other. and he actually shared a little bit of an insight on this QB battle to Jeremy Fowler over at ESPN saying the battle is neck andneck. Obviously, we’re going to let this thing play out, but both have made plays the last couple of days. So, I’m really pleased with the progress of both. And if you’re wondering when it will probably be announced who is starting week one against Miami, I would have to guess it would be in late August. Obviously, the Dolphins play. Then the first weekend of September of the 7th, 8th, I can’t remember the exact date. Um, but I imagine after the third preseason game, it’ll be announced, giving whatever quarterback is the starter a full two weeks to prep as the starter going against the Miami Dolphins. Remember, there is a twoe off period from final preseason game, the first regular season game. Um, so that’s when Miami will probably find out. We will make sure you are covered when that is officially announced. But before I take a look at both QBs and what they’ve done in their career, I do want to ask this from you. Who do you want to play? We’ve seen Richardson in about 15 games. We’ve seen Daniel Jones for a lot more than that. If you were to pick one that you’d want to play so Miami has the easier opponent in that week one game, would it be Anthony Richardson or Daniel Jones? Let me know your thoughts down in the comments. I would prefer Daniel Jones. I would be typing those DJs. That is the player that I’d want to play. This guy just got ran out of New York last season getting released halfway through the year that he went to with the Vikings and was part of the Kevin Okonnell rehab facility facility, if you will. But if you look back at what these two quarterbacks did respectively last season, now all of these numbers for Daniel Jones was a member of the New York Giants. Those were the 10 starts that he had. Anthony Richardson had 11 starts last year. It’s interesting like both of them bring different things to the table in a negative way and in a positive way. Like obviously Daniel Jones is pure throwing numbers were slightly better in terms of completion percentage, yards, touchdowns to interception ratio, QB rating. Like the only thing Anthony Richardson has on Daniel Jones is rushing yards and his rushing ability. But it’s not like Daniel Jones is slouch at that either. Both of them are pretty athletic and mobile quarterbacks. But the reason why I answered initially why I’d rather play Daniel Jones than Anthony Richardson is because Richardson is just so dynamic. You never know what you’re getting going to get from him. Like there is going to be one play where he looks like the worst quarterback known to mankind. Then the next play he might look like a combination of Tom Brady and Patrick Mahomes. Like that is the type of upside Anthony Richardson has. He might be one of the biggest boomers quarterbacks that we’ve seen in the National Football League. And the part that scares me a little bit too is that you never know when it could click for him. He’s been in the league for two years. He only played four games as a rookie before he had shoulder injury that kept him out for the remainder of the year. But he looked really good in those four games. This past year, he obviously had a very up and down season, missed six games. So, he’s an injuryprone QB as well, which is very concerning if you’re a Colts fan. But the point is, when he’s healthy and on the football field, you never know what you’re going to get. Just to show you even a larger example on how Richardson is more of a boomer compared to Daniel Jones is that when you look at their advanced QB stats on pro football focus, look at the big-time throw percentage and turnover worthy percentage difference between both quarterbacks. I also have the adjusted completion percentage, which takes into consideration drops from their wide receivers. Richardson gets a massive bump up by 13%. Daniel Jones gets a similar bump up as well. But Daniel Jones just doesn’t take risks. He doesn’t make big throws. He is going to just take checkdowns and that is it. To me, Daniel Jones is just meh. He’s not good either. He’s very bad. But would I rather have a quarterback that I kind of know what I’m getting when I’m playing them, or would I rather play a guy that’s an absolute wildcard and can look like a top five quarterback in the National Football League? There’s also a very good chance he could look like the worst QB in the NFL and Miami walks away with an easy W. But that other little 10% of him looking really, really elite scares me. I don’t think I would be concerned about Daniel Jones looking like an elite top 10 quarterback playing against the Miami Dolphins. I just wouldn’t feel that type of fear. And I’ll tell you what, when the Dolphins do or Colts, excuse me, announce their starting quarterback, we will make a video about that. So, subscribe, turn on notifications because we will be the number one spot for Dolphins coverage and how other news impacts Miami. So, join the channel today. Now, to play devil’s advocate, even though I don’t really want to play Anthony Richardson, it’s hard to not bring up the fact that Miami played the Colts last season. Anthony Richardson started that game and he was absolutely abysmal. It was a week seven game. Miami was just coming out of their by-week. They had that week six buy. It was a two and three Miami Dolphins ball club. And I thought this was a big game. They were up at halftime and then Raheem Moert fumbled to start the second half and it let the Colts right back in the game where Indianapolis inevitably won 16 to 10. But it wasn’t because of Anthony Richardson. He was awful completion percentage. Are you kidding like seriously that is so bad 10 of 24 QBR of 22 and a half and he lost a fumble. No touchdowns or interceptions. Like you just don’t know where you’re getting with Andy Richardson. When Miami played him last year, it was really, really bad. But he was still able to get them the win due to Tyler Huntley getting hurt down the stretch. The fumble from Raheem Oster. Also, we had an Alec Ingold fumble. Like Miami just shot themselves in the foot in that game. I would expect something different this time around. At least I hope so from Miami side of things considering Tua will be playing in this game. The truth is though, when you talk about both quarterbacks from Indianapolis, they are both not built. Miami should, and I’ll be honest, they need to win this football game. Week one, I also think is one of the more interesting weeks in the football league. It’s week one, so you could argue, all right, there’s already 16 games after this. It’s not that important. I would argue other. I think week one is one of the most important games of the year. Setting the tone the right way for the rest of your season could go a long way. And I know not all teams that win their first game make the playoffs, but it does make you feel more confident going throughout the rest of the first month and the rest of the season. And against a team that I project not to be that good in Indianapolis, Miami needs to take advantage, win this game. And I’ll explain a little bit more on why this should be the case for the Dolphins here in a second. But before we get to this point, I did want to let the people know about this awesome sale going on at chatsports.commia sale. This shirt’s usually 35. You can get it right now for $20. $15 off, like I said, chatsports.com sale. Links in description and comments of today’s video. All sizes are in stock right now, so get it before the sale runs out. I mentioned I think it’s important to start the year right. Last year, Miami did win their week one game in an absolute nailbiter. Jason Sanders had a game-winning field goal in a comeback by the Dolphins against the Jacksonville Jaguars. I know that it ultimately did not lead to anything big for Miami this year, but that’s more injury related in my opinion. And when you look at the Dolphin schedule, I’ve been saying this to everybody and their mother around the chat sports office and anyone who asks me about how Miami is going to be this season. I say the first month of the year is absolutely crucial. When you look at the first two months of the season, I think Miami should go three and one and needs to go three and one in their first four, like they should be able to beat the Colts in week one. They should be able to beat the Patriots at home in a 100 p.m. Sunday afternoon game. Sure, they probably lose to the Bills on the road on Thursday Night Football, but then you get a mini buy, a week and a half to prepare for a very bad Jets team at home under the lights. You should be able to beat the Patriots, Colts, and Jets in the first month and start the year three- one. And then you look at the next month, you should be able to beat the Panthers on the road. You should be able to beat the Browns on the road. Two teams that I project to be picking in the top 10 this upcoming year. So that’s a 5 in one record there. And then if you just split the Chargers and Falcons, both games will be at home or in a dome. Well, then you’re talking about a six-2 start to the year. at worst maybe five and three if you just lose both of those games against the Chargers and Falcons. Like to me, if the Dolphins want to get back to the postseason, Chris Greer, Mike McDaniel, save their jobs, get heading in the right direction by making the playoffs and maybe even getting a win, you need to be six and two in the first eight games. at worst, and I mean at worst, five and three, but six and two should absolutely be on the table because the last nine games of the season are much more difficult. You have an absolute gauntlet in weeks nine through 11 playing the Ravens, Bills, and Commanders, three teams that probably project to be a playoff team. Can you go one and two in those games? I would be happy with a one and two stretch there. I know all three of them are technically at home or at a neutral site. Washington being in Germany, of course, or excuse me, Brazil, excuse me, but the Ravens and Bills, those are two of the three best teams in the AFC. That’s going to be tough. And then you have your buy. You should be able to beat the Saints with these. I think you should be able to beat the Jets with these, but those are the only two guaranteed games I think you have in your final nine. So, you’re going to have to find a way to beat the Steelers on the road in a cold environment. New England on the road in a cold environment. Tampa’s a good squad and so is Cincinnati. Like it just is so clear when you look at the Dolphin schedule. The first eight games of the season is just such an easy stretch compared to the last nine games. And that is why I think starting six and two is so imperative for Miami if they want to make the playoffs. Because think about it folks, if you start the year six and two, all you got to do is go four and five in those final nine games. Four and five. That’s not a good nine-game stretch, but if you’re able to start the year six and two and then finish four and five, you’re going 10 and seven. And I’d be willing to make the bet that 10 and seven is good enough to make the playoffs this year. So to me, if Miami wants to have a playoff season in 25, they got to win week one against the Colts, they got to start their first eight games six and two, five and three at bare minimum. But it would require to you go then five and four in your final nine rather than being allowed to go four and five. So predict it for me. What will the Dolphins record be in their first eight games? I want to say six and two. I think they should go six and two. They need to go six and two, but knowing Miami, I’ll say five and three. Let me know your thoughts down in the comments section. D j he's one dimensional ar beat us last year and dual threat makes harder to defend
Sounds good on paper, but lots of people are picking the Colts and Patriots to be better than the Dolphins.
Dolphins/ Commanders is in Spain not Brazil
DJ but I have a feeling we will face both in the same game.
Hopeful 6-2 / Believable 5-3 / Knowing Our Dolphins 4-4
Anthony Richardson will have a daunte Culpepper game against us 😂😂
