Trevor Story Says Fenway Park Is a “Special Place” That Red Sox Will Fight to Defend

All right, Trevor, your ability to pull through in big moments has been paramount to this team, especially this point of the year. What’s been the secret to your success? Uh, it’s nothing crazy, honestly. Um, just being convicted in my plan, that’s it. And, um, keeping it simple, keeping it short, and when I when stuff like that happens, uh, big things happen for us. Absolutely. Now, Crochet works quickly. What does that do to your defense? We love it, man. We love when Beast is on the mound. He’s uh he sets a tone and um you can feel his aggression, you can feel his presence out there. Like you said, he works fast, so he keeps us on our toes and ready to make a play for him. But a lot of times he’s he’s doing all the work. Now, talk about another tone setter. Abrau is a busy man tonight. Just talk about his contributions, not only locking down right field, but also offensively. Yeah, I mean, made a huge play last night. Um, another one today, a ball that, you know, had extra bases all over it and, uh, Brady ran it down. That’s why he’s a goal glover and, you know, in my opinion, the best right fielder in the game. So, um, he does it all. He’s a well-rounded player and, uh, I’m I’m happy he’s on our team. Absolutely. Now, when you guys started heating up in the seventh inning there, I swear this park started shaking. Just talk about the fans getting louder. Cora talked about it after the Dodgers series that it’s just got louder and louder, the buying with the fans. How’s that feel for you guys? It’s a special place, man. This is this is home for us and uh we want to defend it the best we can and we played really well at home. So, I think that’s the case for a lot of the good Red Sox teams. When uh we play well here, it travels and I think that’s good good signs for us um headed down the stretch here. Thank you so much, Trevor. Of course. Thank you.

Trevor Story spoke after the Red Sox won their fourth consecutive series in a win over the Kansas City Royals, crediting the fans and the atmosphere that they have created in Fenway Park to give the team something to fight for.

  1. I love this damn team. They were creaky and disheveled and kind of broken at the beginning of the season. Failing on every metric. Struggling to get to .500. They got rid of Devers and everyone said they were mad. They almost immediately clicked & have rushed to the top of their leaderboard faster than any team in the game. It's already a season worth a movie… how far can they take it?
I love this team. Go Sox!!!!!
